Prayer

Thank You Holy Spirit for the Resurrection of Jesus , The grave is Empty , Please Help me that I too can be one day be resurrected by the Holy Spirit within me , On that One day at Your 2nd Coming My grave can be empty too . I Pray this in Jesus name , Amen and Amen

Prayer Tips

Paul teaches the Churches to Pray

  • 1Co 14:13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
  • Pray in the Holy Spirit and in tongues if you are baptized with the Holy Spirit
  • Praise and worship God in tongues.
  • When praying in tongues, your mind is unfruitful.
  • This is a Spiritual communication between you Heart and God, the devil does not understand.

Markus 16:6

Gebed

Dankie Heilige Gees vir die Opstanding van Jesus , Die graf is Leeg , Help my asseblief dat ek ook eendag opgewek kan word deur die Heilige Gees binne my , Op daardie Eendag by U 2de Koms kan my graf ook leeg wees . Ek Bid dit in Jesus Naam, Amen en Amen

Gebed Wenke

14 Want as ek in ‘n onbekende taal bid, bid my gees, maar my verstand is onvrugbaar.
Wanneer jy in tale bid, is jou verstand onvrugbaar.

Bible Teaching of the Day

Jesus tells Mary, “Touch Me not” (John 20:17, KJV); but then later, speaking to Thomas, He says, “Reach hither thy finger and behold My hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into My side” (verse 27). The seeming incongruity of Jesus’ statements is resolved when we examine the language Jesus employed and consider the basic difference between the two situations.

In John 20:17, the word translated “touch” is a Greek word which means “to cling to, to lay hold of.” This wasn’t just a touch; it was a grip. Obviously, when Mary recognized Jesus, she immediately clung to Him. Matthew 28:9 records the other women doing the same thing when they saw the resurrected Christ.

Mary’s reaction was motivated, possibly, by several things. One is simply her loving devotion to the Lord. Mary is overwhelmed by the events of the morning, and as her grief turns to joy, she naturally embraces Jesus. Another motivation is Mary’s desire to restore the fellowship that death had broken. She had lost Him once, and she was going to make sure she didn’t lose Him again—she wanted to keep Jesus with her always. Also, Mary may have been thinking that this was the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise to return (John 14:3), in which case He would take her (and all believers) with Him to heaven.

However, it was not Jesus’ plan to stay in this world always, and His resurrection was not to be seen as His promised return. That is why He tells Mary of the ascension. His plan was to ascend to the Father and then send the Holy Spirit (John 16:7; 20:22; Acts 2:1-4). Fellowship with Jesus would continue, but it would be a spiritual communion, not a physical presence.

In loosening Mary’s hold on Him, Jesus was, in effect, saying this: “I know you desire to keep Me here, always present with you. I know you want everything to be just the same as before I died. But our relationship is about to change. I’m going to heaven, and you will have the Comforter in My place. You need to start walking by faith, Mary, not by sight.”

When Jesus spoke to Thomas, it was not to counter a misplaced desire but to rebuke a lack of faith. Thomas had said he would not believe until he had touched the living body of Jesus (John 20:25). Jesus, knowing all about Thomas’s declaration, offered His body as living proof of His resurrection. This was something He did on another occasion as well (Luke 24:39-40).

So, both Mary and Thomas needed more faith. Mary needed faith enough to let Jesus go. Thomas needed faith enough to believe without empirical proof. Mary needed to loosen her grip; Thomas needed to strengthen his. The resurrected Christ gave both of them the faith they needed.

Dit was nie net ‘n aanraking nie; dit was ‘n greep.

Today’s Devotional

“Marah water”

Exodus 15:23 – 25 And they came to Marah, but they could not drink the waters of Marah, because they were bitter. Therefore the place was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto the LORD, and the LORD shewed him a piece of wood; and he cast it into the water, and the water became sweet.

Marah water, bitter water, water that I cannot drink. Where is Mara, what is bitter water? Mara water comes in many forms. A mother who loses her child by death. A father whose son rejects him. A child wondering in which bar father sits and where mother finds a place to lie tonight. A young man wandering the street looking for another “fix”. A girl lying in a hot bath with blood pouring from her wrists. Parents without work, creditors who are beating. Mara water, oh bitter water.

Why Lord, this Marah water? Why Lord, this bitter water? Why Lord, this cup? Why Lord, have You forsaken me then? What should we drink? How should we drink

“and the LORD showed him a piece of wood; he cast it into the water, and the water became sweet”

Oh, bitter water, where is our piece of wood? The cross, yes the cross is our piece of wood. It was through the cross that our Mara water becomes sweet water. The cross where Jesus our sin, our transgressions, our cares, our pains, our sickness, our disappointments, our bitter water turns into sweet water.

