Is it necessary for a Christian to marry? What is the purpose of marriage? The Bible has a lot to say about this topic. Since the first marriage was between the first man and the first woman, it is assumed that marriage is God’s will for most people. It was instituted in the dispensation of innocence and is therefore a holy institution. The first reason that the Bible gives for the existence of marriage is simple: Adam was lonely and needed a helper (Genesis 2:18). This is the primary purpose of marriage—fellowship, companionship, and mutual help and comfort.
One purpose of marriage is to create a stable home in which children can grow and thrive. The best marriage is between two believers (2 Corinthians 6:14) who can produce godly offspring (Malachi 2:13–15). In Malachi, God tells the Israelites that He will not accept their offerings because they have been unfaithful to the wives of their youth. This shows how much God cares about marriage being kept intact. Not only that, but He tells them He was seeking “godly offspring.” This is a puzzling passage, and has been interpreted to mean a) that godly offspring are the purpose of marriage; b) that a good marriage between two godly people will mean that any children they have will tend to be godly as well; c) God wanted the Israelites to be faithful to their wives instead of leaving them for foreign women who would produce for them ungodly offspring because of the idolatry of those nations; and d) that God Himself was seeking His own offspring (the people) to exhibit godliness by their faithfulness. In any of these interpretations, we see a common theme: the children of faithful people will tend to be faithful, too.
Not only does marriage teach children how to be faithful and give them a stable environment in which to learn and grow, it has a sanctifying effect on both marriage partners when they submit to God’s law (Ephesians 5). Every marriage has difficult moments or difficult dynamics. When two sinful people are trying to create a life together, they must submit to God’s command to love each another as God has loved us—selflessly (1 John 3:16). Our attempts to follow God’s commands in our own strength tend to end in failure, and that failure tends to make the believer more aware of his dependence on God and more open to the Spirit’s work in him, which tends to result in godliness. And godliness helps us to follow God’s commands. So, marriage is very helpful for the one trying to live a godly life; it helps to scrub the heart clean of selfishness and other impurities.
Marriage also protects individuals from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 7:2). The world we live in is full of sexual images, innuendo, and temptation. Even if a person doesn’t pursue sexual sin, it pursues him or her, and it is very hard to escape it. Marriage provides a healthy place to express sexuality, without opening oneself up to the severe emotional (and many times physical) damage that is caused by casual, non-committed sexual relationships. It is clear that God created marriage for our good (Proverbs 18:22), to make us happy, to promote a healthier society, and to produce holiness in our lives.
Finally, marriage is a beautiful picture of the relationship between Christ and His church. The body of believers that make up the Church are collectively called bride of Christ. As Bridegroom, Jesus gave His life for His bride, “to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word” (Ephesians 5:25–26), and His selfless act provides an example for all husbands. At the second coming of Christ, the church will be united with the Bridegroom, the official “wedding ceremony” will take place, and with it the eternal union of Christ and His bride will be actualized (Revelation 19:7–9; 21:1–2).
Elke huwelik het moeilike oomblikke of moeilike dinamika.

Bible Verse and Prayer for Today
From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
—Psalm 3:8
Deliverance does come from the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, our spiritual fathers from previous generations. We can trust in this deliverance because of God’s faithfulness to his people under the Old Covenant (the Old Testament). We see God’s deliverance as the Father sends his Son, Jesus, as our Savior. We experience this deliverance in the outpouring of the Spirit by the resurrected Savior. So, as this verse suggests, we can confidently ask the Lord to bless us with his richest and greatest blessings as his people because we know that he has already given us the greatest gift of his Son. So, we believe with the apostle, Paul, that since God has done this to save us, “how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:31-32)
Prayer
Thank you, O God, for the salvation you have given to us in Jesus. Use us, your people, to spread this blessing to others so that all nations — all peoples — will know your love and come to know your deliverance found in your Son, our Savior and Lord. In the name of our Deliverer, we pray. Amen and Amen
Bybel Vers en Gebed vir Vandag
Van die Here kom verlossing. Mag u seën oor u volk wees.
