Romeine 2:12
Gebed
Here. Bible Teaching of the Day
Faith is the substance of things hoped for!
The writer of Hebrews opens chapter 11 with a brief description of faith: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1, NKJV). This statement should not be regarded as a complete definition of faith. Instead, the author focuses on two critical aspects of a much broader theological concept to introduce a famous gallery of Old Testament heroes of faith. The first vital facet of faith is that it is “the substance of things hoped for.”
The word for “substance” (KJV, NKJV) in the clause faith is the substance of things hoped for, is alternatively translated as “assurance” (ESV), “confidence” (NIV), and “the reality” (NLT). In the original Greek, the term conveys the idea of “a firm foundation,” “the real being,” “the actual existence,” “the substantial nature,” and “a resolute trust.” One sense of the word refers to a title deed or a legal document guaranteeing the right to possess a property.
According to Moulton and Milligan in Vocabulary of the Greek New Testament, “faith is the substance of things hoped for” could be translated “faith is the title-deed of things hoped for” (Robertson, A. T., Word Pictures in the New Testament, Nashville: Broadman Press, 1960). Another commentary suggests that faith, as described in Hebrews 11:1, “apprehends reality: it is that to which the unseen objects of hope become real and substantial. Assurance gives the true idea. It is the firm grasp of faith on unseen fact” (Vincent, M. R., Word Studies in the New Testament, Vol. 4, New York: Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1887, p. 510).
The clause faith is the substance of things hoped for describes a conviction that already takes custody—here and now—of what we hope for and what God has promised us in the future. This present-day ownership of things hoped for and promised in the future is an inner reality. Right now, amid a global pandemic, financial crisis, and social unrest, as our world seems to be falling apart, we can stand on the rock-solid, unshakeable promises of God’s security, rest, peace, provision, mercy, grace, and salvation. His Word can be trusted. We can have full confidence in the Lord’s promises because they are real and a firm foundation for this life.
This “substance” or “assurance” describes our inward response to God’s trustworthy, unfailing nature. We can be sure of the Lord’s promises because, as the writer of Hebrews goes on to show, biblical heroes of every generation have proven them to be true: “By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead. By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death” (Hebrews 11:4–5). On and on goes the list. By faith Noah built the ark, saved his family, and became an heir of righteousness (Hebrews 11:7). By faith Abraham obeyed God and moved from his homeland (verses 8–10).
The writer of Hebrews presents example after example of those who demonstrated faith as the substance of things hoped for: “All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth” (Hebrews 11:13). From the patriarchs to King David to anonymous champions of faith, believers have trusted in God’s promises despite enduring unimaginable challenges (verses 17–38).
Faith, being the substance of things hoped for, is also an outward force. Possessing the reality of hope supplies believers with the motivation to endure trials and hardships. It results in decisive obedience—the kind that caused the ancient heroes of faith to act upon their hope. Faith, as the substance of things hoped for, activates believers to preach boldly, pray unceasingly, love unconditionally, serve compassionately, and work tirelessly “as long as it is day” (John 9:4). The inward substance of faith moves our hearts while the external reality moves mountains.
Volgens Moulton en Milligan in Vocabulary of the Greek New Testament, kan “geloof is die substansie van dinge waarop gehoop word” vertaal word as “geloof is die titelakte van dinge waarop gehoop word” (Robertson, A. T., Word Pictures in the New Testament, Nashville: Broadman Press, 1960).

Today’s Devotional
‘MARKS OF A TRUE CHRISTIAN”
In recent times I have heard many say that they are no longer living under law but under grace. I have heard them quoting 2 Corinthians 12:9 saying God’s grace is sufficient. Unfortunately, many are using the message of grace as a license to continue a life in sin, as an excuse not to live a holy life.
When confronted with the question whether we should sin more for God’s grace to abound Paul answered with an emphatical or definite “No.” (See Romans 6:15)
Just so, in Titus 2:11-12 we read, “For God has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people. That grace instructs us to give up ungodly living and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world.”
