Revelation 12:10 calls Satan the “accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night.” The context of the verse describes a cosmic battle between a great red dragon (identified as Satan in Revelation 12:7) and the angelic hosts of heaven. The dragon is hurled to the earth (Revelation 12:9), the authority of the Messiah is locked in place (verse 10), and the believers are victorious:
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (Revelation 12:11, NKJV).
During the tribulation of the end times, Satan’s wrath against God’s’ people, especially Israel (the “woman” of Revelation 12) will intensify. But the believers are promised to overcome. Dr. Charles Ryrie comments on Revelation 12:11: “The believer’s defense against Satan is (1) to bank on the merits of the death of Christ, (2) to be active in witnessing, and (3) to be willing to make any sacrifice, including death” (The Ryrie Study Bible, Moody Press, 1978, p. 1,801).
Down through the centuries, the “great dragon” Satan has despised the mercy, love, grace, and forgiveness that God pours out on believers in Jesus Christ. With relentless, evil determination, the devil hounds us, fixated on destroying our walk with God and chasing us back into a spiritual prison. But, day by day, night by night, believers always overcome him “by the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 12:11).
Satan’s tireless goal in the life of every Christian is to prevent, disrupt, and cut off his or her relationship with God. He “prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). But the devil’s only real power over believers is to throw our sins and transgressions in our faces. He is the accuser. Thankfully, the sacrifice of Christ has effectively dealt with the problem. It is the blood of Jesus Christ—the blood of the Lamb—that redeems people, setting them free from slavery to sin and Satan’s control.
Scripture gives us vivid pictures of Christ’s redemptive work on the cross. Peter explains that “God paid a ransom” to save us from our old empty way of life. “And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God” (1 Peter 1:18–19, NLT). The tribulation saints will have “washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 7:14). When Jesus Christ died, His precious blood “purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9). Jesus’ blood was poured out “for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:28), and it “purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
Satan tries to condemn us, but we overcome by the blood of the Lamb. “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:1–2). Jesus freed us from the spiritual chains of sin (John 8:35–36; Romans 6:17–22).
The next time Satan tries to hurl past failures in your face, remember that “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned” (John 3:17–18).
All believers—past, present and future—overcome the accuser by the blood of the Lamb. Jesus Christ’s death is the definitive basis for our victory over the enemy of our souls. The apostle Paul asks, “Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us” (Romans 8:33–34, NLT). Despite everything in the devil’s arsenal that he can throw at us, “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
Paul tells the Colossians, “For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. So don’t let anyone condemn you” (Colossians 2:12–16, NLT).
We must not allow the devil to deceive us with lies and accusations. Every charge he can bring against us is canceled, nailed to the cross, and overcome by the blood of the Lamb. It may seem strange that, in Revelation 12, a raging dragon is overcome by a slain lamb. Lambs are not usually seen as dragon-slayers. But such is the power and efficacy of the death of Christ. Because of Christ’s shed blood on the cross, sin has lost its grip on us. Whenever Satan accuses us, we can sing, “My chains are gone; I’ve been set free.”

