Prayer Tips

Prayer Develops Our Relationship with God.
If we never speak to our spouse or never listen to anything our spouse might have to say to us, our marriage relationship will quickly deteriorate. It is the same way with God. Prayer is communicating with God and it helps us to grow closer and more intimately connected with God.

Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Zechariah 13:9 “I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure, just as gold and silver are refined and purified by fire. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’

John 15:7 But if you stay joined to me and my words remain in you, you may ask any request you like, and it will be granted!

Gebed

Vergewe my asseblief my sondes, net soos ek dié vergewe het wat teen my gesondig het.
God stort asseblief U seëninge oor my uit! Vergroot my grondgebied!

Neem my en my gesin onder U beskerming! Here.

God gee my net my daaglikse brood, en bou in my, om nie oor bekommerd te wees nie

Gebed Wenke

Mat 18:20 Want waar twee of drie in my Naam vergader, daar is Ek in hulle midde.

Bible Teaching of the Day

Concentrate on the Cross – Part 4

Lessons to Learn from the thief on the cross.

When seeking what we can learn from the thief on the cross, it should be remembered that at the time of Jesus’ crucifixion, two thieves were crucified beside Him (Luke 23:33–43), and both began their time on the cross by mocking and blaspheming Him (Matthew 27:44; Mark 15:32), as did many of the spectators. One of the thieves responded in faith to the message of salvation and was taken to paradise that very day. He is the one usually referred to as the thief on the cross. The man on the cross on the other side of Jesus never repented, as far as we know. So, at Calvary we have a picture of the two possible responses people can have to the Savior.

It is remarkable that, while in the excruciating and mind-numbing torment of the cross, the Son of Man had the heart, mind, and will to pray for others. Yet it is a miracle that one thief, while in agony himself, heard the Spirit of God call him to repentance and acceptance of the forgiveness God was just about to provide through the death of Christ. While the disciples were abandoning the Lord, this man answered the call, and his sins were forgiven, including his blasphemy against the Son of God (Luke 5:31-32, 12:8–10).

That the other thief rejected Jesus is remarkable in its own right. While being tortured on the cross he literally joined his torturers in insulting the Savior of the world, and he most likely did so because he wanted his torturers to think he was just like them, joined to the world and with no love for God (Matthew 27:44). Not only was this man next to the Savior, he heard Him pray, he witnessed the salvation of the other thief, he saw the world go dark, and he heard the testimony of the Son. But his pride kept him from submitting to the only One who could save him, and when he one day bows to the Name he mocked, he will be doing so reluctantly and while in torment (Philippians 2:10).

What we learn from the saved thief on the cross is that we are all sinners in need of a Savior, and no matter the number of our sins and no matter if we, or the world, think our sins are minor or extreme, it is never too late to repent and accept the free gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:8–9; Revelation 22:17). Moreover, as long as someone still has a mind and the will to choose life over death (Hebrews 9:27), it is not too late to proclaim the gospel, which hopefully will open a heart to a miracle by the Holy Spirit.

Bonus Teaching

Narrow the road that leads to Eternal life.

In Matthew 7:13–14, Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” This passage causes some to question the goodness of God. After all, if He really wants to save everyone, why didn’t He make it easier to be saved? Why doesn’t He simply let everyone into heaven?

When we read the word narrow, we tend to associate it with prejudicial selection. It sounds as though God has rated us all on some scale of acceptability and only allows a select few to enter His presence. However, a few verses earlier, Jesus had told the same audience, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7–8). Jesus made it clear: the path to eternal life is open to everyone who asks.

However, the gate to heaven is “narrow” in the sense of having a particular requirement for entrance—faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is found only in the Person of Jesus Christ; He is the only way (John 14:6). The “wide” gate is non-exclusive; it allows for human effort and all other of the world’s religions.

Jesus says that the narrow gate leads to a “hard” road, one that will take us through hardships and difficult decisions. Following Jesus requires crucifying our flesh (Galatians 2:20; 5:24; Romans 6:2), living by faith (Romans 1:17; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 10:38), enduring trials with Christlike patience (James 1:2–3, 12; 1 Peter 1:6), and living a lifestyle separate from the world (James 1:27; Romans 12:1–2). When faced with the choice between a narrow, bumpy road and a wide, paved highway, most of us choose the easier road. Human nature gravitates toward comfort and pleasure. When faced with the reality of denying themselves to follow Jesus, most people turn away (John 6:66). Jesus never sugar-coated the truth, and the truth is that not many people are willing to pay the price to follow Him.

