Prayers in the Old Testament
- King David’s Prayer to God
1Ch 29:10 Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation:
and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for
ever and ever.
1Ch 29:11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory,
and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the
earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as
head above all.
1Ch 29:12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over
all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to
make great, and to give strength unto all.
1Ch 29:13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious
name.
1Ch 29:14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to
offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine
own have we given thee.
1Ch 29:15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all
our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none
abiding.
1Ch 29:16 O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build
thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine
own.
1Ch 29:17 I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast
pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I
have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy
people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.
1Ch 29:18 O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers,
keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy
people, and prepare their heart unto thee:
1Ch 29:19 And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy
commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these
things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision. - Praise and worship God in front of other people, even in front of the
sinners. - Praise God for His greatness and power.
- Confirm that God is in control of everything.
- Everything is in God’s hands.
- Confirm that God knows your heart and mind.
- Confirm that God watches over you.
- Confirm your love to God.
- Manifest your praise and worship. I.e. bowing before God.
Prediker 3:11
Gebed
Here.
18 HERE, God van Abraham, Isak en Israel, ons vaders, bewaar dit vir ewig, so ‘n gesindheid in die gedagtes van die hart van u volk, en rig hulle hart tot U;
- Alles is in God se hande.

Bible Teaching of the Day
“a time for war and a time for peace”
In Ecclesiastes 3:1–8, King Solomon presents a series of fourteen contrasting seasons and events that together represent all human activity in its varied forms. Our lives contain a mixture of joy and sorrow, birth and death, harmony and conflict. Solomon resolves that God is in control of each moment. He has a good purpose for everything we experience (see Romans 8:28).
In the final couplet, Solomon states that there is “a time for war and a time for peace.” In the original language, the term for “war” refers to “the waging of armed conflict against an enemy.” “Peace” (shalom in Hebrew) is the state of “harmonious relations and freedom from disputes, especially during the absence of war.” Shalom also describes an inner condition of total well-being. In general, “a time for war and a time for peace” could represent the spectrum of national concerns and sociopolitical conditions humans confront in life.
In ancient times, people did not wage war during harvest season. Soldiers went to battle only at specific times of year (2 Samuel 11:1). Today, nations go to war only in response to certain situations.
While war can never be classified as good, Scripture reveals that God has an appointed purpose for it (Psalm 144:1; 2 Samuel 22:35). In the Old Testament, the Lord at times commanded His people to go to war to bring judgment on sinful nations (Deuteronomy 20:1–4; Numbers 31:7; Joshua 8:1, 10:40; Isaiah 13:3–4).
War is part of the reality of living in a fallen world (Exodus 17:16; 2 Samuel 3:1; 2 Samuel 3:1). Humans are flawed and sinful (Romans 3:10–18), and war results from hatred and sin (James 4:1–2; Psalm 140:1–2; Proverbs 10:12; 29:22). Evil people such as Adolf Hitler make going to war unavoidable and necessary to prevent even greater atrocities from being committed.
“A time for war” is also associated with end times. In Matthew 24:3–14, the disciples ask Jesus, “What will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age?” (verse 3). Jesus answers, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. . . . All these are the beginning of birth pains” (Matthew 24:6–8).
On this earth, perfect peace is only found in God and preserved through having a close relationship with Him (Philippians 4:6–7). “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you,” declares Isaiah 26:3. “A time for peace” is the opportunity and blessing of every believer in all circumstances (Romans 5:1–5; John 16:33; Philippians 4:11–13). Life in the Holy Spirit offers righteousness, joy, and peace (Romans 14:17–19; 8:6; Galatians 5:22).
“A time for peace” is the reward of those who love and obey God’s Word (Psalm 119:165–167; Philippians 4:8–9). The Bible says that “those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die” (Isaiah 57:2, NLT).
The Lord is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and, ultimately, it is His will that wars cease to exist on earth (Psalm 46:9; Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3). There will come a day when weapons of war will become instruments of peace.
A future “time for peace” is promised in the New Jerusalem when God Himself will make His home among His people (Revelation 21:1–4; 22:3–5). “In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all. The cow will graze near the bear. The cub and the calf will lie down together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. The baby will play safely near the hole of a cobra. Yes, a little child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes without harm. Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain, for as the waters fill the sea, so the earth will be filled with people who know the LORD” (Isaiah 11:6–9, NLT).
The fact that there is “a time for war and a time for peace” reminds us that we are utterly dependent on God to make it through the ever-changing, often turbulent seasons of this life. In all circumstances and every relationship, God holds us firmly and forever in His sovereign hands. Even in the most hostile situations over which we have little or no control, we can know peace by trusting and resting in God, knowing that He orders our times according to His good pleasure.

