Bid sonder ophou,

Bible Teaching of the Day

Concentrate on the Cross – Part 15

The Red Heifer called Jesus

It seems that every few years, a red heifer (red cow) is born in Israel, and it results in some people thinking that the return of Jesus is near. Why is this? What does a red heifer have to do with the end times? Before we explore that question directly, it is important to understand the significance of a red heifer in the Bible.

To meet the requirements of the Old Testament law, a red heifer was needed to help accomplish the purification of the Israelite’s from uncleanness—specifically, the ashes of a red heifer were needed (see Numbers 19). Because red heifer ashes were necessary for the purification rites held at the temple, many have regarded the appearance of a red heifer today as heralding the construction of the third temple and the return of Christ.

According to rabbinical tradition, there have been nine red heifers sacrificed since Moses’ time. Since the destruction of the second temple, no red heifers have been slaughtered. The rabbi Maimonides (1135—1204) taught that the tenth red heifer would be sacrificed by the Messiah Himself (Parah Adumah, ch. 3, § 4). The Temple Institute, a group advocating the construction of a third temple, reports that five flawless red heifers from Texas arrived in Israel on September 15, 2022 (https://templeinstitute.org, accessed 9/22/22). Many people view this event as a fulfillment of prophecy, since the acquisition of a red heifer is a major step forward in plans for a new temple.

The Mosaic Law specified that the red heifer was to be “without defect or blemish” and to have never borne a yoke (Numbers 19:2). The sacrifice of the red heifer was unique in the law in that it used a female animal, it was sacrificed away from the entrance to the tabernacle, and it was the only sacrifice in which the color of the animal was specified.

The slaughtering of a red heifer is described in Numbers 19:1–10. Eleazar the priest was to oversee the ritual outside the camp of the Israelites. After the animal was killed, Eleazar was to sprinkle some of its blood toward the front of the tabernacle seven times (verse 4). Then he left camp again and oversaw the burning of the carcass of the red heifer (verse 5). As the red heifer burned, the priest was to add “some cedar wood, hyssop and scarlet wool” to the fire (verse 6).

The ashes of the red heifer were then collected and stored “in a ceremonially clean place outside the camp.” The ashes were used “in the water of cleansing; it is for purification from sin” (Numbers 19:9). The law goes on to detail when and how the ashes of the red heifer were used in purifying those who came in contact with a dead body: “Whoever touches a human corpse will be unclean for seven days. They must purify themselves with the water on the third day and on the seventh day; then they will be clean” (verses 11–12). The purification process involved the ashes of the red heifer in this way: “Put some ashes from the burned purification offering into a jar and pour fresh water over them. Then a man who is ceremonially clean is to take some hyssop, dip it in the water and sprinkle . . . anyone who has touched a human bone or a grave or anyone who has been killed or anyone who has died a natural death” (verses 17–18).

The commands concerning the red heifer were yet another foreshadowing of the sacrifice of Christ for believers’ sin. The Lord Jesus was “without blemish,” just as the red heifer was to be. As the heifer was sacrificed “outside the camp” (Numbers 19:3), Jesus was crucified outside of Jerusalem (Hebrews 13:11–12). And, just as the ashes of the red heifer cleansed people from the contamination of death, so the sacrifice of Christ saves us from the penalty and corruption of death.

The red heifer ritual as established in the Mosaic Law was fairly simple; in the interval since that time, Judaism has added many standards and extra criteria. Talmudic tradition speaks of the type of rope the red heifer was to be bound with, the direction it was to face when being slaughtered, the words spoken by the priest, the wearing of sandals during the ritual, etc. The rabbinical rules listed many things that would disqualify a red heifer from being sacrificed: if she had been ridden or leaned on, if she had a garment placed over her, if a bird had rested on her, and if she had two black or white hairs, among many other conditions not found in the biblical text.

According to the futurist timeline of eschatology, there will indeed be a third temple of God in Jerusalem. Jesus prophesied a desecration of the temple to occur Before the Great tribulation (Matthew 24:15; cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:4); for that to happen, there obviously will need to be a temple (Rev 11) . Assuming those who dedicate the end-times temple follow Jewish law, they will need the ashes of a red heifer, mixed with water, for the ceremonial cleansing. If a blemish-free red heifer has truly been found and is in Israel, that could be one more piece falling into place for the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

Must a red heifer be found before the temple is rebuilt? Not necessarily, although temple advocates certainly want one for ceremonial purposes. Are animal sacrifices of any type required today? No, Jesus fulfilled all the requirements of the law, and His sacrifice provides true forgiveness and life eternal.

