Prayer Tips

  • The Prayer of Jesus
Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
  • Prayer should not be a show.
  • Pray to God in privacy.
  • God know your heart’s secrets.
  • God will answer.
  • Pray orderly, don’t bubble on.
  • God know what you need, before you can ask Him, but you need to ask in prayer.
  • Pray to God.
  • Praise and worship God in Prayer.
  • Confirm that you will accept Gods will in your life.
  • Confirm to God you know He will supply your daily needs.
  • Confirm to God you have forgiven your trespassers,
  • Ask God forgiveness for your daily sins.
  • Ask God for His protection.
  • And request Him to keep you from Evil.

Bible Teaching of the Day

Concentrate on the Cross – Part 12

The concept of “dying to self” is found throughout the New Testament. It expresses the true essence of the Christian life, in which we take up our cross and follow Christ. Dying to self is part of being born again; the old self dies and the new self comes to life (John 3:3–7). Not only are Christians born again when we come to salvation, but we also continue dying to self as part of the process of sanctification. As such, dying to self is both a one-time event and a lifelong process.

Jesus spoke repeatedly to His disciples about taking up their cross (an instrument of death) and following Him. He made it clear that if any would follow Him, they must deny themselves, which means giving up their lives—spiritually, symbolically, and even physically, if necessary. This was a prerequisite for being a follower of Christ, who proclaimed that trying to save our earthly lives would result in our losing our lives in the kingdom. But those who would give up their lives for His sake would find eternal life (Matthew 16:24–25; Mark 8:34–35). Indeed, Jesus even went so far as to say that those who are unwilling to sacrifice their lives for Him cannot be His disciples (Luke 14:27).

The rite of baptism expresses the commitment of the believer to die to the old, sinful way of life (Romans 6:4–8) and be reborn to a new life in Christ. In Christian baptism, the action of being immersed in the water symbolizes dying and being buried with Christ. The action of coming out of the water pictures Christ’s resurrection. Baptism identifies us with Christ in His death and resurrection, portraying symbolically the whole life of the Christian as a dying to self and living for and in Him who died for us (Galatians 2:20).

Paul explains to the Galatians the process of dying to self as one in which he has been “crucified with Christ,” and now Paul no longer lives, but Christ lives in him. Paul’s old life, with its propensity to sin and to follow the ways of the world, is dead, and the new Paul is the dwelling place of Christ who lives in and through him. This does not mean that when we “die to self” we become inactive or insensible, nor do we feel ourselves to be dead. Rather, dying to self means that the things of the old life are put to death, most especially the sinful ways and lifestyles we once engaged in. “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24). Where we once pursued selfish pleasures, we now pursue, with equal passion, that which pleases God.

Dying to self is never portrayed in Scripture as something optional in the Christian life. It is the reality of the new birth; no one can come to Christ unless he is willing to see his old life crucified with Christ and begin to live anew in obedience to Him. Jesus describes lukewarm followers who try to live partly in the old life and partly in the new as those whom He will spit out (Revelation 3:15–16). That lukewarm condition characterized the church of Laodicea as well as many churches today. Being “lukewarm” is a symptom of unwillingness to die to self and live for Christ. Death to self is not an option for Christians; it is a choice that leads to eternal life.

Today’s Devotional

On a typical morning, I watch the sun rise. As the sun revealed itself, the darkness rolled away. Here and there, long shadows appeared on the white-washed grass as the sun’s rays cut through the cold morning mist with razor-sharp venom. And then it was light. As I think of Father God’s majestic glory, it dawns on me – God who makes the sun rise daily, who holds the earth in a perfect orbit, also thinks of you and me.

Hear what the Lord our God says through His Word:

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; and before you came forth from the womb I sanctified you. I have come that you might have life and have it abundantly. While you were yet a sinner, I, Jesus Christ, died for you. I am with you, a hero who brings salvation. I rejoice over you with joy; I am silent in my love; I exult over you with exultation.

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you; when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not kindle upon you. I will never leave you, nor forsake you. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall never hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you. For everyone who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks it will be opened. The youths grow weary and weary, and the young men stumble; but those who wait for me will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Let us therefore seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to us.

Tydens ‘n tipiese more, kyk ek hoe die son opkom.