Lord, Remind us today that You have already given us Your cross so that today we can drink sweet water instead of Mara water. Make our Mara water sweet through Your blood. I pray this in Jesus name – Amen

Let us rejoice ourselves when we read the words of the song “Jesus keep me near the cross”

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
The fountain of life,
Which flows freely for all,
From His guiding hill.

In the cross, In the cross,
I will glory forever;
Till my soul also shall rest there:
Where we live forever.

Marah water? No, no more bitter water because the cross has made the difference

Vandag se Bemoediging

“Mara water”

Mara water kom in verskeie vorme. ‘n Meisie wat in ‘n warm bad lê terwyl bloed by haar polse uitstroom. Ouers sonder werk, skuldeisers wat klop. Mara water, o bitter water.

Waarom Heer, hierdie Mara water? Waarom Heer, hierdie bitter water? Waarom Heer, hierdie beker?

Jesus, hou my by die kruis,
Die fontein van lewe,
Wat daar vloei vir almal vry,
Van Sy leidings heuwel.

In die kruis, In die kruis,
Sal ek roem vir ewig;
Tot my siel ook daar sal rus:
Waar ons vir ewig lewe.

Mara water ?

INTRODUCTION TO THE GOSPEL ARTIST

MEET : Donnie Sumner

Donnie Sumner , raised the son of a minister, is no new comer to the world of Christian music. Since childhood his favorite form of entertainment has been GOSPEL MUSIC with styles ranging from “Foot-stompin’ – hand-clappin’ revival tunes” to what has become known in today’s market as contemporary sacred music.

Having devoted over forty years of his own life to the world of music, Donnie has carried on the tradition of others in his family who have also made their mark in this industry. Donnie is the nephew of the late J. D. SUMNER, nationally acclaimed as the “world’s lowest bass singer.” Both Donnie and J. D. were closely associated with the late ELVIS PRESLEY on both his stage appearances and his recordings.

Being greatly gifted as a writer, Donnie is among the list of America ‘s most renowned inspirational composers, having made numerous contributions to what is considered to be sacred music’s standard repertoire.

THE EARLY YEARS

Donnie’s professional career began in the early sixties. In 1965 he became the lead vocalist and arranger for J. D. Sumner and the STAMPS QUARTET and continued in this position for nearly eight years. In 1970, while with the Stamps, Donnie received the Gospel Music Association’s prestigious DOVE AWARD for “Gospel Song of the Year” with his composition, “THE NIGHT BEFORE EASTER“. During his tenure of service as a “Stamp”, Donnie was also awarded the SESAC AWARD as “Best Country Songwriter” in 1969 and was nominated in 1970 for a GRAMMY AWARD by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Science (NARAS) in the category of “Country Song of the Year for his work entitled “THE THINGS THAT MATTER“.

THE ELVIS YEARS

During the last three years of Donnie’s service with J. D. Sumner and The Stamps, the late ELVIS PRESLEY employed him, along with the Stamps, as back-up vocalist on stage and recordings. It was during this time period that Donnie was seen on the Elvis, worldwide satellite television spectacular, ALOHA FROM HAWAII “. Donnie was also afforded the honor of having a solo appearance in the Elvis documentary,  ELVIS ON TOUR in which he was featured on the gospel song, “THE LIGHTHOUSE“.

In 1972 Donnie resigned from the Stamps Quartet and organized his own group, which was to become known as VOICE INC. With the new groups rising success came the opportunity for nearly a year to become resident members of Nashville ‘s famous GRAND OLE OPRY“.

Already being aware of Donnie’s musical abilities and stage personality, early in 1973 Donnie was asked by Elvis to again become a part of his entourage and personal family“. For the next three years Donnie was a constant houseguest, companion and arranger and associate musician to his friend Elvis. Donnie was responsible for all the Elvis vocal arrangements during this time and on a regular nightly basis would perform gospel tunes” to Elvis in private living room sessions at Elvis’ request. From time to time Elvis would request that Donnie sing one of his “own” original love songs. It was from such occasions that Elvis eventually came to record two of Donnie’s country songs. “MR. SONG MAN” and “I MISS YOU“.

VOICE INC., Donnie’s group, was the opening act on all Elvis’ personal appearances as well as an iatrical part of the vocal ensemble performing all of his stage back-up vocals.

Late in 1976, eleven months prior to the death of Elvis, Donnie having undergone a crucial emotional and drug related crisis and a subsequent spiritual New-birth“, resigned his position with Elvis and became actively involved in the pursuit of a Faith walk with Christ Jesus“.