—Psalm 3:8

Bible Teaching of the Day
The Bible records the creation of marriage in Genesis 2:23–24: “The man said, ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called “woman,” for she was taken out of man.’ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” God created man and then made woman to complement him. In the Bible marriage is God’s “fix” for the fact that “it is not good for the man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18).
As the Bible describes the first marriage, it uses the word helper to identify Eve (Genesis 2:20). To “help” in this context means “to surround, to protect or aid.” God created Eve to come alongside Adam as his “other half,” to be his aid and his helper. The Bible says that marriage causes a man and woman to become “one flesh.” This oneness is manifested most fully in the physical union of sexual intimacy. The New Testament adds a warning regarding this oneness: “So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate” (Matthew 19:6).
Several of Paul’s epistles refer to marriage and how believers are to operate within the marriage relationship. One such passage is Ephesians 5:22–33. Studying this passage provides some key truths concerning what the Bible says marriage should be.
The Bible, in Ephesians 5, says a successful biblical marriage involves both the husband and the wife fulfilling certain roles: “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior” (Ephesians 5:22–23). “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25). “In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church” (Ephesians 5:28–29). “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh” (Ephesians 5:31).
When a believing husband and wife institute God’s principles of marriage in the Bible, a solid, healthy marriage results. A biblically based marriage keeps Christ as the head of the man and the wife together. The biblical concept of marriage involves a oneness between a husband and wife that pictures the oneness of Christ with His church.
Een so ‘n gedeelte is Efesiërs 5:22–33.

Today’s Devotional
Marriage has been a hot topic lately, and there is much confusion surrounding the issue. Is there a design for marriage, and, if so, who has the right to change the design? Can we redefine what marriage is if the old definitions are too restrictive? At the heart of our questioning is a clash of worldviews.
It seems that Christians who take the Bible as God’s final word on the subject of marriage are the only ones who are not confused. God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), and He has stated plainly that marriage is His idea. He defined it in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:24). Jesus reiterated God’s design for marriage in the New Testament (Mark 10:6–8).
After God created the first man, Adam, He said, “It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a suitable helper for him” (Genesis 2:18). So God’s first objective in creating marriage was to provide companionship. He did not make another man for Adam so that he could experience brotherly affection. He created a woman from the man’s own body and brought her to the man (Genesis 2:21–22). With the woman, Adam could experience a deeper kind of intimacy than he could with a man. God created male and female bodies and souls to complement each other in such a way that they become “one flesh” in marriage (Genesis 2:24).
God’s design for marriage is that it be a unique union between a man and a woman in a covenant for life. God’s design includes sex, the consummation of that union, which is to be experienced only between a married couple. Any sexual expression outside the marriage covenant is sin. The sexual union was designed, in part, to bring forth children (Genesis 1:28), who are to be raised in “the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). By designating specific roles for husband, wife, and children, God instituted the family. With the husband bearing the responsibility for the family’s well-being and the wife acting as his helper, the family can thrive (Ephesians 5:21–33).
God’s design for marriage is that it be a picture of His union with those He calls His own. Throughout the Old Testament, God used imagery related to marriage to explain His love and commitment toward Israel. When the nation of Israel rebelled against Him, God expressed the sorrow and jealousy of a man who has a cheating wife. “Like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you, Israel, have been unfaithful to me,” the Lord says in Jeremiah 3:20. In the New Testament, marriage is used as an illustration of Christ and His relationship with His Bride, the Church. Paul writes, “I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him” (2 Corinthians 11:2; cf. Ephesians 5:31–32). So God’s design for marriage is that it be an unbreakable covenant such as God has made with His people.
When God designed marriage, He pronounced it “very good” (Genesis 1:31). He still pronounces it “good” when we follow His design. All perversions of His design, including divorce, sexual promiscuity, and homosexual activity, destroy families and therefore weaken society. God is the designer of marriage and the only One qualified to give us instructions about how to use His gift. We do well when we decide to follow His design for marriage.