God offers salvation to everyone who accepts it (John 1:12; 3:16-18; Romans 10:9; 1 John 2:2). But it is on His terms. We must come the way He has provided. We cannot create our own paths or come to a holy God based on our own efforts. Compared to His righteousness, we are all filthy (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:10). God cannot simply excuse or overlook our sin. He is merciful, but He is also just. Justice requires that sin be paid for. At great cost to Himself, He paid that price (Isaiah 53:5; 1 John 3:1, 16; Psalm 51:7). Without the blood of Jesus covering our sin, we stand guilty before the God we rejected (Romans 1:20).

The way to God was completely closed, and sin was the roadblock (Romans 5:12). No one deserves a second chance. We all deserve to stay on the “wide road that leads to destruction.” But God loved us enough to provide the path to eternal life anyway (Romans 5:6–8). However, He also knows that in our self-centered, sin-saturated world there are not many who will desire Him enough to come to Him on His terms (John 6:44, 65; Romans 3:11; Jeremiah 29:13). Satan has paved the highway to hell with fleshly temptations, worldly attractions, and moral compromises. Most people allow their passions and desires to dictate the course of their lives. They choose temporary, earthly pleasure over the self-sacrifice required in following Jesus (Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23; Matthew 10:37). The narrow gate is ignored. Most people would rather create their own religions and design their own gods. So it was with sorrow, not discrimination, that Jesus declared that the road to eternal life is “narrow, and only a few find it.”

Bonus Lering

Today’s Devotional

ACCEPTING GOD’S FORGIVENESS

Over the years I found people battling to accept God’s forgiveness.

To start with, we need to consider that God is not a man that He should lie. (See Numbers 23:19) When God promises something, His every intention is to do what He has promised, so when God says in Isaiah 43:25, “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins” he means it. (also see Hebrews 8:12)

Why then is it so difficult to accept God’s forgiveness? Let us look at five possible reasons.

Firstly, it is because we feel unworthy. And this is often associated with the fact that we feel that we do not deserve God’s love. Still, God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Secondly, it is because we believe that we have sinned so many times that God will stop forgiving us. The Bible’s answer to this is that God’s mercy endures forever and that for as long as we live, the Lord will forgive us when we confess our sins. (See Psalm 136:1-3  and 1 John 1: 9)

Thirdly, it is because we are aware that our relationship with the Lord is not what it is supposed to be or because we became estranged from the Lord. The Bible’s advice on this is that we should re-establish our relationship with the Lord, that we should draw near to God and He will draw near to us. (See James 4:8)

Fourthly, we believe that we do not need God’s forgiveness for the life we are living or the things we do is not that bad. In the Bible we read, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”  (1 John 1:8)

Fifthly, it could be that we are angry at God for allowing us to fall into sin or for not preventing us from sinning. Sometimes we believe that God is the one who should keep us from sin. According to the Word, the onus is upon us to stop sinning. In Romans 6:12-13 we are instructed not to let sin reign in our mortal body or to offer any part of ourselves as an instrument of wickedness.

Therefore, let us confess our sins and accept God’s forgiveness for, as stated in 1 John 1: 9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Vandag se Bemoediging

AANVAAR GOD SE VERGIFNIS

Bible Prophecy in the News

Every Country is Preparing for War – Western Officials Continue To Make Moves That Indicate More War Is Coming.

If there is going to be peace in the Middle East, why has the Pentagon sent 25 percent of our entire fleet of B-2 stealth bombers to the region? And if there is going to be peace in Europe, why is the European Union telling all of their citizens to store up food and water for a war with Russia?

We keep being told that everything is going to be okay, but meanwhile western officials continue to make moves that indicate that more war is coming.

According to Newsweek, the United States has “significantly increased its military presence” in the Middle East during the past couple of weeks…

The U.S. has significantly increased its military presence in both the Gulf and Indian Ocean, deploying B-2 stealth bombers, cargo planes, and aerial refueling tankers, alongside key assets like the USS Carl Vinson and USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carriers.

I am particularly concerned about the deployment of highly advanced B-2 stealth bombers to the region.