Today’s Devotional
Yesterday, while I was thinking about things, the Lord reminded me of a song that was once sung by Janet Paschal. The song, “I give you Jesus” written by Becky Fender, reads:
If the ship of your life is tossing on the sea of strife, you need someone
and if you feel so all alone and your house is not a home, you need someone.
if it seems life isn’t fair and there’s no one left to share
all those lonely days and nights and things just won’t turn out right;
and you need someone to care and someone to just be there;
you need someone.
If the pressures all around keep your spirits to the ground, you need someone.
and If your body is in pain and your health you can’t regain, you need someone.
and If at times when you have tried with all the strength you had inside;
and it seems that you have failed,
remember on the cross He nailed all the bitterness and grief,
to give you peace and sweet relief
He is that someone that you need.
I give you Jesus; He is the peace that passes all understanding;
I give you Jesus; He is the perfect love that casteth out all fear;
I give you Jesus; He is the water that you drink and never thirst again;
I give you Jesus, my friend, I give you Jesus,
He’s everything, everything you’ll ever need
Oh, I give you Jesus, my friend,
I give you Jesus,
How can I offer you something else? I don’t have much to offer. I don’t care much. But from deep within me I give you Jesus. After all, he is, as another song says: “He is all I need, He’s all I need, Jesus is all I need.”
Jesus is still the way, the truth and the life. He is still the bread of life from which flows living water. He is still the one anointed to bring the gospel (good news) to the poor, to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are oppressed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (See Luke 4:18)
Like a mother who brings her children to Jesus, I desire today to bring each of us before the Lord Jesus Christ and I trust that He will put His arms around us, lay His hands on us, and bless us as He blessed the children in Mark 10:16.
I like to close with the scripture from Romans 8:28 “We know that in all things God works together for good to those who love Him, to those who are the called according to His purpose
Vandag se Bemoediging
Gister, terwyl ek oor dinge nadink, herrinner die Here my aan ‘n lied wat eens deur Janet Paschal gesing is. Die lied, “I give you Jesus” wat deur Becky Fender geskryf is, lui:
If the ship of your life is tossing on the sea of strife, you need someone
and if you feel so all alone and your house is not a home, you need someone.
if it seems life isn’t fair and there’s no one left to share
all those lonely days and nights and things just won’t turn out right;
and you need someone to care and someone to just be there;
you need someone.
If the pressures all around keep your spirits to the ground, you need someone.
and If your body is in pain and your health you can’t regain, you need someone.
and If at times when you have tried with all the strength you had inside;
and it seems that you have failed,
remember on the cross He nailed all the bitterness and grief,
to give you peace and sweet relief
He is that someone that you need.
I give you Jesus; He is the peace that passes all understanding;
I give you Jesus; He is the perfect love that casteth out all fear;
I give you Jesus; He is the water that you drink and never thirst again;
I give you Jesus, my friend, I give you Jesus,
He’s everything, everything you’ll ever need
Oh, I give you Jesus, my friend,
I give you Jesus,
Hoe kan ek jou iets anders bied? Ek het nie veel om te bied. Ek het nie baie om te gee. Maar diep vanuit my binneste gee ek jou Jesus. Hy is immers, soos nog ‘n liedjie sê: “He is all I need, He’s all I need, Jesus is all I need.”