“Soos ‘n vrou ontrou aan haar man is, so was jy, Israel, ontrou aan My,” sê die Here in Jeremia 3:20.

Verheerlik God Wanneer Jy Prestasies Vier:
Glorify God When You Celebrate Accomplishments:
Hundreds of guests filled a golden ballroom to celebrate a nonprofit’s fiftieth anniversary and honor those who made it possible, especially those who had been involved for decades. A founding member shared with gratitude how, despite thousands of volunteer hours and millions of dollars in grants, they would not have succeeded without God. He reiterated that the organization flourished not through human efforts—although there was plenty of that—but because God had provided for it.
Daniel understood the importance of attributing good gifts to God. When King Nebuchadnezzar received a dream about the future, he called all the wise men of Babylon to recount his dream and then interpret it. Appalled, they protested that no one on earth could do what the king asked; it would require supernatural power (Daniel 2:10-11). Daniel agreed: “No wise man, enchanter, magician, or sorcerer can show the king the secret he has asked, but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets” (vv. 27-28). In faith, he asked God to reveal the dream to him. When his prayer was answered, Daniel was humble and quick to attribute the interpretation not to his own wisdom but to his great God (vv. 30, 45).
It is right to celebrate achievements, but at the same time, we should glorify God. The praiseworthy things in our lives can ultimately be traced back to Him.

BIBLE PROPHECY IN THE NEWS
The 10 Horns of the Beast

A Stunning Prophetic Foreshadow? Trump’s Ten-Leader ‘Board of Peace’

There are moments in history when global events suddenly shift from ordinary news to something that feels weightier–something that brushes close to the patterns described in Scripture.
And right now, Christians who love Israel are watching a development that is raising eyebrows around the world:
President Trump is forming a “Board of Peace” made up of ten international leaders from Arab and Western nations–leaders who will collectively oversee the next phase of governance, security, and reconstruction in Gaza and the broader Middle East peace framework.
Ten leaders.
Ten seats of authority.
Ten influencers shaping a new order over the most prophetically central land on earth.
For believers with even a modest understanding of prophecy, that number instantly rings like a bell.
Not because this is the fulfillment of Daniel or Revelation–but because it looks uncannily like the architecture those books describe would one day rise.
This is not the moment of fulfillment, but it may be the first time in modern history we’ve watched the scaffolding take shape.
With that caution in mind, let’s examine what makes this so striking–and why we must keep our interpretation grounded.
WHY THIS MOMENT FEELS PROPHETICALLY SIGNIFICANT — STRONG PARALLELS
1. The symbolic power of “ten leaders” mirrors biblical structure
Daniel 7 and Revelation 17 both describe a last-days coalition of ten rulers who share authority. Never in modern geopolitics have we seen a formal, internationally recognized decision-making body composed of ten individuals tasked with guiding peace and governance in Israel’s vicinity.
Even if this is not that moment, the formation of a ten-member peace authority is undeniably reminiscent of those prophecies.
2. A multinational governing body over Israel’s security
Prophecy reveals a future world where Israel’s peace is shaped not internally, but externally–by international forces who exert oversight and pressure.
This Board of Peace is the first real-world example of a multinational authority claiming stewardship over Israel’s peace negotiations, something that would have been unthinkable decades ago.
It normalizes what Scripture says will eventually happen.
3. Shared authority that weakens national sovereignty
Revelation describes ten kings who “give their power” into a collective structure. While today’s leaders are not doing so in a prophetic sense, the mechanism is similar: nations voluntarily surrendering decision-making power to a centralized, unified board.
In this case, Arab nations and Western powers are agreeing to collective oversight over Gaza, bypassing Palestinian voters entirely.
That shift toward centralized international power strongly mirrors the kind of systems envisioned in biblical end-times governance.
4. The emergence of peace architecture before the actual prophecy
Prophecy students have long said the world will see power structures, alliances, and institutions constructed before the Antichrist rises to lead them.
In other words: the system comes before the figure.
And we may be witnessing the earliest version of a system that future leaders–prophetic or not–could eventually expand.