Bible Teaching of the Day
The body without the spirit is dead
James taught extensively about the implications of faith in Jesus Christ. In James 2:14–26, he emphasizes the intrinsic connection between one’s faith and one’s actions. Genuine saving faith will move us to do more than merely offer sympathetic words to someone in need; it will prompt helpful actions (verses 15–17). James gives the example of two Old Testament believers, Abraham and Rahab. These two vastly contrasting figures demonstrated the reality of their faith through obedience to God and righteous works (see verses 21–25). James concludes, “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead” (verse 26).
The word translated as “body” (sōma in the original Greek) in James 2:26 refers to the flesh-and-bones physical structure of an organism or human being. The “spirit” is pneumatos in Greek, a word that means “wind or breath” and is understood as the internal soul or the spiritual, life-giving essence of a person—the intangible, immaterial existence.
Genesis 2:7 states that God formed the first human being by breathing “the breath of life” into his body, “and the man became a living being.” This pairing of body and spirit produced a living person. When a human dies, the spirit or soul leaves the body and returns to God, while the body decomposes back into the earth (Ecclesiastes 12:7; Psalm 146:4). Thus, the body without the spirit is dead. It is simply a bag of bones—no longer a living, breathing person but a corpse.
Just as the human body is inert and incapable of movement without the spirit, one’s faith is considered dead and ineffective without corresponding actions. A person who professes to have faith in Jesus but has no outward signs of that faith has “faith without works”—a “dead” faith (James 2:26). His lack of good deeds reveals an unchanged heart. He is spiritually lifeless.
Merely claiming to believe without living out that belief is meaningless. But genuine faith will result in transformation. One’s devotion to the Lord will show through loving, compassionate, righteous deeds. Saving faith has the power to change one’s life. Warren Wiersbe describes such faith as “dynamic faith,” or faith that “is not intellectual contemplation or emotional consternation; it leads to obedience on the part of the will. And this obedience is not an isolated event: it continues throughout the whole life. It leads to works” (The Bible Exposition Commentary, vol. 2, Victor Books, 1996, p. 355).
James is not saying believers are made righteous by their works (cf. Romans 3:28; 4:1–25). Instead, he is teaching that our actions are the evidence of salvation. An authentic salvation experience by faith in Jesus will inevitably result in good works (cf. Ephesians 2:10). Jesus taught that His true disciples would be recognized by their fruits and that only those who produced “good fruit” and did God’s will would enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 7:16–23).
Understanding that the body without the spirit is dead helps us know why faith and good works are inseparably linked. A dead body cannot move, and a dead faith cannot produce. It is stationary, inert, and ineffective. A living body is active, just as a living faith is alive, sure to perform righteous, God-honoring deeds.
In essence, James wants readers to understand the importance of putting one’s faith into practice. It is not enough to simply believe. It is not even enough to profess our faith in words. We must reflect our faith by bringing it to life, letting it be seen in how we live and in everything we do (see Matthew 5:14–16; 1 Peter 2:12; 2 Peter 1:5–8; Titus 2:7; 3:8, 14).
Believers are saved by faith alone, but saving faith does not exist alone. It is accompanied by deeds that prove the genuineness of faith. Like Abraham and Rahab, we must do something with our faith. Martin Luther said of faith, “Oh, it is a living, busy, active, mighty thing, this faith; and so it is impossible for it not to do good works incessantly. It does not ask whether there are good works to do, but before the question rises; it has already done them, and is always at the doing of them. He who does not these works is a faithless man”
Hy is geestelik leweloos.

Today’s Devotional
Seeing someone come to faith in Christ
Nothing is more exciting than seeing someone come to faith in Christ. Seeing God open closed hearts and illuminate dark minds is a rewarding part of belonging to His spiritual family. But just as important as new believers coming to faith in Christ is the growth that must follow that new birth (John 3:3; 2 Peter 3:18). Newborn babies are not left alone and expected to thrive. They are welcomed by families who feed them, train them, and help them grow. So it is in God’s family. When new believers join us, it is our responsibility to feed them, train them, and help them grow.
The Bible places a premium on spiritual growth: “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation” (1 Peter 2:2). If babies do not get pure milk in the first year of life, they will not develop into healthy adults. Likewise, new believers need the basics before they can advance in their understanding of deeper spiritual truths. Churches should offer new believer classes, life groups, and other opportunities for Christian fellowship. In this age of increasing biblical illiteracy, it is likely that a new believer is unfamiliar with many concepts more mature Christians take for granted.
Reading or listening to the book of Genesis is helpful for new believers. Without that foundation, there is little to build on. Christian friends can read Genesis together and meet for coffee once a week to discuss what they read. Many of the events and truths that occur later in the Bible have their roots in Genesis, so learning about the beginning of the world (Genesis 1—2), the first sin (Genesis 3), and God’s selection of Abraham as the father of the Jewish nation (Genesis 12) are critically important in understanding the ways that God later worked in human history.
Skipping to the New Testament, a new believer can read the book of Luke and then Acts. This combination gives new believers an overview of the life of Jesus and the beginnings of the church. Luke wrote both books, so there is a wonderful continuity between them. As a baby must have milk to grow, so new believers must have the Word of God. It is harmful to feed infants carbonated soft drinks instead of milk, and it is just as harmful to feed baby Christians inspirational tweets and self-help books instead of God’s Word. There is no substitute for the Word of God if new believers are to develop into strong, healthy Christians.
As supplements to the reading of God’s Word, other books, videos, and podcasts can be a helpful way for new believers to partake of biblical teaching throughout the week. The first Christians “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42). The early church grew rapidly because every new member was committed to growing and learning. They immersed themselves in teaching and preaching, fellowship with other believers, and prayer. It has never been easier for Christians to immerse ourselves in truth with the proliferation of good Bible teachers online.
Another way to help new believers is to guide them toward trustworthy Bible teachers and away from false teachers and charlatans who would fleece the flock. Religious frauds often “masquerade as servants of righteousness” (2 Corinthians 11:15), and it can be difficult for a new believer to distinguish truth from error. Help out new believers by warning them of deceivers and teaching them how to spot the deception. Also, actively promote books, websites, and ministries that are clearly committed to the Word of God.
So is dit ook in God se familie.