From the above scriptures it is clear that the grace of God is not a substitute for Holy living and that grace cannot be used as an “escape route,” an excuse, or as justification to live a double-hearted and un-consecrated life.
But being a Christian or living a holy life requires more than laying down our sinful ways. In his letter to the Romans, Paul clearly defines the marks of a true Christian. He writes,
Love must be completely sincere. Hate what is evil, hold on to what is good. Love one another warmly as Christians and be eager to show respect for one another. Work hard and do not be lazy. Serve the Lord with a heart full of devotion. Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times.
Share your belongings with your needy fellow Christians and open your homes to strangers. Ask God to bless those who persecute you—yes, ask him to bless, not to curse. Be happy with those who are happy, weep with those who weep. Have the same concern for everyone. Do not be proud but accept humble duties. Do not think of yourselves as wise.
If someone has done you wrong, do not repay him with a wrong. Try to do what everyone considers to be good. Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody. Never take revenge, my friends, but instead let God’s anger do it. For the scripture says, “I will take revenge, I will pay back, says the Lord.”
Instead, as the scripture says: “If your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them a drink; for by doing this you will make them burn with shame.” Do not let evil defeat you; instead, conquer evil with good. (Romans 12:9-21)
As we continue to seek God’s face, let us also present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is our reasonable service. Let us not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds, in order to prove by what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)
(Sien Romeine 6:15)
Hy skryf:
Liefde moet heeltemal opreg wees.
(Romeine 12:1-2)

MEET : HIGH ROAD

Ask Sarah Davison what her favorite Bible verse is, and she’ll immediately quote Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” It’s a scripture that has accompanied the acclaimed singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist through life’s highs and lows, and one she hand-copied—in a flowery cursive script—from her grandmother’s Bible. “That verse has been with me from my Iowa hometown of 150 people to Nashville, going after what I feel called to do, trusting that He’s leading me down the right road,” she reflects.
It’s not only a scripture that beautifully encapsulates Sarah’s own journey, but the ordained path of her Grammy nominated band that she formed in 2011, HighRoad, as well. A gifted pianist, vocalist and piano performance graduate of Belmont University, Sarah often lends her talents to a veritable who’s who of leading country artists. She toured with iconic Country Music Hall of Famer George Jones’ band on his final tour of Canada, she performs regularly on the Grand Ole Opry with ACM Award-winner and Opry member, Mark Wills, Emily Ann Roberts, Grand Ole Opry members, the Isaacs, and will be touring on the 2023 Blake Shelton Tour. Sarah has written choral pieces performed by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and co-written High Road’s #1 Gospel Charting Song, Christ My Hope, My Glory, performed with Grammy and Dove winner, Jason Crabb. She has been the pianist for Gaither Homecoming series tapings featuring Bradley Walker and actor, Dennis Quaid. Sarah was the musical director for the Dove Awards segment last year tributing women in Gospel music, arranging the old spiritual song, Working on a Building, featuring 12 ladies of varying Christian music genres.
Since the group’s genesis, Sarah and bandmates have already garnered a Grammy Nomination for the album, “Gonna Sing, Gonna Shout”, the Singing News New Artist of the Year, two Dove Award nominations for Bluegrass/Roots Album of the Year, and Singing News Band of the Year for 2022. They regularly perform at leading country and Gospel music events including 40 Days at the Ark Encounter, Singing In The Sun, Women of Joy, The National Quartet Convention, Dollywood, and more.
With a fanbase easily canvassing an array of genres—from country, to bluegrass, to Gospel, to contemporary Christian—the ladies of HighRoad combine grassy instrumentation, lush harmonies, original songs, and gentle nostalgia-laden melodies harkening back to their roots. In 2024, they will release a much anticipated project alongside Grammy winning producer, Ben Isaacs, and their record label DayWind Records. This album will feature a duet with Ricky Skaggs, Scotty Inman, The Isaacs, and more as well as original songs from this acclaimed group of ladies.

Russia’s ‘Pearl Harbor’ – 7 Hard Questions That Everyone Should Be Asking
The Ukrainians understand that the only way that they can win this war is to get NATO involved. That is why they just launched a surprise attack on Russia’s strategic nuclear bombers. They need the Russians to do something so dramatic that it will finally drag NATO directly into the conflict.