This is not fulfillment…but it may be preparation.
Missing Pieces & Setbacks
1. This structure could change and is fragile
Despite news sources claiming 10 leaders from Arab and Western nations are to be appointed to this board – until an official announcement is made – it could change. It could be 9 it could be 11. The principle behind it stays the same but without the actual number of 10 – it does lose some prophetic impact.
This committee could still collapse within months and there is no guarantee it will last – in fact it’s purpose is to be transitional so even though this process will likely take years – there is no guarantee it will still be functional in it’s proposed form in the years to come.
2. There is no Antichrist figure, no central ruler, no global allegiance
Prophecy requires a dominant leader rising out of the ten.
This is a board–not a throne.
Trump may be the head of the board for the time being but his time is limited by both politics and age.
Despite the board working together on Middle East Peace, there may not be much else they agree on in global politics.
A strong leader who will control them all has yet to appear.
4. A 7-year treaty is nowhere in sight
Daniel’s prophecy hinges on a very specific covenant of seven years.
No such treaty has been proposed or discussed.
This peace structure is managerial, not covenantal.
However, this could easily change as the board looks for solutions and timeframes. Keep an eye out for specific time frame proposals and seven year periods once this board starts to make decisions in 2026.
4. Major prophetic pillars are absent
A few examples missing from the landscape:
No rebuilt Temple
No global religious authority
No mark or economic control
No world leader claiming divine authority
No global enforcement power
Without these, we are looking at foreshadowing–not fulfillment.
THE INTERNATIONAL EXECUTIVE BOARD — AND WHY TONY BLAIR MATTERS
Beneath the ten-leader Board of Peace will be a smaller, elite group managing daily operations. Among them:
Tony Blair — a globalist statesman with long-standing Middle East ambitions
Tony Blair has spent nearly two decades positioning himself as a world-level mediator:
He served as Special Envoy for the “Quartet” (UN, US, EU, Russia) in Middle East peace negotiations.
He has repeatedly spoken about the need for global governance solutions.
He is deeply entwined with European Union politics, World Economic Forum circles, and global security dialogues.
His worldview blends diplomacy, globalization, and technocratic management.
To put it plainly: Tony Blair believes global challenges require global structures.
Seeing him once again step into a central Middle East role should make Christians pay attention–not because he is a prophetic figure, but because he is a powerful advocate of the kind of world-coordinated governance systems prophecy describes.
He is, at minimum, a man worth watching.
Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff
These individuals bring business, security, and diplomatic expertise, particularly within the Abraham Accords framework. Their involvement shows that Trump intends this not as a symbolic committee but as a functional governing structure.
THE PALESTINIAN TECHNOCRATIC GOVERNMENT — WILL THE PEOPLE ACCEPT IT?
The plan includes forming a new Palestinian technocratic government with 12-15 vetted individuals not affiliated with Hamas or Fatah.
The challenge is enormous:
Many Palestinians still express loyalty to Hamas–even after witnessing the devastation Hamas brought upon them.
A foreign-appointed leadership risks being seen as illegitimate.
Gaza civilians may interpret this as occupation, manipulation, or outsider control.
This government could crumble from internal rejection before it even begins.
HAMAS IS NOT LAYING DOWN ARMS — EVEN NOW
Just today, Hamas leadership reiterated:
They will not disarm
They will continue armed resistance
They will pursue Israel’s destruction
And yet the world is pushing forward with a peace framework anyway.
This mirrors the biblical pattern of “peace and safety” declarations during times of impending conflict–a political peace masking a spiritual storm.
Are We Ready For What Comes Next?
This may not be prophecy fulfilled…but it may be prophecy rehearsed.
The framework?
The concept?
The pattern?
For the first time, they’re beginning to look startlingly familiar.
A ten-leader coalition shaping peace in Israel is something no student of Scripture can ignore. It is not the final structure, but it may be the early outline–the faint pencil sketch before the ink goes on the page.
For Christians, this is a moment to watch with wisdom.
For nonbelievers, it is a moment to consider whether prophecy is no longer ancient–but unfolding.