A NEW BEGINNING

Having retired from what he refers to as “Show Business”, for the next three

years Donnie endeavored to create a secular music firm in Nashville , Tennessee under the banner of SPIRIT AND ASSOCIATES. Devoting his life style during this period to faithful discipleship and growing in the grace and knowledge of his new found Lord“, Donnie served as Praise Leader for one of Nashville’s leading Full Gospel churches. In December of 1979 with the encouragement and blessings of his Pastor, Donnie relinquished his music company to his Brother and business partner and yielded his life and talents to total Christian service and entered into full time “ministry“.

THE MINISTRY

Having served his denomination as Minister of Music, Evangelist and Pastor, Donnie was involved in an inter-faith, multi-media music ministry presenting CONCERT OF PRAISE under the banner of SPIRIT MINISTRIES. Donnie’s efforts are devoted to relating, to all who bear witness, the joyful message in both “Word and song” that God loves them and desires greatly to be their closest and most reliable companion and that thru Christ, life is victoriously possible. Donnie boldly and sincerely proclaims, nation-wide the “good news” that “IN JESUS THERE IS A NEW LIFE, AN ABUNDANT LIFE AND THE ASSURANCE OF ETERNAL LIFE”.

Signs of the Times in the News

Roman Catholic Doctrine of Demons Pope dies at 88

Pope Francis died of a stroke and subsequent heart failure, the Vatican has said in a statement, revealing that the pontiff had requested to be buried in a simple, unadorned tomb.

Francis, who twice almost died when hospitalised with severe pneumonia in February, also had multiple bronchiectasis, arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes.

The pope confirmed in his will that he wished to be buried at Santa Maria Maggiore church in Rome’s Esquilino neighbourhood, breaking with longstanding Vatican tradition. He would pray at the basilica before and after trips overseas, and last visited on 12 April.

The text of his will specified that Francis wanted to be buried “in the ground, without particular decoration” but with the inscription of his papal name in Latin: Franciscus.

Popes are usually buried with much fanfare in the grottoes beneath St Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City but Francis – loved by many Catholics for his humility – simplified rites for papal funerals last year.

In the text of his will that was published by the Vatican, the late pope said: “The cost of preparing the burial will be covered by a sum provided by a benefactor, which I have arranged to be transferred to the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major. I have given the necessary instructions regarding this to Cardinal Rolandas Makrickas, extraordinary commissioner of the Liberian basilica.”

Doctrine of Demons – Catholicism -The Holy Roman Empire – The Roman Catholic Church

The most crucial problem with the Roman Catholic Church is its belief that faith alone in Christ is not sufficient for salvation. The Bible clearly and consistently states that receiving Jesus Christ as Savior, by grace through faith, grants salvation (John 1:12; 3:16,18,36; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10,13; Ephesians 2:8-9). The Roman Catholic Church rejects this. The official position of the Roman Catholic Church is that a person must believe in Jesus Christ AND be baptized AND receive the Eucharist along with the other sacraments AND obey the decrees of the Roman Catholic Church AND perform meritorious works AND not die with any mortal sins AND etc., etc., etc. Catholic divergence from the Bible on this most crucial of issues, salvation, means that yes, Catholicism is a false religion. If a person believes what the Catholic Church officially teaches, he/she will not be saved. Any claim that works or rituals must be added to faith in order for salvation to be achieved is a claim that Jesus’ death was not sufficient to fully purchase our salvation.

While salvation by faith is the most crucial issue, in comparing Roman Catholicism with the Word of God, there are many other differences and contradictions as well. The Roman Catholic Church teaches many doctrines that are in disagreement with what the Bible declares. These include apostolic succession, worship of saints or Mary, prayer to saints or Mary, the pope / papacy, infant baptism, transubstantiation, plenary indulgences, the sacramental system, and purgatory. While Catholics claim Scriptural support for these concepts, none of these teachings have any solid foundation in the clear teaching of Scripture. These concepts are based on Catholic tradition, not the Word of God. In fact, they all clearly contradict Biblical principles.

In regards to the question “Are Catholics saved?”, this is a more difficult question to answer. It is impossible to give a universal statement on the salvation of all members of any denomination of Christianity. Not ALL Baptists are saved. Not ALL Presbyterians are saved. Not ALL Lutherans are saved. Salvation is determined by personal faith in Jesus alone for salvation, not by titles or denominational identification. Despite the unbiblical beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church, there are genuine believers who attend Roman Catholic churches. There are many Roman Catholics who have genuinely placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. However, these Catholic Christians are believers despite what the Catholic Church teaches, not because of what it teaches. To varying degrees, the Catholic Church teaches from the Bible and points people to Jesus Christ as the Savior. As a result, people are sometimes saved in Catholic churches. The Bible has an impact whenever it is proclaimed (Isaiah 55:11). Catholic Christians remain in the Catholic Church out of ignorance of what the Catholic Church truly stands for, out of family tradition and peer pressure, or out of a desire to reach other Catholics for Christ.