It is being reported that “at least five” B-2 stealth bombers have been deployed to the island of Diego Garcia…

The US military has sent at least five B-2 Spirit stealth bombers to highly strategic island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

These heavy bombers can obliterate targets with their huge 25 tonne bomb payload per jet.

This means the US’s deadly fleet of five could carry an astounding 125 tonnes of bombs.

For those that do not know, Afghanistan was relentlessly bombed by U.S. air assets based in Diego Garcia during the invasion of that nation in 2001, and Iraq was relentlessly bombed by U.S. air assets based in Diego Garcia during the invasion of that nation in 2003.

Currently, the U.S. only possesses 20 B-2 stealth bombers, and so that means that 25 percent of them are now in Diego Garcia.

It is being speculated that these B-2 bombers could be involved in the ongoing campaign to bomb the Houthis in Yemen, but it is important to note that these B-2 bombers would also be ideal for carrying out the sort of “bunker buster” strikes that would be necessary to take out Iran’s nuclear program…

The bombers present a unique mix of capabilities, particularly their ability to penetrate past dense enemy air defenses to carry out ‘bunker buster’ strikes employing 30,000-pound class GBU-57/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs. MOP, which only the B-2 is currently certified to employ operationally, itself offers a unique conventional option for striking deeply buried and fortified targets, of which there are many in Iran.

We do know that President Trump recently delivered a letter to the Iranians that gives them a choice with a very clear deadline.

Either the Iranians must make an agreement to end their nuclear program within two months or they will be attacked…

Recently, President Trump revealed that he had sent a letter to Tehran, demanding a new nuclear agreement within two months or face significant military consequences. With negotiations stalled and the deadline looming, the diplomatic window for de-escalation is quickly closing, leaving military action as an increasingly likely outcome.

The Iranians have already told us that they have no plans to negotiate.

So it appears that it is just a matter of time before the second option is implemented.

In a recent interview with “Face the Nation”, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz made it clear that there will be no compromises…

“Iran has to give up its program in a way that the entire world can see,” Mike Waltz, Trump’s National Security Advisor, said during a separate interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” this weekend. “It is time for Iran to walk away completely from its desire to have a nuclear weapon, and they will not and cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapons program. That is its weaponization and its strategic missiles program.”

If B-2 stealth bombers start hitting Iran’s nuclear facilities, we will officially be at war with Iran.

I hope that everyone understands the implications of that.

Meanwhile, the European Union is “pushing for every household in the 27-nation bloc” to prepare an emergency kit in case a direct war with Russia breaks out…

European Union bureaucrats are pushing for every household in the 27-nation bloc to prepare the kit for war and natural disasters.

It is expected that will be part of a union’s broader “preparedness strategy” amid the threat from Russia.

Key items they will ask the bloc’s 450 million citizens to gather includes water, energy bars and a flashlight.

Why does every home in the EU need to prepare for war with Russia if there is going to be peace?

Do EU bureaucrats know something that the rest of us do not?

Sadly, it appears that even the very limited agreements that Russia and Ukraine just agreed to are not going to hold.  The Ukrainians just launched more strikes against Russian energy infrastructure, and the Russians just keep sending waves of drone attacks at Ukrainian cities…

Overnight, Russia said it had taken down nine drones, including two over the Black Sea. It also said Ukraine tried to attack a gas storage facility in Russian-occupied Crimea and energy infrastructure in Russia’s Kursk and Bryansk regions. Ukraine said it conducted no such strikes.

Ukraine’s military reported 117 Russian drone attacks overnight. Local officials said the city of Kryvyi Rih had been hit by the biggest drone attack it has faced yet.

Hopefully both sides will come to their senses, because this is our one shot at peace.

If negotiations ultimately fail, it is inevitable that both sides will escalate matters, and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte is warning that an attack on Poland or any other NATO member “will be met with the full force of this fierce alliance”…

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte issued a stern warning to Vladimir Putin, stating that any attack on Poland or another NATO member would be met with a “devastating” response.

“If anyone were to miscalculate and think they can get away with an attack on Poland or on any other ally, they will be met with the full force of this fierce alliance. Our reaction will be devastating” he declared in Warsaw. “This has to be very clear to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and anyone else who wants to attack us.”

Those are unusually strong words.

Is he expecting something to happen?