SIGNS OF THE TIMES
11 Signs That Our World Is Rapidly Becoming A Lot More Orwellian

All over the globe, the digital control grid that we are all living in just continues to get even tighter. They are using facial recognition technology to scan our faces, they are using license plate readers to track where we travel, they are systematically monitoring the conversations that we are having on our phones, and they are watching literally everything that we post on social media.
At this stage, many of us just assume that nothing that we do or say is ever truly private. We really do live in a “Big Brother society”, and the potential for tyranny is off the charts. In fact, people are already getting arrested for “thought crimes” all over the world. If we do not take a stand now, someday soon we could wake up in a world where there is essentially no freedom left at all.
The exponential growth of AI technology is allowing authorities to watch, track, monitor and control us like never before. If you are not alarmed by this, you might want to check if you are still alive. The following are 11 signs that our world is rapidly becoming a lot more Orwellian…
#1 UK authorities are rolling out “a country-wide facial recognition system” that will use AI facial recognition cameras to watch the entire population…
On Thursday, officials in the UK pledged to roll out a country-wide facial recognition system to help police track down criminals. The country’s ministers have launched a 10-week consultation to analyze the regulatory and privacy framework of their AI-powered surveillance panopticon — but one way or another, the all-seeing eye is on its way.
There’s just one tiny wrinkle: the AI facial recognition cameras have a tendency to misidentify non-white people.
New reporting by The Guardian notes that testing of the AI tech conducted by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) found that it’s “more likely to incorrectly include some demographic groups in its search results” — specifically Black and Asian people.
#2 Of course the control freaks in the UK also monitor everything that gets posted on social media. One British man recently found this out the hard way when he was arrested for posing with a legally-owned gun in the United States…
A Yorkshire man was arrested over a photo he posted on social media featuring him holding a legally owned gun in the US.
Jon Richelieu-Booth posted a photo of himself in August holding a gun on LinkedIn while he was on a holiday in Florida.
He said he held the firearm lawfully, on private land and with full permission from its owner.
#3 If you do not believe that “thought crime” is real, just consider this next example. 11 police officers recently barged in and arrested a 34-year-old woman that was sitting naked in her own bathtub because she used offensive words while texting another woman on her phone…
The United Kingdom has become an authoritarian nightmare, and the United States must remain vigilant if it does not want to go down the same course.
Elizabeth Kinney, a 34-year-old care assistant, was naked in the bathtub when 11 police officers barged into her home to arrest her.
Her crime was sending insults to another woman via text.
How would you feel if 11 police officers were staring at you while you were naked?
As she was being informed that she had engaged in “malicious communications”, tears started flowing from Kinney’s eyes…
Kinney burst into tears as male officers denied her any privacy, and a female officer informed her that she was being arrested for “malicious communications and hate crime.” “The Crown place this offense in the highest category of its type due to the effect related to sexual orientation and the greater harm because it had moderate impact,” prosecutors insisted. Kinney faced ten years in prison, but her attorney begged for leniency. She has been ordered to perform seventy-two hours of community service, attend ten days of rehabilitation, and pay a fine of several hundred pounds.
#4 French President Emmanuel Macron wants the power to determine which media outlets will be allowed to speak to the public and which media outlets will be silenced…
Macron has in the last weeks intensified warnings on the risks of disinformation, on Friday calling for changes to French legislation that would allow “false information” online to be urgently blocked.
He has also called for “professional certification” of outlets to distinguish sites and networks that provide reliable information according to ethical rules from others that do not.
But at the weekend, the Journal du Dimanche Sunday newspaper, part of the influential media stable of right-wing tycoon Vincent Bollore, accused Macron in a front-page story of a “totalitarian drift” on the issue.
#5 Because he is a champion of free speech, the EU has been coming after Elon Musk for years. So it shouldn’t surprise any of us that the European Commission just fined his company 140 million dollars for supposed violations of the Digital Services Act…
The European Commission has issued a $140 million fine to Elon Musk’s X for violating the EU’s controversial Digital Services Act (DSA). The fine is likely to escalate tensions between the EU and America over free speech online.