Ek is by jou, ‘n held wat verlossing skenk. Ek verheug my oor jou met blydskap; Ek swyg in my liefde; Ek juig oor jou met gejubel.

Bible Prophecy in the News

Another Historic Trump & Netanyahu Meeting.

I don’t think an Israeli Prime Minister was ever invited to the White House so quickly before. So what is going on???

It’s actually unbelievably historic!!!

Most people today still think they’re watching a local war.

They see Gaza, Hezbollah, the Houthis, Iran etc. and think: ‘Ah, it’s just another Middle East war with the Sunni/Shia world trying to destroy Israel. It’ll pass.’

They could not be more wrong.

Signs of the Times in the News

After Meeting Trump, Netanyahu Warns Iran Deal Must Include ‘Blowing Up’ Nuclear Sites

After meeting with Netanyahu,Trump announced: “We’re having direct talks with Iran, and they’ve started… Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Tuesday about the potential perils of a nuclear deal with Iran, ahead of taking off for Israel following his meeting the previous day with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.

“We agree that Iran will not have nuclear weapons. This can be done by agreement, but only if this agreement is Libyan-style: They go in, blow up the installations, dismantle all of the equipment under American supervision and carried out by America—this would be good,” he said.

“The second possibility—that will not be—is that they drag out the talks, and then there is the military option. Everyone understands this. We spoke about this at length,” he added.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Tuesday that his government had decided to start negotiations with Washington.

“Iran and the United States will meet in Oman on Saturday for indirect high-level talks,” he wrote on X, hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the discussions set to take place in Muscat, which he called direct.

Speaking in the Oval Office after meeting Netanyahu on Monday, Trump announced: “We’re having direct talks with Iran, and they’ve started. … Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” he stressed. “If it can be done diplomatically in a full way, the way it was done in Libya, I think that would be a good thing.”

Netanyahu on Tuesday said he and Trump also discussed the ongoing war against Hamas in Gaza.

“We are determined to eliminate Hamas, and at the same time, we are determined to return all of our hostages. The president looked at me and told the journalists who were present: ‘This man is working constantly to free the hostages.’ I hope that this shatters the lie that is being circulated to the effect that I am not working for them, that I don’t care. I do care, and I am doing it, and we will be successful,” said the Israeli premier.

Netanyahu noted that he raised Trump’s vision to relocate civilians in the Gaza Strip, insisting that Jerusalem was currently in contact with several countries talking about the possibility of absorbing Palestinians.

“This is important because in the end, this is what needs to happen,” he said.

“The third issue: Turkey. Turkey wants to establish military bases in Syria, and this endangers Israel. We oppose this and are working against it. I told President Trump, who is my friend and also a friend of [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan: ‘If we are in need of your help, we will discuss it with you,’” stated the prime minister.

“The fourth and last issue: the tariffs. President Trump has asked countries to reduce their trade deficits with the U.S. to zero. I told him: ‘This is not so difficult for us. We will do it.’ This is the little that we can do for the U.S. and its president, who does so much for us,” said Netanyahu.

The prime minister concluded by stressing that it was a “very warm visit,” his second in two months since Trump assumed office, adding that “there were additional things that you will hear about later.”

Gog and Magog Update

Bibi’s lightening fast visit to visit Trump had very little to do with tariffs or Gaza. Those two issues have already been agreed upon. So what was Bibi’s visit about? One thing and one thing only: Iran.

As the IDF continues to take more land in the Gaza Strip – expelling the so called “civilians” from each area, Israel’s Defense Minister Yisrael Katz issued what is being perceived as a final warning to Hamas and the overwhelming population in Gaza that support it.

Defense Minister Yisrael Katz approved the IDF’s continuing operational plans in Gaza on a visit to the Gaza Division.