There is one last thing that I wanted to mention today.  Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy just told European journalists that Russian President Vladimir Putin “will die soon”…

Volodymyr Zelensky has predicted that Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘will die soon’ in a candid assessment as he discussed the war on Ukraine. Speaking during a round table with journalists including the BBC’s Jeremy Bowen, the Ukrainian leader said: “He will die soon, and that’s a fact, and it will come to an end.”

What an irresponsible thing to say.

Yes, Putin has been experiencing health problems for a long time.

But if Putin does die soon, the Russians will remember what Zelenskyy just said.  At that point it would be exceedingly difficult to convince the Russians that nothing nefarious was going on, and getting both sides to agree to any sort of a peace deal would almost certainly become impossible.

We are at such a delicate moment.

The decisions that global leaders make over the next several months could dramatically alter the course of human history, and right now I am not particularly optimistic about where things are heading.

Debunking Atheists’ Big Lie: There Is No ‘War’ Between Science And Christianity

The world today seems to operate under the presumption that science and religion are both combatants in an apocalyptic struggle for survival. In this conflict, science is presented as the rational and objective underdog pitted against the irrational oversized forces of religion.

Atheist professor Jerry Coyne’s recent book title, Faith vs. Fact: Why Science and Religion are Incompatible, is an example of this type of warfare scenario. Similarly, atheist Sam Harris charges that science is a completely factual enterprise, whereas “theology is now little more than a branch of human ignorance.”

As ingrained as this narrative may be, it is simply false. In fact, the historical record is not one of hostility. Alistair McGrath, currently the Andreos Idreos Professor of Science and Religion at the University of Oxford, has said that this “warfare view” is now “seen as a hopelessly outmoded historical stereotype which scholarship has totally discredited.” What has actually happened is that these scientists have hijacked the definition of science by insisting on a purely naturalistic (atheistic) understanding of the term.

They are philosophically committed to naturalism. This philosophical commitment guides their means of scientific inquiry which gives rise to methodological naturalism, which in practical terms often amounts to nothing more than atheism masquerading as “science.” Inquiry should be free to follow the evidence wherever it leads, whether that is ultimately to a natural cause or an intelligent cause.

The Real Story

The reality is that science and Christianity have shared a long and fruitful relationship with each other. Nowhere is this more beautifully illustrated than on the grounds of Cambridge University. The prestigious Cavendish laboratory, where such discoveries as the DNA double helix and the Neutron and Electron were made. A place which has produced over 29 Nobel Laureates. To enter, you pass through two large heavy wooden doors. On top of these doors sits a beautiful ornate carving that reads Magna opera Domini exquisite in omnes voluntates eius. This is a Bible verse from the Latin Vulgate and it is a quote from Psalm 111:2: “Great are the works of the Lord; they are studied by all who delight in them.”

Why would one of the most prestigious scientific laboratories have such a quotation at its entrance if, as we are told, science and religion are incompatible? Even more amusing is the fact that it would have been these doors that atheist scientists Francis Crick and Jim Watson rushed through in 1953, after discovering the working of DNA; they were keen to get to the pub across the street, “to tell everyone within hearing that we had found the secret of life.”

As it is, this inscription stands as a testimony to the Christian heritage that was so important in the rise of modern science. The original inscription was put there at the behest of the Cavendish Laboratory’s first professor James Clerk Maxwell. The four mathematical equations of electricity and magnetism that Maxwell produced and his work in areas such as electromagnetic theory and thermodynamics are widely believed to have paved the way for other great discoveries of 20th-century physics.

Maxwell was a believer who had extensive knowledge of the Bible and had served as an elder in the Church he helped plant in Scotland. He strongly believed that scientific research was to be conducted in light of the Bible and that such endeavors were a way to study the works of God. His biographers record a prayer, very reminiscent of Psalm 111:2, which they found amongst his papers after his death:

“Almighty God, who created man in Thine own image, and made him a living soul that he might seek after Thee and have dominion over Thy creatures, teach us to study the works of Thy hands, that we may subdue the earth to our use and strengthen the reason for Thy service; and so to receive Thy blessed Word, that we may believe on Him Whom Thou hast sent, to give us the knowledge of salvation and the remission of our sins. All of which we ask in the name of the same Jesus Christ, our Lord.”

Such a view gave rise to modern physics and is very different from the usual narrative that you hear from people today when they insist that religious believers are ignorant, keeping the world in a backward state and opposing the advancements of science at every turn.