Ons kom so dikwels kort in baie situasies.
What's at stake:
To plant in a pot or not? That was the question someone I know struggled with when she wanted to plant a sapling last summer. The salesperson said she should first plant it in a pot to protect it from strong winds. Then she should plant it in the ground, so the roots can form. Now her neighbor disagreed with the merchant: "Planting it in a pot first can do more harm than good. It's not the best option. The sapling needs to start forming strong roots right away, and that won't happen if it's planted in a pot first." How important is this question in terms of relationships? For example, if someone gets into trouble, do we first plant him in a pot by saving him from his predicament, or do we allow him to form strong roots by forcing him to deal with the consequences of his actions? Of course, it depends on what will be best for the person's spiritual health. What will love do and when should it be done? Proverbs 19 gives opposite advice. We should show compassion and give help (Proverbs 19:17), but there are dangers involved, because if we have helped once, it may be asked for again (vs 19). Giving the right help at the right time requires special wisdom. God has not left us on our own. He will give us wisdom if we ask Him. And if we lean on Him our roots will be deeply anchored in Him.
We so often fall short in many situations. We know we will make mistakes, but teach us Lord to trust in You. Thank you for being there for us. Let our roots grow deep in You!
True wisdom is to look at the world through God's eyes.
Vandag - Hanna
Wie was Hanna?
Hanna se man het twee vrouens gehad.

Women in the Bible—What Can We Learn From Them?
Today – Hannah
What did she do? When Hannah was childless, she turned to God for comfort. Hannah’s husband had two wives. His other wife, Peninnah, had children; however, Hannah remained childless for a long time after her marriage. Peninnah cruelly taunted her, but Hannah prayed to God for comfort. She made a vow to God, saying that if God granted her a son, she would give the child to him by arranging for the child to serve at the tabernacle, a transportable tent used by Israel for worship.—1 Samuel 1:11.
Who was Hannah? She was the wife of Elkanah and the mother of Samuel, who became a prominent prophet in ancient Israel.—1 Samuel 1:1, 2, 4-7.
God answered Hannah’s prayer, and she gave birth to Samuel. Hannah kept her promise and took Samuel to serve at the tabernacle when he was still a little boy. (1 Samuel 1:27, 28) Year after year, she made a sleeveless coat for him and took it to him. In time, God blessed Hannah with five more children—three sons and two daughters.—1 Samuel 2:18-21.
What can we learn from Hannah? Hannah’s heartfelt prayers helped her to endure trials. Her prayer of gratitude recorded at 1 Samuel 2:1-10 reflects her deep faith in God.