Scripture explicitly contrasts the red heifer ceremony with the greater sacrifice of Christ: “The ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!” (Hebrews 9:13–14).

Volgens rabbynse tradisie is daar sedert Moses se tyd nege rooi verse geoffer.

Daily Devotional

DOING THE WILL OF THE FATHER

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21)

In Luke 6: 46, Jesus said, “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”
If Jesus is so adamant about us doing the will of His father, why then do we battle so much to do His will. To understand this, we need to realize that there are those who acknowledges the existence of God and even call out His name but who does not recognize Him as Saviour, Redeemer, and Lord. It is therefore of utmost importance that we make the One we call Lord, Lord above all and Lord over all our lives. We must allow Him to be King and give Him rulership over us.

But what is the will of God for us?

  • It is God’s will that we repent of our sins, believe in salvation through Jesus Christ, and accept God’s gift of salvation through faith. (See 1 John 1:9, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-9)

  • It is God’s will that we abide in Him or draw near to Him. (See John 15:5 and James 4:8–10)

  • It is God’s will that we lay down our former way of life, to put off our old selves, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, to be made new in the attitude of our minds and to put on new selves, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24)

  • It is God’s will that we life holy (pure) lives. In 1 Peter 1:15-16,  we are instructed to be holy because the Lord our God is holy.

  • It is God’s will that we love both God and our neighbours. In Mark 12:30-31 Jesus said that we should love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind and with all our strength and to love our neighbours as ourselves.

  • Lastly, it is God’s will that we spread the Gospel of Salvation through Jesus Christ. (See Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:19-20) Bear in mind that this Jesus worth serving is the Jesus worth sharing.

Let not the Lord say, “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”  Let us one day be entitled to enter heaven because we have done the will of our Father in heaven.

Vandag se Toewyding / Bemoediging

“OM DIE WIL VAN DIE VADER TE DOEN”

“Nie elkeen wat vir My sê: Here, Here! sal ingaan in die koninkryk van die hemele nie, maar hy wat die wil doen van my Vader wat in die hemele is.” (Matteus 7:21)

In Lukas 6:46 het Jesus gesê: “En wat noem julle My: Here, Here! en doen nie wat Ek sê nie? ”

Bible Prophecy in the News

New Australian Law Makes Certain Prayers ‘Unlawful’

As Vice President J.D. Vance warns about the suppression of Christians’ free speech rights, a new law in a Western nation makes “praying with or over a person” in some circumstances “unlawful even if that person has asked you to pray for them.” Making the wrong kind of intercession for someone in this U.S. ally could land a believer up to five years in prison.

The government of the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) explains the newly enacted Conversion Practices Ban Act 2024 allows “prayer” or expression of any “religious belief” only if it is not “directed to changing or suppressing an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” The bill — which took effect last Friday, April 4 — bans any speech the government classifies as attempting to change someone’s LGBTQIA2S+ status, with a maximum penalty of “imprisonment for 5 years.”

“The Conversion Practices Ban Act 2024 does not prohibit prayer. However, praying with or over a person with the intent to change or suppress their sexuality or gender identity is unlawful. It is unlawful even if that person has asked you to pray for them to be able to change or suppress their sexuality or gender identity,” explains Anti-Discrimination NSW, the state government body that fields discrimination complaints under the law. (It also has “investigation, education and research functions.”)

Christian clergy have the right to make “statements of belief or principle about gender, sexuality, marriage, celibacy or homosexuality in documentation or on a website” or to hold studies about those topics — but only “as long as the statement is not targeted at an individual to change or suppress their sexual orientation or gender identity.”

Presumably, the law would criminalize someone who said a word as short as “repent.”

These kinds of “prayer or pastoral conversations” are “damaging to the whole community,” states an explainer video from Anti-Discrimination NSW. “Faith and [LGBTW] identity are not mutually exclusive.”

“This is a terrible new law in this Australian state, and they aren’t even trying to hide it,” Arielle Del Turco, director of the Center for Religious Liberty at Family Research Council and co-author of “Heroic Faith: Hope Amid Global Persecution,” told The Washington Stand. “According to the state government’s own admission from their website, this law will prevent a pastor or any believer from praying with someone who is asking for prayer for freedom from gender identity issues.”

“What right does this state government have to ban someone from praying for a person who is specifically asking for it?” asked Del Turco. “It’s difficult to think of a more obvious violation of religious freedom.”

Lawmakers rushed the bill through the assembly with just 24 hours deliberation, according to Christian Schools Australia. Chris Minns, premier (governor) of New South Wales and a member of the Labour Party, signed it. Alex Greenwich, an independent member of the Legislative Assembly who identifies as LGBT, authored the bill in the name of “equality,” insisting, “We should not have a situation where children are being told something is wrong with them and that they need to be fixed.”