Einstein’s Heroes

Perhaps another example will finally lay to rest this idea that science is opposed to the Bible. Most people will know the name of scientist Albert Einstein. His Theories of Relativity are fundamental to modern Physics. Of course, even the great Einstein would have had his own scientific heroes. You can learn a lot about a person by spending some time looking around their study! Einstein’s study had three pictures of his scientific heroes.

They were Isaac Newton (1642-1727), perhaps the greatest scientist who ever lived, who among other things developed the theory of universal gravitation and the three laws of motion. Then there was Michael Faraday (1791-1867), who was known for his skill at experimentation. He discovered benzene, invented the transformer, and his work also involved demonstrating that magnetism could produce electricity.

The third picture was of James Clerk Maxwell who we have already mentioned. Now there is one thing that all these great scientific minds had in common – a firm belief in the God of the Bible. All these men saw their scientific work as a way to further understand the God who created the universe. They expected the natural world to be orderly and discoverable, precisely because God is a God of order. They were all active in church life and even produced theological volumes along with their scientific works.

The Christian Roots Of Science

So much for the “warfare scenario!” In fact, the opposite appears to be true: The scientific revolution was birthed from within a Judeo-Christian framework. Why was this? Well in order to operate, science has to work with a number of assumptions about the world. These assumptions are best explained by the Christian worldview. It is the God described in the Bible that can account for the existence of a rational and orderly cosmos.

The concepts required by the scientific method, such as testable and repeatable experimentation, all assume that there is uniformity to the universe. God upholds the universe in such a consistent way, we can fully expect the universe to function according to specific laws that we can study. The great philosopher of science Alfred North Whitehead credited the origin of science to Christianity’s “insistence on the rationality of God”.

If the secular view is true, that the universe originated from nothing by random chance processes, on what basis do we expect it to operate in a predictable and uniform manner? It is almost taken for granted today by those studying science that the universe operates according to laws that are comprehensible to humans. New atheist and physicist Steven Weinberg writes that “all my experience as a physicist leads me to believe that there is order to the universe … there is a simplicity, a beauty, that we are finding in the rules that govern matter that mirrors something that is built into the logical structure of the universe at a very deep level.”

Many are struck by how strange this is and admit there is no real rational explanation for it within their atheistic worldview. Such a view is better understood as stemming from Christianity, which believes in a God who is rational, powerful and separate from His creation. This is why science blossomed in the fertile soil of the Christian west where God was envisioned as both the Creator and the Lawgiver. Christianity was long seen as the worldview that could logically account for the universe.

Gog and Magog Update

The Real Magog are Entering the Battleground ! Turkey’s Expansionism In Syria Creates New Challenges For Israel

Turkey is deepening its military and political foothold in northern and central Syria, raising significant concerns over the long-term consequences of Ankara’s ambitions for regional influence and control.

From the construction of a military base to growing engagement with the Syrian Islamist-leaning regime and a steady flow of Turkish armored vehicles into the area, Israel must now be on the lookout for threats that emanate from Sunni Turkey in a country dominated by Shi’ite Iran for many years under the previous Assad regime.

Israel’s recent series of steps in southern Syria, including ground and air operations, the setting up of multiple military posts on the Syrian side of the demilitarized zone, and the setting up of an alliance with the southern Syrian Druze population, appear designed to prevent Turkish-backed Sunni fundamentalists–or Turkish forces themselves–from moving south beyond Damascus.

Hay Eytan Cohen Yanarocak, a prominent expert on Turkey at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies at Tel Aviv University, told JNS on Wednesday that there are multiple warning signs.

“After the fall of Assad, we know that Turkey replaced Russia as the dominant player in Syria,” said Yanarocak. “When we speak about today’s Syrian regime, it is thanks to Turkey, due to Turkish changes and Turkish strategy.”

Citing a recent uptick in Turkish involvement, Yanarocak emphasized that “the Turkish intelligence organization, then the Turkish Foreign Ministry, and finally the president of Turkey met with al-Joulani [the new ‘interim’ Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, who headed Ha’at Tahrir al-Sham rebel coalition that overthrew the Assad regime]. And we actually saw the Turkish infiltration–both on the ministerial and military levels.”