INTRODUCTION TO THE GOSPEL ARTISTS
MEET : Allison Durham Speer

Allison Speer was raised in the Bluegrass fields of Kentucky, and even a land as vast as that was not big enough to contain her talent. Her early childhood was spent enjoying spring vegetable gardens and sun drying autumn apples; tending cattle and crops, and developing a deep respect for God’s creation gave her a down-home sense of self. A concert by The Imperials was Allison’s earliest introduction to Christian music. She watched as Russ Taff performed the songs, “Praise the Lord” and “New Creation,” and was instantly passionate about the gospel word set to song. The passion she felt that night has taken her to the stage, performing alongside Russ Taff, and as a regular on the Gaither Homecoming videos and tours. “It’s so surreal to perform next to Russ; he and The Imperials are the reason I fell in love with Christian music in my teens. That means that Russ is a considerable number of years older than me, a fact I continually remind him of.” Allison communicates the Gospel in all she does, in mega-churches such as First Baptist Atlanta (Dr. Charles Stanley), The Brooklyn Tabernacle, First Baptist Orlando (Rev. Jim Henry), as well as small rural churches. She has also been a featured artist for many Bible study cruises with Charles Stanley and D. James Kennedy. She has also performed with evangelists Luis Palau, Bailey Smith, David Ring, and Johnny Hunt (First Baptist Church of Woodstock, GA). Her appearances on the Gaither Homecoming videos, The 700 Club, and The Trinity Broadcasting Network have left the nation wanting more of this incredible singer. She has been the guest soloist at the national Southern Baptist Convention, the Nazarene General Assembly, and numerous Praise Gatherings and Family Fest Events hosted by Bill Gaither. Her time has been spent touring with the Gaither Vocal Band and Gaither Trio, and with Mark Lowry and Wayne Watson, as well as keeping a hectic schedule of solo appearances. Her grounding lies at her home church, Grace Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, TN. But no matter where she is, a consuming flame keeps her searching for ways to be used, as she says, “to help others identify with the suffering of Jesus and bring clarity to the word of God through music.” Allison’s zeal for communicating the Gospel through song led her to begin the GodSong Music Academy a four-day conference that in Allison’s words, “makes communicators and ministers out of singers.” She adds, “I have a passion for giving new performers the tools that they need to better minister the Gospel.” As a student of communication skills, her desire is to equip the next generation of singers and musicians to reach their audiences to their fullest potential. This conference has been held annually in Nashville, TN since 2008. Allison’s latest recording, “Writer,” is her first self-penned project, featuring songs co-written with some of Gospel music’s finest writers. “Writer” showcases the depths of her musical abilities and her passion for presenting the Gospel with unique poetry and melodies. Her performance seems effortless but pushes you beyond the voice to allow you to become one with the intimate message. “Writer” is packed with scripture and Biblical truths for the ages. Allison says, “This is the first project I’ve written and it gave me a freedom of expression that I’ve never had before.” This talented woman’s unique gift of storytelling embraces you with the comfort of a good friend. Allison says, “One of the multitude of things that I learned from my years touring with Bill and Gloria Gaither – and am still learning – is that the warmth and comfort of your own living room is a wonderful atmosphere to strive for in a concert.” Her travels to Russia and Bosnia with Christian relief organization International Aid, and The Philippines with the American Leprosy Mission, have left her changed, moved to a deeper communion with God, and with a resolve to banish complacency. “We must lose our egos and find our complete identity in the person of Jesus. It is in the shedding of His blood that we find our lives and in His suffering and death alone, that we must boast.” The conviction of her heart is to provide music for the church. Choosing songs that will minister to others is her policy. Words that glorify God are her creed. Bringing the scripture alive with music is her artistry. “My music is for people who need Jesus, and we ALL need Jesus. This one similarity overthrows all the politics of our differences. I am learning that you can make a feast on a mustard seed of faith. So when I sing, I just welcome folks to the table.”

Bible Prophecy in the News
US President Donald Trump revealed that he would make a “very, very big announcement” before his trip to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Sitting in the Oval Office with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, on Tuesday Trump told reporters, “We’re going to have a very, very big announcement to make, like as big as it gets.”
“I won’t tell you on what … and it’s very positive,” he said.
He continued, “It is really, really positive. And that announcement will be made either Thursday, Friday, or Monday before we leave. But it’ll be one of the most important announcements that have been made in many years about a certain subject, very important subject. So you’ll all be here.”
When asked if he would like to comment, Carney quipped, “I’m on the edge of my seat.”
Earlier in the meeting, Trump made another big announcement: He made a deal with the Houthis that the US would cease its strikes against them in exchange for an agreement that they would no longer disrupt trade routes.
WHAT WILL THIS VERY BIG , VERY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT BE ? Will it be Bible Prophecy ?