“This isn’t equality. This is a radical apostasy law — criminalising conversion one way while promoting it the other,” agreed Kurt Mahlburg, a writer for the Australian Christian website, The Daily Declaration. He cited a number of Bible verses instructing believers to repent and change their ways (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Ephesians 4:22-24; and Colossians 3:5-10).

The bill comes as Vice President J.D. Vance warned of the West’s “backslide away from conscience rights” and “deterioration of fundamental freedoms” at the Munich Security Conference on February 14. He specifically stated that multiple European governments’ have “placed the basic liberties of religious believers in the crosshairs.”

For instance, the Scottish government sent a letter threatening any resident who prays “in a private place (such as a house)” if the prayers “can be seen or heard” within a free speech restriction zone that surrounds abortion facilities. The government will punish such prayers if the Christian is deemed to have prayed “intentionally or recklessly.”

Del Turco chronicled numerous additional instances in a new FRC study released last week titled “Is Prayer a Crime? Government Restrictions on Prayer in Europe.” Her report highlighted the stories of eight British Christians arrested for praying outside abortion facilities, often silently.

Similar “conversion therapy” bans may be coming throughout the West. Laying out the legislative priorities of Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, King Charles announced in his King’s Speech last summer, “A draft bill will be brought forward to ban conversion practices.”

IN THE NEWS

The Article Reads – According to Jewish tradition, the Gate of Mercy, sealed since 1541, is the gate that Messiah will come through!

Gate of Mercy (aka Shushan Gate and Eastern Gate)

“Be exceedingly happy, O daughter of Zion; Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem. Behold! Your king (Messiah) shall come to you. He is just and victorious; humble, and riding a donkey and a foal, the offspring of [one of] she-donkeys (Zechariah 9:9)”

“And you shall give it to Eleazar the kohen, and he shall take it outside the camp (via the Eastern Gate) and slaughter it in his presence (Number 19:3)”

“The he-goat shall thus carry upon itself all their sins to a precipitous land, and he shall send off the he- goat (via the Eastern Gate) into the desert (Leviticus 16:22)”

“The he-goat shall thus carry upon itself all their sins to a precipitous land, and he shall send off the he- goat(via the Eastern Gate) into the desert (Leviticus 16:22)”

Today we are exploring one of the most significant (though unfrequently visited) sites in the country, the Gate of Mercy, which is now sealed but leads to the top of the Temple Mount. What makes this site so important is not just because of its history, but also its future! That is because (according to Jewish tradition) this is where Mashiach (Messiah) will enter to redeem Israel.

The Gate is found on the eastern wall of Jerusalem’s Old City, which is by the far the oldest wall. Whereas most of the current walls surrounding the Old City are from the Ottomans in the 16th century, the visible bottom parts of the wall are from the Hasmonean period (circa 100 BCE), and the top parts are from the times of Herod (circa 20 BCE).

In the days of King Solomon (who built the First Temple), an eastern gate existed which led to the Temple Mount. It is believed to be close to the current gate, although it was destroyed by the Babylonians in 422 BCE (some historians say 586 BCE) along with the holy Temple. In 371 BCE, the Jews once again returned to Israel and rebuilt the Temple.

In 355 BCE after a wave Jewish immigration back to Israel, Nehemiah rebuilt the city walls of Jerusalem. This included the construction of the Shushan (Eastern) Gate, named after the capital city of Persia, the empire who ruled Israel at that time. The Eastern gate even had a design of Shushan on it. According to Jewish sources, this was ordered by Persia so that the people would remember that they were living under Persian rule, and not to rebel. The gate led directly to the Temple Mount, and through it the High Priest lead the red heifer, an extremely rare cow, to the Mount of Olives. Due to the Torah specifications of what constitutes a red cow, only 9 have ever existed and in the days of Messiah, a 10th is to be found. The red heifer was slaughtered, with his remains being burned. The ashes of the animal would then be mixed with a special water, and then sprinkled on someone who had been impure (for example being near a corpse) in order to purify him. This was an extremely important procedure, otherwise anyone who had ever been to a cemetery (or been in place where someone died while he was there) could not enter the Temple until they were purified (see Numbers 19 for more on the Red Heifer).

It was also through this gate on Yom Kippur (the holiest day of the year except for Shabbat) where the High Priest sent off the he-goat who had the lot on him which read “To Azazel”. The goat would be brought to Azazel, a mountain in the Judean Desert, and killed. This was a very important commandment and an essential aspect in the atonement service of Yom Kippur (see Leviticus 16).

The Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE. In the 7th century (some say the end of the Byzantine Empire, while others say the early Islamic period) a new gate (Mercy Gate) was built on top of the ruins of the Shushan Gate
According to Jewish tradition, Mashiach will enter the city via the Mercy Gate and rebuild the Temple. In 1541 the Ottoman Turks who had just finished building the (current) City Walls of Jerusalem, sealed the gate in order to prevent the Messiah from entering and redeeming Israel. (The fact that they invested so many resources for this, clearly indicates that they also believed in the coming of Messiah). A Muslim cemetery was also placed there to prevent Elijah the Prophet, a Kohen (Priest) from heralding in Messiah (according to Torah law, a priest cannot enter a cemetery). Ironically, unbeknownst to the Turkish government at that time, a priest may enter a non-Jewish cemetery, so this graveyard does not hinder anything! END OF ARTICLE

PASTOR DIRK SAYS

NOTE : THAT THE JEWISH MESSIAH THE JEWS ARE WAITING FOR IS NOT JESUS AT HIS 2ND COMING . THE JEWISH MESSIAH THE JEWS WILL GET IS THEE ANTICHRIST !!!!!!

The Misunderstanding of the Eastern Gate- By Pastor Dirk

The Old City of Jerusalem is surrounded by a wall containing eight major gates. Moving counter-clockwise from the northern-most gate are Herod’s Gate, the Damascus Gate, the New Gate, Jaffa Gate, Zion Gate, the Dung Gate, the Eastern Gate, and the Lions’ Gate. The Eastern Gate, facing the Mount of Olives across the Kidron Valley, is unique in that it is completely sealed shut. Some commentators see the Eastern Gate’s obstruction as a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Yes it is fulfillment of bible Prophecy what not what was told . Find the Truth with me !

The Eastern Gate of Jerusalem is also called the Golden Gate or the Beautiful Gate.
Act 3:2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

In Hebrew, it is Sha’ar Harahamim, the “Gate of Mercy.” It is currently the oldest gate in the Old City, having been constructed in the 6th or 7th century AD. Also, it is the gate that gives the most direct access to the temple mount—if a person could pass through the arches of the Eastern Gate, he would be very close to where the Jewish temple used to stand. When Jesus entered Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives in Matthew 21, He used a gate in the same location as the current Eastern or Golden Gate.

Mat 21:10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

The Eastern Gate was sealed shut in AD 1540–41 by order of Suleiman the Magnificent, a sultan of the Ottoman Empire. It’s believed that the reason for the closing of the Eastern Gate was to prevent the Jewish Messiah from gaining entrance to Jerusalem.

Jewish tradition states that the Messiah will pass through the Eastern Gate when He comes to rule. The Muslim Suleiman was attempting to thwart the Messiah’s plans with sixteen feet of cement. The Eastern Gate has remained sealed for nearly the past 500 years.

It’s the sealing of Jerusalem’s Eastern Gate that has caused many students of prophecy to sit up and take notice. The book of Ezekiel contains several references to a gate that faces east. In Ezekiel 10:18–19, the prophet sees the glory of the Lord leave the temple through “the entrance of the east gate of the Lord’s house”; the glory then moves east of the city to the Mount of Olives (Ezekiel 11:23). Later, Ezekiel sees the glory of the Lord return to the temple via “the gate facing east” (Ezekiel 43:1–5).

Eze 10:18 Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.
19 And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD’S house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

Eze 11:23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

Eze 43:1 Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east:
2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.
3 And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face.
4 And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
5 So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.

Then, in Ezekiel 44:1–2, we read of the gate being closed: “The man brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, the one facing east, and it was shut. The Lord said to me, ‘This gate is to remain shut. It must not be opened; no one may enter through it. It is to remain shut because the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered through it.’” Finally, in Ezekiel 46:12 we read that there is one person, a “prince,” who may enter via the eastern gate: “When the prince provides a freewill offering to the LORD . . . the gate facing east is to be opened for him. . . . Then he shall go out, and after he has gone out, the gate will be shut.”

Some interpret these passages in Ezekiel as references to the Lord Jesus Christ. The glory of the Lord coming into the temple is seen as the triumphal entry (Ezekiel 43:2; Matthew 21:1–11). The command to permanently shut the gate because the Lord has entered it (Ezekiel 44:2) is seen as a prediction of the walling-up of the Eastern Gate by the Muslims in AD 1540.

And, finally, the “prince” to whom the gate will be opened (Ezekiel 46:12) is seen as Christ Himself at the second coming—the Prince of Peace will return to the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4) and enter Jerusalem by way of the re-opened Eastern Gate. This is not Jesus but the Antichrist.

Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

This interpretation is popular and leads to much dramatic speculation about how and when the Eastern Gate will be unsealed. However, there are some textual problems with that interpretation.

First, there is a difficulty in connecting Ezekiel’s “gate facing east” with the Eastern Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem. Ezekiel specifically says the gate he saw is “the outer gate of the sanctuary” (Ezekiel 44:1); that is, it’s a gate of the temple court, not a gate of the city.

Second, the Eastern Gate of Jerusalem is not the same one that Jesus rode through in His triumphal entry. The modern Eastern Gate was not constructed until centuries after the time of Christ. The original gate that Nehemiah built (and possibly dating to the time of Solomon) is underground, below the current gate, as documented by archaeologist James Fleming in 1969. It was through the lower gate (now underground) that Jesus would have entered Jerusalem in AD 30.

Third, the temple that Ezekiel sees in chapters 40–47 is not the same temple that Jesus was in, and the Jerusalem he describes is quite different from the Old City of Jerusalem that we know of today.

Finally, and most importantly, the “prince” in Ezekiel 46 is not the Real Messiah. But Rather the Jewish Messiah that becomes the antichrist, he is the overseer of Jerusalem during the Great Tribulation. He is not Jesus, We know that this prince is not the Lord because he must make a sin offering for himself as well as the people: “On that day the prince is to provide a bull as a sin offering for himself and for all the people of the land” (Ezekiel 45:22). Whoever the prince is, he is a man with a sin nature that must be atoned for.

Eze 45:22 And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a sin offering.

The Real Messiah “Jesus Christ” is sin free!!!!

In summary, the “gate facing east” that Ezekiel describes is different from the Eastern Gate visible today in the old wall of Jerusalem. The current (sealed) gate did not exist at the time of Christ, so the Lord never entered it. The location of the earlier Eastern Gate (the one Jesus entered) is below present-day ground level, and it does not agree with the detailed description of the future temple complex as given in Ezekiel 40–42.

We surmise, then, that the eastern gate of Ezekiel 44 will be part of the future temple complex. It is yet to be built. The 3rd Jewish Temple of Revelation 11.

Rev 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

When Jesus returns at His 2nd Coming the Earth will stop spinning and major disaster across Jerusalem and the World. No gates will stand, Rev 6 , the 6th Seal.

Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Jesus did mention This

Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

SIGNS OF THE TIMES

Smart Cities: Pathway To Global Surveillance

Once upon a time, long before the Covid-19 lockdowns, the West pretended to be concerned about things such as freedom, the right to privacy, and the dangers of surveillance and data harvesting from its citizens. China’s surveillance police state was, at least publicly, mostly described as an abomination that threatened human rights — not an example to emulate.

Sadly, that no longer seems to be the case. For years, in the name of environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, safety and convenience, the United Nations and the World Economic Forum (WEF), led by Klaus Schwab, have been promoting global surveillance in the form of so-called “smart cities.” In China, already by 2018, there were more than 500 smart cities in place.

During Covid-19, the UN and the WEF came up with a slogan: “Build back better” – recycled by then US President Joe Biden. Countless national leaders, like little programmed UN/WEF bots, endlessly repeated the slogan, while most unsuspecting citizens had no idea what it meant.

National leaders began thanking the Covid-19 pandemic for offering a once-in-a-lifetime “opportunity to build back better” from the destruction that their very own Covid-19 policies – notably the lockdowns – had wrought. Biden introduced a trillion dollar Build Back Better Plan, having as one of its highest priorities, “the fight against climate change,” through building “smart infrastructure.”

The WEF, far from hiding its communist aspirations, argued in a paper that capitalism itself would have to be “reinvented.” As is common knowledge, Schwab appears to be a great admirer of the Chinese Communist state, which he praised in 2022 as a “model” to emulate. “I think we should be very careful in imposing systems. But the Chinese model is certainly a very attractive model for quite a number of countries,” Schwab said on Chinese state television.

The way to “build back better”, according to the UN and the WEF, is to establish “smart cities”:

“More than 90 per cent of COVID-19 cases have been occurring in urban areas that have become the epicenter of the pandemic… Now is our chance to recover better, by building more resilient, inclusive and sustainable cities. Innovations and technologies such as the internet of things (IoT) or artificial intelligence (AI) provide the possibility of upgrading urban services and achieving greater administrative efficiency. The concept of ‘smart cities’, which can help stimulate inclusive growth, promote social inclusion, decrease traffic congestion, combat crimes, improve resilience during natural disasters and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, has a potential as a solution to urban problems both in developing and developed countries.”