Bloomberg reports that the European Commission has imposed a €120 million ($140 million) fine on X, Elon Musk’s social media platform, for breaching the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA). This marks the first penalty issued under the new censorship law, which aims to regulate online platforms and “protect” users from illegal content and disinformation.
#6 In recent years, we have seen so many controversial voices suddenly have their bank accounts shut down. Shockingly, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon is now publicly admitting that his company does “debank” people…
As JPMorgan Chase Bank is under investigation by the state of Florida for alleged coordination with the Biden Department of Justice and Operation Arctic Frost, the chairman of the company is admitting to debanking certain customers, but says it has nothing to do with their political or religious affiliations.
“We do debank them,” said JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon who appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo on the Fox News Channel.
“People have to grow up here and stop making up things and stuff like that. I can’t talk about an individual account.
#7 India wants to require that phone location services are always on so that the government can track people through their phones wherever they go…
You know what they say: If at first you don’t succeed at mass government surveillance, try, try again. Only two days after India backpedaled on its plan to force smartphone makers to preinstall a state-run “cybersecurity” app, Reuters reports that the country is back at it. It’s said to be considering a telecom industry proposal with another draconian requirement. This one would require smartphone makers to enable always-on satellite-based location tracking (Assisted GPS).
The measure would require location services to remain on at all times, with no option to switch them off. The telecom industry also wants phone makers to disable notifications that alert users when their carriers have accessed their location. According to Reuters, India’s home ministry was set to meet with smartphone industry executives on Friday, but the meeting was postponed.
#8 A journalist in the Netherlands has tested AI-powered glasses “that can instantly identify strangers on the street”…
A Dutch journalist just tested a pair of AI-powered glasses that can instantly identify strangers on the street.
No government database. No police system. Just public data and off-the-shelf AI.
You look at someone and in seconds, their name, LinkedIn, and background appear before your eyes.
The scariest part? You can’t really stop it.
You can ban it, regulate it, add blinking red lights… but once tech like this exists, someone will always find a way to use it.
Once these sorts of devices become widely available, there will be nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.
#9 A nationwide digital ID is being introduced in the UK, and soon you will not be able to get a new job without one…
Once introduced, digital ID will be used to verify a person’s right to live and work in the UK.
It will take the form of an app-based system, stored on smartphones in a similar way to the NHS App or digital bank cards.
The ID will include information on the holders’ residency status, name, date of birth, nationality and their photo.
When he first announced the scheme, Sir Keir said: “You will not be able to work in the United Kingdom if you do not have digital ID. It’s as simple as that.”
#10 The digital ID program in France “is moving from pilot to scale”…
France’s national digital identity app, France Identité, has enabled the creation of more than 3.2 million digital IDs, according to new figures.
Among these, approximately 525,000 identities have been fully certified, meaning that users have completed an in-person verification process at their local town halls. This means that more than half a million French digital IDs are ready for the EU Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet, according to Joerg Lenz, head of marketing at Namirial Group.
“France Identité is moving from pilot to scale,” Lenz wrote on LinkedIn, following the TRUSTECH Event held in Paris on Wednesday.
#11 In Illinois, there is such overwhelming demand for digital IDs that some people are being forced to wait…
Mobile IDs became available in Illinois on Wednesday, but due to the high demand, some residents are finding themselves waiting a little bit longer.
A number of residents trying to download the digital ID to their Apple wallet received the following message: “Due to the high volume, your state’s service is currently busy.”
Users can then answer the question, “Do you want to be notified when it becomes available?”
This is where the entire world is heading.
As the Big Brother control grid gets tighter and tighter, the stage is being set for unprecedented tyranny on a global scale.
Tyrants of the past could only dream of having the sort of AI-powered tools that we possess today.
If you do not submit to the digital gulag that is being constructed all around us, eventually you may not be able to buy, sell, get a job or open a bank account without proper digital identification.
What would you do then?
You might want to start thinking about that, because things are only going to get crazier from here.