At the same time, the Catholic Church also leads many people away from a genuine faith relationship with Christ. The unbiblical beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church have often given the enemies of Christ opportunity to blaspheme. The Roman Catholic Church is not the church that Jesus Christ established. It is not a church that is based on the teachings of the Apostles (as described in the Book of Acts and the New Testament epistles). While Jesus’ words in Mark 7:9 were directed towards the Pharisees, they accurately describe the Roman Catholic Church, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!”

Iran’s endless rounds of negotiation: Delay, deceive and cheat – opinion

The Trump administration, after signaling a preference for dialogue over confrontation, is engaging in renewed diplomatic efforts to end Iran’s nuclear program.

President Donald J. Trump has made clear that he is not seeking war. “I would prefer to make a deal,” he stated recently, “because I’m not looking to hurt Iran.”

Given the devastating costs of war, focusing on negotiation rather than on military intervention is a noble and responsible course of action. The Iranian regime, however, is not new to such diplomatic games of chess.

The mullahs have mastered the art of prolonging negotiations: appearing cooperative while covertly advancing their strategic interests, especially developing ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons, and operating proxies in the region, such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, not to mention Iran’s own Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as well as smaller militias.

Iran, a theocratic virtual dictatorship, has remained in power for more than four decades. It has survived revolutions, international isolation, crippling sanctions, assassinations of military leaders, and confrontations with powerful adversaries.

The regime, in negotiations, invariably says all the right things, but its actions tell a different story. The Obama administration, in 2015, imagined that it had secured a historic deal with Iran.

Subsequent reports revealed that Iran was continuously violating the terms of that deal by secretly advancing its nuclear work while simultaneously reaping the economic benefits of sanctions relief.

This dual-track strategy enabled Iran to strengthen its economy and its nuclear infrastructure under the very deal meant to prevent it from doing exactly that.

The Trump administration must not permit any proposals that merely curb or “limit” Iran’s nuclear program.

A deal that focuses on temporary restrictions — such as caps on uranium enrichment, the number of centrifuges, or oversight timelines — will only delay, not eliminate, the threat.

Gog and Magog Update

In meeting with Putin (Gog), Qatari ruler accuses Israel of not complying with ceasefire

At a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani asserted that Israel had not complied with the ceasefire agreement and hostage deal that Doha played a part in mediating.

“As you’re aware, we came to an agreement several months back, but regrettably, Israel has not honored it,” Al-Thani stated. He emphasized that “Qatar remains committed to narrowing the divide between parties to achieve a resolution that brings relief to the Palestinian people, particularly those in Gaza.”

Putin responded by saying, “We recognize that Qatar is making significant efforts to help bring an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Sadly, the proposals presented — including those from your side — have not come to fruition. Innocent lives are still being lost in Palestine, and that remains one of the greatest tragedies of our time.”

“A long-term settlement can only be achieved on the basis of the UN resolution and, first of all, in connection with the establishment of two states,” said Putin.

Last week, Putin hosted released hostages Sapir Cohen, 29; her boyfriend, Sasha Troufanov, 29; and Troufanov’s mother, Yelena, 50. The three were abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz, along with Yelena’s mother, Irina Tati, 73. Hamas terrorists murdered Yelena’s husband.

Irina and Yelena, both Russian citizens, were released by Hamas in November 2023 as a goodwill gesture to Moscow.

Cohen was freed that same month as part of the first Gaza ceasefire deal.

Troufanov, who also holds Russian citizenship, was returned to Israel in February during the second Gaza truce.

During the meeting with the hostages, Putin expressed shock after hearing about Troufanov’s 498-day captivity and lauded Hamas leaders for freeing the hostages, calling their release a “humanitarian act.”

“The fact that you managed to go free is the result of the fact that Russia has stable, long-term relations with the Palestinian people, with its representatives, and with a wide variety of organizations,” Putin said, adding that “we need to express words of gratitude to the leadership of the political wing of Hamas for cooperating with us and carrying out this humanitarian act.”