In a world where deception is running rampant, it is so important to question the narratives that we are being fed. Ukraine’s “Pearl Harbor” attack on Russia was extremely impressive, and it appears that quite a bit of damage was done.
But we are also extremely fortunate that this attack did not spark a nuclear war. If our nuclear bombers at Minot Air Force Base, Barksdale Air Force Base, and Whiteman Air Force Base were hit in a surprise attack, would we show similar restraint?
We are literally closer to nuclear war right now than we have ever been in all of human history, and those that are mindlessly celebrating Ukraine’s recklessness don’t seem to have any idea. Striking Russia’s strategic nuclear assets is a really, really, really bad idea.
Now Vladimir Putin will feel compelled to respond very forcefully, and the Ukrainians are very much counting on that. The following are 7 hard questions that everyone should be asking about the “Pearl Harbor” attack on Russia.
#1 Does anyone actually believe that Ukraine was able to pull this off without any outside help?
It seems doubtful that the Ukrainians could have planned, organized and pulled off an operation of this magnitude without any western assistance.
Apparently the drones that were used in the attack were hidden inside the roofs of wooden sheds which were driven to their locations by truck drivers that had no idea what their trucks were carrying…
Ukraine was able to carry out its stunning “Operation Spider Web” attack on Russian air bases and nuclear fleet by hiding explosives-laden drones in wooden sheds, according to officials.
Kyiv’s secret service (SBU) stashed the attack drones inside the roofs of the sheds, which were loaded onto trucks that were driven to the perimeter of the air bases, Ukrainian authorities revealed in a statement shared on social media.
The roof panels were then lifted off by a remotely activated device so the 117 drones used in the strikes could fly out and make their devastating attacks.
That is a brilliant plan.
Perhaps the Ukrainians came up with it themselves.
But how did they get the precise coordinates of the targets that they were going to hit?
And how were the drones guided to those precise coordinates?
We definitely need some answers, but I don’t think we are going to get them.
#2 Other than the Ukrainians, who knew about this attack in advance?
The Ukrainians and the Trump administration are both telling us that President Trump did not know about this attack in advance…
Ukraine did not notify the Trump administration of the attack in advance, a Ukrainian official said. A U.S. official also told reporters the Trump administration was not made aware of the attack.
I do think that there is a very good chance that President Trump had no idea this attack was coming.
Of course even if he did know the attack was going to happen in advance, officials would still deny it in order to protect him.
For the moment, let’s assume that Trump knew nothing.
Okay, but what about everyone else?
Are we supposed to believe that nobody else knew anything about a major operation that the Ukrainians had been working on for a year and a half?
Somebody knew something, and we need to know when they knew it.
#3 Why were Russian bombers just sitting out in the open?
Having extremely expensive bombers just sitting out in the open seems like a really foolish thing to do.
But the truth is that there is a very good reason why nuclear bombers are kept out in the open where everyone can see them…
For decades, treaties kept nukes in check, bombers had to be out in the open, silos sealed, so nobody could pull off a surprise strike.
It was the thin line stopping World War III.
Zelensky shattered it all in one move. He threw out the rules, erased decades of stability, and threw us straight back into Cold War chaos.
#4 How much damage was actually done?
The Ukrainians are claiming that more than 40 aircraft were hit during the attack and a total of approximately 7 billion dollars in damage was done…
Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has officially confirmed it carried out a major drone strike against Russian military airfields, damaging or destroying what it claims is 34 percent of Russia’s strategic cruise missile carriers, in a long-planned covert operation codenamed “Spiderweb.”
The SBU said the strikes, which targeted airfields housing Russia’s long-range bombers, resulted in an estimated $7 billion in damage – a figure that has not yet been independently verified.
“Seven billion US dollars. This is the estimated cost of the enemy’s strategic aviation, which was hit today as a result of a special operation by the SBU – ‘Spiderweb,'” the agency said in a statement released Sunday, June 1.