Schwab likened “climate change” to Covid 19, even calling it a “virus” in December 2024:

“So is an awareness now, generally, it’s generally accepted that, climate change, if we do not tackle it, could be the next big, let’s say virus, with much more damaging and long term consequences, compared to COVID 19.”

On paper, the smart city is usually promoted as a techno-utopian blessing. National Geographic, in a text for children, defines it this way:

“A smart city, then, is a city in which a suite of sensors (typically hundreds or thousands) is deployed to collect electronic data from and about people and infrastructure so as to improve efficiency and quality of life. Residents and city workers, in turn, may be provided with apps that allow them to access city services, receive and issue reports of outages, accidents, and crimes, pay taxes, fees, and the like. In the smart city, energy efficiency and sustainability are emphasized.”

In reality, the purpose of the smart city, as seen by its widespread use in China, has little to do with improving quality of life. Instead, it is overwhelmingly about state surveillance, followed by total monitoring and control of the inhabitants and the uninhibited extraction of their data for its system of social credits. According to MIT Technology Review:

“The government seems to believe that all these problems are loosely tied to a lack of trust, and that building trust requires a one-size-fits-all solution. So just as financial credit scoring helps assess a person’s creditworthiness, it thinks, some form of ‘social credit’ can help people assess others’ trustworthiness in other respects.”

National Geographic’s propaganda about the benefits of smart cities spookily echoes how Chinese Communists promoted the smart city when it was still in its infancy. Mayor Chen Xinfa of Karamay, a city in Xinjiang, said in 2012:

“Information technology is not just about technology. It should be integrated with all aspects of life in our city and make people’s lives more convenient. The ‘smart city’ could also alert city leaders like me to what needs to be done urgently regarding city management or emergencies. For Karamay, it’s not the future, but what’s happening now,”

Xinjiang is an “autonomous region” in China where ethnic Uyghurs were among the first in the country to be monitored with surveillance and facial recognition technology 24/7.

Smart cities, in fact, are a Chinese Communist idea, established by the Chinese government in its 12th Five-Year Plan, issued in 2011.

In China, smart cities have been purposely developed into terrifying tyrannical nightmares. In many cities, including Shanghai and Hangzhou, every district has a data-hub, known as a so-called “City Brain,” that monitors and stores unbelievable amounts of information about all citizens.

The data is gathered by millions and millions of surveillance cameras with facial recognition technology, aided by artificial intelligence. They all feed in the smallest details, such as whether a construction worker is wearing his helmet on the job, wrongful disposal of garbage and other minute offenses. Police patrols access the monitoring systems through a mobile app, to enable them to act immediately against any offenses of the law.

This same “smart” system is being advanced everywhere in China. According to Deutsche Welle, “Chinese state media boasts that police can identify every single person on the street in just one second.” Chinese citizens are monitored throughout every step of their daily lives, even when entering their own apartment buildings: During lockdowns, police could immediately respond to anyone who dared defy the prohibition against going outdoors.

Offenses lead a citizen to receive a low social credit score, which in turn can lead to blacklisting from traveling on airplanes and high-speed trains, a ban on leaving the country, denial of access to services and even being barred from renting an apartment. This is the Chinese system which Schwab so openly admires.

These totalitarian, horrifying aspects of smart cities, which Schwab and the WEF globalists appear so to admire, and their origin, are rarely, if ever, mentioned in mainstream media descriptions of the concept. According to a 2024 World Population Review article:

“With the growing urban population around the world, smart cities and their technology allow governments to monitor and improve the financial, social and environmental aspects of life for its residents and visitors, making life more enjoyable, efficient, and sustainable. Public and private companies and federal, state, and city governments are working together to make smart cities possible.

“Smart cities started in Europe with early adopters being Barcelona and Amsterdam… In the United States, San Francisco, Atlanta, New York City, Miami, Denver, Boston, Columbus, Chicago, and Kansas City were among the first US smart cities.”

No mention of China and its more than 500 smart cities, because that might make people start questioning the plan. Better to pretend that it is a European concept.

Mobile Magazine, in 2023, falsely claimed that “the top 10 smart cities setting the pace of global innovation” are located in Europe, followed by the US, and that “there are currently more than 140 smart cities across the world” — completely omitting any mention of China and its more than 500 smart cities.

Back in 2014, when public debate on the issue still included criticism of Chinese smart cities, the US-China Business Council wrote:

“More ominously, such systems offer an unprecedented level of surveillance and control of public spaces, and a means to assemble a tremendous amount of data on individual citizens. Worldwide, cities are still in the early stages of understanding and managing the capabilities these systems can provide, and smart city technology companies have also not been as proactive as they could be in addressing privacy and data security issues. In China, there has been little or no public discussion of this facet of the smart city vision, and some international companies, such as Cisco, have been criticized in their home markets for supplying China with surveillance technology.”