Introduction to the Bible – Bible Summary

Summary of the Book of Ezra
Author:
The Book of Ezra does not specifically name its author. The tradition is that the
prophet Ezra wrote the Book of Ezra. It is interesting to note that once Ezra appears on
the scene in chapter 7, the author of the Book of Ezra switches from writing in the third
person to first person. This would also lend credibility to Ezra being the author. Full
article: Who wrote the book of Ezra? Who was the author of Ezra?
Date of Writing: The Book of Ezra was likely written between 460 and 440 B.C.
Purpose of Writing: The Book of Ezra is devoted to events occurring in the land of
Israel at the time of the return from the Babylonian captivity and subsequent years,
covering a period of approximately one century, beginning in 538 B.C. The emphasis in
Ezra is on the rebuilding of the Temple. The book contains extensive genealogical
records, principally for the purpose of establishing the claims to the priesthood on the
part of the descendants of Aaron.
Key Verses:
Ezra 3:11 “With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the LORD: ‘He is good; his love to
Israel endures forever.’ And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the LORD,
because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.”
Ezra 7:6, “…this Ezra came up from Babylon. He was a teacher well versed in the Law of
Moses, which the LORD, the God of Israel, had given. The king had granted him
everything he asked, for the hand of the LORD his God was on him.”
Brief Summary: The book may be divided as follows: Chapters 1-6—The First Return
under Zerubbabel, and the Building of the Second Temple. Chapters 7-10—The Ministry
of Ezra. Since well over half a century elapsed between chapters 6 and 7, the characters
of the first part of the book had died by the time Ezra began his ministry in Jerusalem.
Ezra is the one person who is prominent in the Books of Ezra and Nehemiah. Both books
end with prayers of confession (Ezra 9; Nehemiah 9) and a subsequent separation of the
people from the sinful practices into which they had fallen. Some concept of the nature
of the encouraging messages of Haggai and Zechariah, who are introduced in this
narrative (Ezra 5:1), may be seen in the prophetic books that bear their names.
The Book of Ezra covers the return from captivity to rebuild the Temple up to the decree
of Artaxerxes, the event covered at the beginning of the Book of Nehemiah. Haggai was
the main prophet in the day of Ezra, and Zechariah was the prophet in the day of
Nehemiah.
Foreshadowings: We see in the Book of Ezra a continuation of the biblical theme of the
remnant. Whenever disaster or judgment falls, God always saves a tiny remnant for
Himself—Noah and his family from the destruction of the flood; Lot’s family from
Sodom and Gomorrah; the 7,000 prophets reserved in Israel despite the persecution of
Ahab and Jezebel. When the Israelites were taken into captivity in Egypt, God delivered
His remnant and took them to the Promised Land. Some fifty thousand people return to
the land of Judea in Ezra 2:64-67, and yet, as they compare themselves with the
numbers in Israel during its prosperous days under King David, their comment is, “We
are left this day as a remnant.” The remnant theme is carried into the New Testament
where Paul tells us that “at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace”
(Romans 11:5). Although most people of Jesus’ day rejected Him, there remained a set
of people whom God had reserved and preserved in his Son, and in the covenant of His
grace. Throughout all generations since Christ, there is the remnant of the faithful whose
feet are on the narrow road that leads to eternal life (Matthew 7:13-14). This remnant
will be preserved through the power of the Holy Spirit who has sealed them and who
will deliver them safely at the last day (2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 4:30).
Practical Application: The Book of Ezra is a chronicle of hope and restoration. For the
Christian whose life is scarred by sin and rebellion against God, there is great hope that
ours is a God of forgiveness, a God who will not turn His back on us when we seek Him
in repentance and brokenness (1 John 1:9). The return of the Israelites to Jerusalem and
the rebuilding of the Temple are repeated in the life of every Christian who returns from
the captivity of sin and rebellion against God and finds in Him a loving welcome home.
No matter how long we have been away, He is ready to forgive us and receive us back
into His family. He is willing to show us how to rebuild our lives and resurrect our hearts,
wherein is the temple of the Holy Spirit. As with the rebuilding of the temple in
Jerusalem, God superintends the work of renovating and rededicating our lives to His
service.
The opposition of the adversaries of God to the rebuilding of the temple displays a
pattern that is typical of that of the enemy of our souls. Satan uses those who would
appear to be in sync with God’s purposes to deceive us and attempt to thwart God’s
plans. Ezra 4:2 describes the deceptive speech of those who claim to worship Christ but
whose real intent is to tear down, not to build up. We are to be on guard against such
deceivers, respond to them as the Israelites did, and refuse to be fooled by their smooth
words and false professions of faith.

Inleiding tot die Bybel – Bybel Samevatting

Opsomming van die boek Esra
Skrywer:
Ezra as die skrywer.
is.
wat hulle verseël het en wat hulle veilig sal verlos op die laaste dag ( 2 Korintiërs 1:22 ;
liefdevolle welkome tuiste vind.