INTRODUCTION TO THE GOSPEL ARTISTS
MEET : Johnny Minick

Johnny Minick was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. His father, John C. Minick, was employed by ABF Trucking and his mother, Marice, was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. They instilled in Johnny a love for God and an appreciation and love for music.
Johnny began his musical journey at the age of 3. The guitar was the first instrument he used to express his musical talent. He loved to sing in church while accompanying himself on the guitar.
At 6 year old he took an interest in piano. While visiting an aunt in Memphis, he sat down at her piano and within an hour could play a few basic chords. His talent with the keyboard was so obvious that his aunt gave him her piano. Johnny’s parents enrolled him in piano lessons where he began to study to be a classical pianist. Those years of classical training gave Johnny an important foundation for the artistry he now enjoys. In his teens, Johnny followed a fimiliar path that many other classically trained musicians follow; the road to jazz.
Johnny explored most all genre’s of music and soon found himself in the recording studio as a session musician. His ability to play any style of music endeared him to artists, producers and label executives. It was apparent, early on, that music would play an important role in Johnny’s life.
While it seemed that music would be the priority in Johnny’s future, something else had captured his heart. In 1967, while attending a New Year’s Eve Celebration at church, Johnny felt a definite call into ministry. He had been involved in music ministry now for several years, but, it was the pulpit that captured his attention. 1968 was filled with deliberation and wonder as Johnny pursued the idea of filling the pulpit. Soon to enter his teenage years, he would turn 13 in full pursuit of developing a pulpit ministry.
Ministry blossomed in both music and preaching during Johnny’s teenage years. The classical training continued as well as exploring the genre of jazz music. Johnny began using his knowledge of classical and jazz music to create his own unique style of gospel music. In 1970, Johnny and his Dad formed a singing group from out of their local church congregation. Mostly young people, but very talented and willing to try something different in gospel music. Their group, The Majestic Sound, became known for their unique style of gospel and Johnny’s intricate arrangements. The group took on a variety of configurations through the years ending up as a male quartet. The group’s popularity opened numerous doors of opportunity. Along with regional television and radio, gospel and country music promoters were booking Johnny and the group to open for headliners. It was during this time that a major door opened for Johnny. A door that would impact the rest of his life and ministry.
In 1972, a regional gospel music promoter booked Johnny and his group to open for The Happy Goodman Family. When the Goodmans heard Johnny play they approached him the same night about becoming their pianist. With another year of high school and no real inclinations to leave home, Johnny put the offer on the back burner and continued his education along with pursuing his calling to the ministry.
Early in 1974, Johnny and his sweetheart, Sherry McDonald announced their engaugement to be married in August of that year. After their wedding the invitation to join the Happy Goodman Family began to tug gently on Johnny’s heart. In the Summer of 1975, Johnny and Sherry packed up their belongings and moved to Madisonville, KY to become a part of The Happy Goodman Family. The next few years made an indelible mark on Johnny’s life and musical career. The exposure he received from being a part of The Goodmans endeared his talent and ministry to many of the Goodman fans. The years with the Goodmans were productive and continues to bear fruit to this day. His relationship with Howard, Vestal, Rusty & Sam continued until their deaths.
Johnny and Sherry returned to Arkansas after the birth of their son, Aaron. Johnny and his family launched an evangelistic ministry incorporating their music and pulpit ministry. After itenerating for several years Johnny felt the call to plant a church in the Little Rock area. In 1983, River Of Life was founded as an Assembly Of God Church. The church grew quickly under Johnny’s leadership and brought in Johnny’s cousins, Bob & Tony Minick to partner with him in ministry. The trio of pastors divided the responsiblities of the pastorate among themselves and continued growing the congregation, building a campus in Mabelvale, AR on Nash Lane.
In 1988, the evangelistic call sounded again for Johnny & Sherry. Once again the family was itenerating from church to church and gaining national attention with a song written by Johnny entitled, “How Long.” The song entered the Top 40 gospel charts and created a demand for Johnny and the family to sing in concert venues and churches across America. A Nashville recording label, Calvary Records, signed the Minick Family to a recording contract, promoting their talent to a national radio audience. In 1991, Johnny accepted an opportunity from country music legend, Willie Nelson, to come to Branson, MO every Sunday to conduct a worship service in his newly aquired Theater. That proved to be a fruitful time for Johnny and his family as they led hundreds of vacationing tourists to a relationship with Jesus Christ.
In 1992, Johnny felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to plant a church in the little town of Smyrna, TN. (a bedroom community of Nashville)
Johnny and his family all sold their homes in Little Rock and relocated to the Nashville, TN area to plant River Of Life in Smyrna, TN. The process was familiar to Johnny, having been a church planter in Little Rock. The first service was small (about 8 people) but the little church family grew quickly and began to impact their community. In 1994, the congregation purchased 21 acres on Sam Ridley Parkway and made plans to build a home campus.
The mid 90’s brought quite a surprise when Johnny reunited with Howard & Vestal Goodman to revive the Happy Goodman brand. With the success of the Bill Gaither Homecoming videos and concerts, The Happy Goodmans found a platform to promote their music around the world. From 1995 through 2002, Johnny traveled 3 days a week singing to 1.3 million people per year attending their concerts from coast to coast and in Europe. At the same time, River Of Life continued growing and enjoying their new worship facility at their Sam Ridley Parkway location.
After the death of Howard Goodman in 2002, and then Vestal Goodman in 2003, Johnny concentrated on expanding ministry from River Of Life and Johnny Minick Ministries by means of television and internet broadcasting. The new century was full of opportunity giving JMM a global presence. Every Sunday Johnny would preach and sing from the broadcast center at River Of Life to a growing audience of thousands watching over the internet and satellite television. As broadcast technology developed, JMM was the first in the Nashville area to broadcast in High Definition. They were also the first in the Southeastern U.S. to aquire LED lighting for their studio productions.
In 2014, Johnny, Tanya Goodman Sykes and her husband Michael Sykes started singing together as Goodman Revival. In February of 2014 they went into the studio and recorded their debut project, “Songs In The Key Of Happy.” Spring House Music heard the recording and leased the project to be distributed through the Gaither Music Network and in October 2014 a companion video was produced at the Gaither Studios in Alexandria, IN.
In 2018, Johnny & Sherry retired from the full time ministry of pastoring and passed the mantle on to their son, Aaron and his wife, Julie. Johnny & Sherry continue their ministry in churches nation wide and a few special events globally.
Johnny and Sherry enjoy a very full life of ministry and music. One of their greatest joys is spending time with their son, Aaron, his wife, Julie, and their 4 grandchildren, Hayden, Preston, Londin and Brooklyn.