The Reason for the Trouble between Christians and Jews
Article in the News – Why Christians Should Honor, Not Convert, the Jewish People

One of the biggest barriers to Jewish-Christian relationships is the belief that Jews must convert to Christianity. This view misunderstands God’s covenant with His chosen people and has hurt interfaith relations for generations.
PASTOR DIRK SAYS
God has Placed a New Covenant and New Testament in Place . where the Only Way to God is Via Jesus Christ . By ripping the Main Curtain in the 2nd Temple . the Old Jewish Covenant was Cancelled . Now there is a New Covenant . That’s why Christians should try to Convert every other Faith included those stuck in Jewish Faith . But the Problem with the Jews are . They did not acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah and are still awaiting their Old Testament Promised Messiah . with this viewpoint they can not be Converted and will be mislead by the Antichrist saying he is the coming Messiah , Only 3 and half years later they will wake-up when their Messiah sits on the arc of the Covenant in the Holy of Holy’s and declare Himself God and that they should worship Him , then only they will wake up , but then its to late and the Holy Spirit then has left the Earth and no Re Birth can Take place.

Scientists Set Out to Make Lab-Grown “Bodyoids” for Spare Parts

This approach could offer a limitless, personalized supply of organs and tissues for transplantation, potentially eliminating the need for animal testing, reducing organ waiting lists, and enabling precise drug screening with minimal rejection risks.
A recent article in MIT Technology Review highlighted research by three Stanford University scientists exploring the creation of “bodyoids” – lab-grown human bodies developed from pluripotent stem cells, engineered without brains to prevent consciousness and pain. These bodyoids would serve as organ banks, potentially addressing critical shortages in transplantable human tissues and organs. The researchers argue that without neural components, these creations lack the ability to think, feel, or suffer, providing a potential ethical advantage over current animal-based research models.
Bodyoids represent a promising but still theoretical advancement. They are human bodies developed entirely outside the womb, using stem cells and artificial gestation technologies, but without neural components. This approach could offer a limitless, personalized supply of organs and tissues for transplantation, potentially eliminating the need for animal testing, reducing organ waiting lists, and enabling precise drug screening with minimal rejection risks.
Advances in biotechnology, including artificial wombs and stem cell research, have brought this concept closer to reality. For instance, scientists have recently recreated early stages of human embryo development using stem cells. These breakthroughs suggest the possibility of producing living human bodies without the neural structures that enable consciousness.
However, the researchers acknowledge significant challenges. Current US regulations, like the “14-day rule,” restrict human embryo research beyond 14 days, preventing the development of mature bodyoids. The 15th day marks the start of gastrulation, when the primitive streak forms and germ layers differentiate – a crucial step in natural embryonic development.

Dome of the Rock
Also known as Kubbat as-Sakhra, Kubbet es Sakhra, “Mosque of Omar,” Qubbet el-Sakhra, Templum Domini

Aerial from East
Built atop the earlier location of the Temple, the Dome of the Rock was erected by the Muslim ruler Abd el-Malik in 688–691. Because of its situation on bedrock, the numerous earthquakes over the centuries have not caused significant damage to the structure (unlike its neighbor, the Al Aqsa mosque). This shrine was covered by a lead dome from 691 until it was replaced with a gold-colored covering in the early 1960s. Because of rust, the anodized aluminum cover was again replaced in 1993 with a gold covering.
Dome with Mount of Olives
The Mount of Olives overlooks the Temple Mount from the east and gives a picture of Jesus’s weeping over the city from the Mt. of Olives (Luke 19:41). From the Temple Mount, Jesus delivered the famous “7 Woes” against the Pharisees (Matt 23), probably pointing at tombs on the Mount of Olives in his discourse (v. 27). Jesus’s ascension probably took place some distance behind the tower of the Russian Orthodox Church.

View from Southwest
Sometimes referred to as the “Mosque of Omar,” actually the Dome of the Rock is neither. Omar built an earlier structure, but not the Dome of the Rock; additionally, this building is considered a shrine and not a mosque. Men pray instead at the Al Aqsa Mosque located 650 feet (200 m) to the south. Muslims believe that this is the place where Abraham nearly sacrificed his son Ishmael.
Founding Inscription
Inside the building in classical Arabic is inscribed, “O you People of the Book, overstep not bounds in your religion, and of God speak only the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, is only an apostle of God, and his Word which he conveyed unto Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from him. Believe therefore in God and his apostles, and say not Three. It will be better for you. God is only one God. Far be it from his glory that he should have a son.”