Introduction to the Bible – Bible Summary

Summary of the Book of
Numbers

Author: Moses was the author of the Book of Numbers. Full article: Who wrote the book
of Numbers? Who was the author of Numbers?
Date of Writing: The Book of Numbers was written between 1440 and 1400 B.C.
Purpose of Writing: The message of the Book of Numbers is universal and timeless. It
reminds believers of the spiritual warfare in which they are engaged, for Numbers is the
book of the service and walk of God’s people. The Book of Numbers essentially bridges
the gap between the Israelites receiving the Law (Exodus and Leviticus) and preparing
them to enter the Promised Land (Deuteronomy and Joshua).
Key Verses:
Numbers 6:24-26, “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine
upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you
peace.”
Numbers 12:6-8, “When a prophet of the LORD is among you, I reveal myself to him in
visions, I speak to him in dreams. But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful
in all my house. With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the
form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”
Numbers 14:30-34, “Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to
make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. As for your
children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land
you have rejected. But you — your bodies will fall in this desert. Your children will be
shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your
bodies lies in the desert. For forty years — one year for each of the forty days you
explored the land — you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me
against you.'”
Brief Summary: Most of the events of the Book of Numbers take place in the
wilderness, primarily between the second and fortieth years of the wandering of the
Israelites. The first 25 chapters of the book chronicle the experiences of the first
generation of Israel in the wilderness, while the rest of the book describes the
experiences of the second generation. The theme of obedience and rebellion followed
by repentance and blessing runs through the entire book, as well as the entire Old
Testament.
The theme of the holiness of God is continued from the book of Leviticus into the book
of Numbers, which reveals God’s instruction and preparation of His people to enter the
Promised Land of Canaan. The importance of the Book of Numbers is indicated by its
being referred to in the New Testament many times. The Holy Spirit called special
attention to Numbers in 1 Corinthians 10:1-12. The words “all these things happened to
them for examples” refers to the sin of the Israelites and God’s displeasure with them.
In Romans 11:22, Paul speaks about the “goodness and severity of God.” That, in a
nutshell, is the message of Numbers. The severity of God is seen in the death of the
rebellious generation in the wilderness, those who never entered the Promised Land.
The goodness of God is realized in the new generation. God protected, preserved, and
provided for these people until they possessed the land. This reminds us of the justice
and love of God, which are always in sovereign harmony.
Foreshadowings: God’s demand for holiness in His people is completely and finally
satisfied in Jesus Christ, who came to fulfill the Law on our behalf (Matthew 5:17). The
concept of the promised Messiah pervades the book. The story in chapter 19 of the
sacrifice of the red heifer “without defect or blemish” prefigures Christ, the Lamb of God
without spot or blemish who was sacrificed for our sins. The image of the bronze snake
lifted up on the pole to provide physical healing (chapter 21) also prefigures the lifting
up of Christ, either upon the cross, or in the ministry of the Word, that whoever looks to
Him by faith may have spiritual healing.
In chapter 24, Balaam’s fourth oracle speaks of the star and the scepter who is to rise
out of Jacob. Here is a prophecy of Christ who is called the “morning star” in Revelation
22:16 for His glory, brightness, and splendor, and for the light that comes by Him. He
may also be called a scepter, that is, a scepter bearer, because of his royalty. He not only
has the name of a king, but has a kingdom, and rules with a scepter of grace, mercy, and
righteousness.
Practical Application: A major theological theme developed in the New Testament
from Numbers is that sin and unbelief, especially rebellion, reap the judgment of God.
First Corinthians specifically says—and Hebrews 3:7— 4:13 strongly implies— that these
events were written as examples for believers to observe and avoid. We are not to “set
our hearts on evil things” (1 Corinthians 10:6), or be sexually immoral (1 Corinthians
10:8) or put God to the test (1 Corinthians 10:9) or gripe and complain (1 Corinthians
10:10).
Just as the Israelites wandered in the wilderness 40 years because of their rebellion, so
too does God sometimes allow us to wander away from Him and suffer loneliness and
lack of blessings when we rebel against Him. But God is faithful and just, and just as He
restored the Israelites to their rightful place in His heart, He will always restore Christians
to the place of blessing and intimate fellowship with Him if we repent and return to Him
(1 John 1:9).

Inleiding tot die Bybel – Bybel Samevattings

Opsomming van die boek
Numeri

boek Numeri geskryf?

gee.”
nie; hy is getrou in my hele huis.
is.
hart op slegte dinge rig” ( 1 Korintiërs 10:6 ), of seksueel onsedelik wees ( 1 Korintiërs