This Is The Real Reason Why Trump Stopped Israel
By now everyone who is paying attention saw or heard President Trump drop the F-bomb in relation to Israel and Iran when it came to the fragile ceasefire he imposed. Why did Trump claim Israel broke the ceasefire when the timeline clearly showed they did not? Some pundits have chalked it up to Trump throwing a fit or trying to placate his non-interventionist wing of the MAGA movement by showing he is not “controlled by Israel,” but in truth none of that makes sense. So what is really going on here?

From Cradle To Coffin: How The UK Became A Culture Of Death

The new message from Britain’s leadership? Life is optional. Disposable. Negotiable. If it inconveniences you, burdens you, depresses you, or frightens you–there’s a legal exit now. One for the unborn. One for the terminally ill. Tomorrow, one for the depressed. The United Kingdom has become the United Culture of Death.

This was a war not just of survival, but of clarity. And now, with that clarity in hand, we must confront a more uncomfortable truth: if we do not finish the work here at home—in Judea and Samaria—we risk squandering the very victory we just achieved.

In the following lectures we are going to look at the effords that the scribes has undergone
to translate the Bible into Greek and then into English and Dutch.
2.0 Translations before the reformation period.
Nederland and England went through a dull period during the mid evil times. During
this period many attempts has been made to translate the Vulgate into German.
2.1 Manses Mathew
The ‘Menses Mathew’, had its origin in a Mission in Austria. Menses Mathews has
converted Latin into a logic language that would make sense to the everyday man and
attempt to translate the Bible directly from Latin into English. This did not work and a lot
of discrepancies and faults came to be. One example is the “Singing” of the cockerel when
Peter denies Knowing Jesus Christ instead of that the cockerel has Crowed 3 times.
2.2 Many Partial Translations.
Many scribes attempt to translate the word of God into German. There were at least 1300
unsuccessful attempts. In 1325 three Old Testament and two New Testaments, Five
Evangelic books and twenty Psalms saw the light.
From the above affords it proved that there was indeed a demand by people to have their
own German Bible. The product was expensive and not of good quality, so people could not
afford it.
2.3 Resistance from the Roman Catholic Church
The attempters also picked up a lot of resistance from the Roman Catholic Church which
was the Main Stream church of the time. The Priests claimed that the translation books
were of inferior quality and that it even dishonor the revelations made in the scriptures.
The People were told to be happy with the true Bible of the Roman Church. After all
these scribes to be has been schooled by the Priests and the priests knew that they
have received limited training.
Pope Gregarious VII argued that God has purposely placed certain difficult sections in the
Bible so that only the Priests could understand it.
Pope Innocent went so far as to call that all people be punished that dares to try and
understand the bible.
2.4 Mentel of Strasbourg
Mentel of Strasbourg issued the first German in Hilde, Austria. This too was a poor afford.
It was a direct translated hand written copy of the Vulgate and even the grammar was bad,
full of spelling mistakes. Even the German words were mixed with Latin phrases.
Identification of sentences were difficult as mistakes like “the quick God” instead of the
Merciful God and phrase like the prayers were poured out instead of “Done” just created
chaos.
Not was it only a bad example, but it was also a large and clumsy presentation of 2
foot by 1 foot with 405 thick pages in it. The cost was excessive and equivalent to a tribe
of oxen. No wonder the German people was looking for a cheaper alternative
dieselfde verlange in Holland geheers.
1.1 Bybelvertalings in Nederland
Hulle was ‘n