Today, apparently, nobody worries about surveillance technology. It is all part of the “new normal” or in the words of the WEF: “The Great Reset.”

“The COVID-19 crisis has shown us that our old systems are not fit any more for the 21st century,” said Schwab in 2020. “In short, we need a great reset.”

According to the WEF – and, oddly, billionaire King Charles, who was the WEF’s partner in launching this effort – we need a “better form of capitalism” and for that the WEF is bringing “the world’s best minds together to seek a better, fairer, greener, healthier planet as we rebuild from the pandemic.”

The WEF’s role in driving smart cities globally is key. The WEF, for instance, despite being elected by nobody, leads the 2022 G-20 smart cities initiative, which it describes as follows:

“Led by the World Economic Forum, the G20 Global Smart Cities Alliance on Technology Governance is the largest global initiative aiming at ensuring responsible and ethical use of smart city technologies.

“It is developing, testing, and implementing global standards and policies to ensure that data collected in public places is used safely and ethically, mitigate potential risks and foster public trust.”

But who is watching the watchers? The entire concept is based on the fox watching the henhouse.

The unelected Schwab also holds a prominent seat at the G20 meetings for reasons that are entirely unclear but might be because, back in the day, several of the leaders of G20 countries were put through his Young Global Leaders program. Schwab famously bragged in a 2017 interview that the WEF was penetrating the political leadership of nation-states:

“What we are very proud of now, the young generation like Prime Minister Trudeau, President of Argentina and so on, that we penetrate to cabinets. So yesterday, I was at a reception for Prime Minister Trudeau and I know that half of his cabinet or even more than half of his cabinet are… actually our young global leaders of the World Economic Forum.”

Other Young Global Leaders graduates include French President Emmanuel Macron, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, former Prime Minister of Ireland Leo Varadkar, former Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, numerous government ministers from around the world, European royalty, and business and cultural leaders.

Schwab has made it clear that he and his political and business cohorts have a grim, all-encompassing grip in store for the free world – total surveillance, total control.

Schwab’s own yearly Davos meetings, in which the world’s political, business and cultural elites hold secret meetings about the future of the world without facing any critical questions, are — obviously — not subject to any form of transparency. The WEF is apparently so fearful of criticism and transparency that it has turned off comments on its own X account.

Elected leaders, ostensibly in Davos to take care of “we the people’s” interests, continue to worship at Schwab’s altar nevertheless. They flock to his annual January meeting there, presumably in the hope that they, the anointed, will be the chosen to be the rulers in his elite global politburo.

Perhaps they, like Schwab, want total control. If anything, the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic by world leaders, especially those in the West, proved beyond any doubt that they were salivating to adopt the Chinese Communist Party’s values in a heartbeat: extreme lockdowns, closing “small” people’s businesses while allowing “big box stores” to open, preventing children from going to school, controlling people’s access to public and private spaces, monitoring their movements, fining them for “violating” lockdowns, enforcing mask mandates and making vaccines mandatory.

Some countries, such as Australia, even put people suspected of having Covid-19 into quarantine camps. When some of them, who had tested negative for Covid-19 the day before, tried to escape, they were arrested at a nearby police checkpoint that had been set up for that purpose.

All these fundamentally totalitarian measures were adopted by so-called democratic leaders in the name of “health.”

Transformation And Revival In A Country That Once Persecuted Christians

Last month more than 430,000 people gathered to hear Franklin Graham preach the Gospel in Meskel Square, a vast, outdoor venue in the center of the city. This is the same square that was once used for military parades to support regimes that had persecuted and imprisoned Christians for refusing to recant their faith.

In 1960, 12,000 people gathered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to hear Billy Graham during his preaching tour across Africa. Sixty-five years–to the day–after Mr. Graham’s visit to Ethiopia’s capital, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) launched a two-day Encountering God outreach that drew more than 430,000 people to hear Franklin Graham preach the Gospel in Meskel Square, a vast, outdoor venue in the center of the city.

Gog and Magog Update.

Israel has begin to sound the alarm over Egyptian violations of the Camp David Peace Treaty signed between Israel and Egypt by increasing the amount of tanks and troops in the Sinai desert. These troops are conveniently placed near to the Gaza Strip.

As the IDF continues to take more land in the Gaza Strip – expelling the so called “civilians” from each area, Israel’s Defense Minister Yisrael Katz issued what is being perceived as a final warning to Hamas and the overwhelming population in Gaza that support it.