Al Aqsa Mosque
More important to the Muslims than the Dome of the Rock is Al Aqsa Mosque. Believing that this is the place referred to in the Koran as “al aqsa” (the furthermost), Muslims have sanctified this as the third most holy place in the Muslim world (after shrines in Mecca and Medina, both in Saudi Arabia). The original mosque was built in 715 but it has been destroyed numerous times by earthquakes.
Al Aqsa from north
The mosque witnessed a turbulent 20th century. King Abdullah of Jordan was assassinated in front of Al Aqsa in 1951. A deranged Australian tourist set fire to the mosque in 1969, destroying the beautiful 12th-century wooden pulpit. Controversy now rages over the building activity on a larger mosque constructed underneath this one.

Introduction to the Bible – Bible Summary
Summary of the Book of Amos
Author: Amos 1:1 identifies the author of the Book of Amos as the Prophet Amos.
Date of Writing: The Book of Amos was likely written between 760 and 753 B.C.
Purpose of Writing: Amos is a shepherd and a fruit picker from the Judean village
of Tekoa when God calls him, even though he lacks an education or a priestly
background. Amos’ mission is directed to his neighbor to the north, Israel. His messages
of impending doom and captivity for the nation because of her sins are largely
unpopular and unheeded, however, because not since the days of Solomon have times
been so good in Israel. Amos’ ministry takes place while Jeroboam II reigns over Israel,
and Uzziah reigns over Judah.
Key Verses:
Amos 2:4, “This is what the LORD says: ‘For three sins of Judah, even for four, I will not
turn back [my wrath]. Because they have rejected the law of the LORD and have not kept
his decrees, because they have been led astray by false gods, the gods their ancestors
followed.'”
Amos 3:7, “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing His plan to His
servants the prophets.”
Amos 9:14, “I will bring back my exiled people Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities
and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens
and eat their fruit.”
Brief Summary: Amos can see that beneath Israel’s external prosperity and power,
internally the nation is corrupt to the core. The sins for which Amos chastens the people
are extensive: neglect of God’s Word, idolatry, pagan worship, greed, corrupted
leadership, and oppression of the poor. Amos begins by pronouncing a judgment upon
all the surrounding nations, then upon his own nation of Judah, and finally the harshest
judgment is given to Israel. His visions from God reveal the same emphatic
message: judgment is near. The book ends with God’s promise to Amos of future
restoration of the remnant.
Foreshadowings: The Book of Amos ends with a glorious promise for the future. “’I will
plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given
them,’ says the LORD your God” (9:15). The ultimate fulfillment of God’s land promise to
Abraham (Gen. 12:7; 15:7; 17:8) will occur during Christ’s millennial reign on earth
(see Joel 2:26,27). Revelation 20 describes the thousand-year reign of Christ on the
earth, a time of peace and joy under the perfect government of the Savior Himself. At
that time, believing Israel and the Gentile Christians will be combined in the Church and
will live and reign with Christ.
Practical Application: Sometimes we think we are a “just-a”! We are just-a salesman,
farmer, or housewife. Amos would be considered a “just-a.” He wasn’t a prophet or
priest or the son of either. He was just a shepherd, a small businessman in Judah. Who
would listen to him? But instead of making excuses, Amos obeyed and became God’s
powerful voice for change.
God has used ordinary people such as shepherds, carpenters, and fishermen all through
the Bible. Whatever you are in this life, God can use you. Amos wasn’t much. He was a
“just-a.” “Just-a” servant for God. It is good to be God’s “just-a.”
Ussia oor Juda regeer.
Sleutelverse:
of huisvrou. Amos sou as ‘n “net-n” beskou word. Hy was nie ‘n profeet of priester of die
seun van een van die twee nie. Hy was net ‘n herder, ‘n klein sakeman in Juda.
Amos was nie veel nie. Hy
was ‘n “net-n.” “Net-‘n” dienaar vir God. Dit is goed om God se “net-‘n ” te wees.