Amid unconfirmed reports that Turkey was planning to build a new military base in Palmyra in central Syria, the IDF announced on March 25 that it had struck Syrian military bases in the area, including the T4 Airbase. The message to Turkey appears to have been, “Please don’t come,” said Yanarocak.

Yanarocak noted that last week, media reports stated that Turkey had begun supplying various armored vehicles to Turkish-backed elements in northern Syria. “We will see the Turkish influence, more and more,” he assessed.

“Let us not forget that Turkey has a land corridor to Syria and has not yet withdrawn from Syria–it is inside Syria. So we are only going to see more and more penetration, not the opposite.”

On March 10, the Syrian presidency announced an agreement with the head of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, based in northern Syria, to integrate the institutions of the autonomous Kurdish administration in the northeast into the national government, France 24 reported.

Yanarocak interpreted this as a signal of American withdrawal. “This will make Turkey the only solution, with Russia–if Russia remains. But if the current trend continues and the Russians leave, then Turkey will be left alone in Syria,” he said.

Turkey appears to be positioning itself through an ideological lens that frames its intervention as a form of Sunni Muslim brotherhood that transcends ethnicity, Yanarocak stated. “The Turks convey the message that we have here a shared Sunni Muslim brotherhood bond,” he stated.

As a result, Yanarocak warned, Turkish air force and ground force presence will likely begin to appear all over Syria. He stressed that such an expansion would not include meaningful Syrian input, adding, “No one really asked the Syrian people in the past what they think, and they won’t be asked now either.”

Yanarocak added, “Turkey has already penetrated Syria. The head of Turkish intelligence, Ibrahim Kalin, was the first foreign official to visit Syria and he prayed at the Umayyad Mosque. This signals a shared Sunni ideological camp. This isn’t about Turkish dominance over Arabs. It’s about a shared ideological brotherhood.

He continued, “I don’t think anyone else is willing to arm the Syrian army besides Turkey,” adding that Turkey’s military-industrial complex makes it the only realistic candidate to shape a new Syrian army. “It has many products that could fit a new Syrian army–from APCs to rifles, even combat ships.”

Former U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Eric Edelman, a Distinguished Scholar at the Washington D.C.-based Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA), told JNS on Tuesday that the new Syrian leader will have to consider a range of factors that go beyond Turkey’s interests.

“Turkey is extremely influential, but its views are not dispositive with Sharaa, at least at this point. Sharaa has many different concerns to balance and Turkey will be an important but not the sole factor for his decision calculus,” Edelman assessed.

The former ambassador added, “There will be some inherent resistance among Arabs to an overbearing effort at establishing a neo-Ottoman overlordship–something Turkish officials frequently underestimate. That said, the key will be the degree to which Turkey can establish military, and especially air bases, in Syria. That, of course, would be a significant move in the direction of Turkish overweening influence.”

Despite growing Turkish infiltration, Yanarocak argued that Israel must make efforts to deconflict with Turkey as much as possible. “Israel, to prevent any undesirable friction or incident with Turkey, must act very responsibly. The two states need to sit face to face, especially the military professionals, and clarify red lines with seriousness and mutual respect. Not to provoke or poke each other in the eye.”

He said the overarching goal should be “to prevent the escalation from spiraling into declared hostility. That is the main objective.” According to Yanarocak, “The Turkish side must also internalize that they cannot be on the Israeli-Syrian border. That is an Israeli red line. Israel will not accept this.”

In northern Syria, meanwhile, Turkey has spent years backing the SNA (Syrian National Army) and other rebel groups, which it activated to fight the Kurds of northern Syria. Israel will no doubt be watching closely to see if these entities attempt to move south.

a Word from the Sheriff of the Church for April 2025

The cross was there… but they didn’t make it.

Leaders. Warriors. Preachers. Anointed, called, even used by God. But they stopped obeying.

They let pride in. Or lust. Or the love of position. Some simply grew tired of denying themselves.

And slowly… they drifted. Until the cross was no longer near — but distant.

Unreachable. And the enemy surrounded them.

This image is not just symbolic — it’s a warning. I’ve seen it in real life.

Men who started strong but didn’t finish well. Not because God changed… but because they did.

Young men, listen. Don’t chase platforms, titles or applause. Chase the King. Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness. Take up your cross daily. Deny yourself. And stay the course — no matter the cost.

Hell is patient. But so is Heaven. Finish well.