INTRODUCTION TO YOUR BIBLE

Summary of the Book of Judges
Author:
The Book of Judges does not specifically name its author. The tradition is that
the Prophet Samuel was the author of Judges. Internal evidence indicates that the
author of Judges lived shortly after the period of the Judges. Samuel fits this
qualification. Full article: Who wrote the book of Judges? Who was the author of
Judges?
Date of Writing: The Book of Judges was likely written between 1045 and 1000 B.C.
Purpose of Writing: The Book of Judges can be divided into two sections: 1) Chapters
1-16 which gives an account of the wars of deliverance beginning with the Israelites’
defeat of the Canaanites and ending with the defeat of the Philistines and the death of
Samson; 2) Chapters 17-21 which is referred to as an appendix and does not relate to
the previous chapters. These chapters are noted as a time “when there was no king in
Israel (Judges 17:6; 18:1; 19:1; 21:25).” The Book of Ruth was originally a part of the Book
of Judges, but in A.D. 450 it was removed to become a book of its own.
Key Verses:
Judges 2:16-19: “Then the LORD raised up judges, who saved them out of the hands of
these raiders. Yet they would not listen to their judges but prostituted themselves to
other gods and worshiped them. Unlike their fathers, they quickly turned from the way
in which their fathers had walked, the way of obedience to the LORD’s commands.
Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved them
out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived; for the LORD had
compassion on them as they groaned under those who oppressed and afflicted them.
But when the judge died, the people returned to ways even more corrupt than those of
their fathers, following other gods and serving and worshiping them. They refused to
give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.”
Judges 10:15: “But the Israelites said to the LORD, ‘We have sinned. Do with us whatever
you think best, but please rescue us now.’”
Judges 21:25: “In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.”
Brief Summary: The Book of Judges covers about 330 years of Israel’s history (c. 1383
BC to c. 1052 BC) and is a tragic account of how Yahweh [God] was taken for granted by
His children year after year, century after century. Judges is a sad contrast to the book of
Joshua which chronicles the blessings God bestowed on the Israelites for their
obedience in conquering the land. In Judges, they were disobedient and idolatrous,
leading to their many defeats. Yet God has never failed to open His arms in love to His
people whenever they repent from their wicked ways and call upon His name (Judges
2:18). Through the twelve judges of Israel, God honored His promise to Abraham to
protect and bless his offspring (Genesis 12:2-3).
After the death of Joshua and his contemporaries, the Israelites returned to serving Baal
and Ashtaroth. God allowed the Israelites to suffer the consequences of worshiping false
gods. It was then that the people of God would cry out to Yahweh for help. God sent His
children judges to lead them in righteous living. But time after time they would turn
their backs on God and return to their lives of wickedness. However, keeping His part of
the covenant with Abraham, God would save His people from their oppressors
throughout the 480-year span of the Book of Judges.
Probably the most notable judge was the 12th judge, Samson, who came to lead the
Israelites after a 40-year captivity under the rule of the ruthless Philistines. Samson led
God’s people to victory over the Philistines where he lost his own life after 20 years as
judge of Israel.
Foreshadowings: The announcement to Samson’s mother that she would bear a son to
lead Israel is a foreshadowing of the announcement to Mary of the birth of the Messiah.
God sent His Angel to both women and told them they would “conceive and bear a son”
(Judges 13:7; Luke 1:31) who would lead God’s people.
God’s compassionate delivery of His people despite their sin and rejection of Him
presents a picture of Christ on the cross. Jesus died to deliver His people—all who
would ever believe in Him—from their sin. Although most of those who followed Him
during His ministry would eventually fall away and reject Him, still He remained faithful
to His promise and went to the cross to die for us.
Practical Application: Disobedience always brings judgment. The Israelites present a
perfect example of what we are not to do. Instead of learning from experience that God
will always punish rebellion against Him, they continued to disobey and suffer God’s
displeasure and discipline. If we continue in disobedience, we invite God’s discipline, not
because He enjoys our suffering, but “because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and
he punishes everyone he accepts as a son” (Hebrews 12:6).
The Book of Judges is a testament to God’s faithfulness. Even “if we are faithless, He will
remain faithful” (2 Timothy 2:13). Though we may be unfaithful to Him, as the Israelites
were, still He is faithful to save us and preserve us (1 Thessalonians 5:24) and to forgive
us when we seek forgiveness (1 John 1:9). “He will keep you strong to the end, so that
you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called you into
fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful” (1 Corinthians 1:8-9).

. Rigters is ‘n hartseer
Praktiese toepassing: Ongehoorsaamheid bring altyd oordeel.