But other sources are claiming that the damage was far less extensive…
Judging by the images, four Tu-22M3 bombers and three Tu-95MS bombers were likely destroyed during the operation. In addition, one Tu-95MS was probably damaged.
What everyone can agree on is that Russian strategic nuclear bombers were hit, and this could have easily sparked a nuclear war.
#5 The Ukrainians know that Russia reserves the right to use nuclear weapons if their strategic nuclear assets are attacked. So why would Ukraine risk this?
As Scott Ritter has aptly pointed out, the Russians recently updated their nuclear doctrine to specifically address the kind of attack that just happened…
In 2024 Vladimir Putin ordered Russia’s nuclear doctrine to be updated to consider the complicated geopolitical realities that had emerged from the ongoing Special Military Operation (SMO) in Ukraine, where the conflict had morphed into a proxy war between the collective west (NATO and the US) and Russia.
The new doctrine declared that nuclear weapons would be authorized for use in case of an “aggression against the Russian Federation and (or) its allies by any non-nuclear state with the participation or support of a nuclear state is considered as their joint attack.”
Russia’s nuclear arsenal would also come into play in the event of “actions by an adversary affecting elements of critically important state or military infrastructure of the Russian Federation, the disablement of which would disrupt response actions by nuclear forces.”
Thankfully, the Russians showed restraint and did not use nukes.
But do we really want to bet the continued existence of our society on the ability of Vladimir Putin to show restraint every time the Ukrainians provoke him?
#6 How will the Russians respond?
Many in the Russian media are openly discussing the possibility of using nuclear weapons in response to this attack…
Russian papers and military bloggers are discussing the prospect of Russia using nuclear weapons to strike Ukraine after Kyiv launched brutal strikes on Vladimir Putin’s airbases. The country is reeling after Ukrainian drones are reported to have destroyed more than £5 billion worth of strategic bombers in what some pro-Kremlin commentators have described as Russia’s “Pearl Harbour”.
Thankfully, Vladimir Putin isn’t going to use nukes at this stage.
But everyone agrees that he will strike back really hard.
Will he use his new Oreshnik missiles against Ukraine?
Will Ukrainian cities be targeted?
Unfortunately, it probably won’t be too long before we find out what Putin intends to do.
#7 Why would the Ukrainians conduct such an attack if they knew that the Russians would strike back really hard?
Many have pointed out that the “Pearl Harbor” attack came just prior to the peace talks in Istanbul.
If Ukraine really wanted to give those talks a chance to succeed, they wouldn’t have launched such an attack right before they started.
But this attack wasn’t really about the peace talks at all.
When the Ukrainians first started planning this operation, they had no idea that these peace talks would happen.
Ultimately, the primary goal of this operation was not to derail peace talks.
Rather, the primary goal of this operation was to provoke a Russian response that is so large that it will force NATO to join the war.
The Ukrainians understand that the only way that they can win this war is to get NATO involved.
That is why they invaded Kursk, that is why they tried to shoot down Putin’s helicopter, and that is why they just attacked Russia’s strategic nuclear bombers.
They need the Russians to do something so dramatic that it will finally drag NATO directly into the conflict.
Of course once we are directly at war with Russia, we will be just one step away from the unthinkable.
So I really hope that President Trump can see through the charade and understand what is really going on.
There is going to be so much pressure on him during the days ahead, and ultimately he will be the one that decides which way things go.

Places in the Bible
Edom

Nahal Zered
The Zered River is believed by most to be Wadi al-Hesa. There are some difficulties with this identification, but most follow it. It is 35 miles (55 km) long and 3.5 to 4 miles (5.5–6.5 km) wide, and drains into the Dead Sea near the southeastern corner. The Zered forms the southern border of Moab and the northern border of Edom. The Israelites crossed the Zered 38 years after they first left Kadesh Barnea (Deut 2:13-14).
Bozrah, Capital of Edom
The modern city of Buseirah preserves the name and location of ancient Bozrah, the ancient capital of the Edomites (cf. Isa 34:6; 63:1; Jer 49:13). The earliest significant remains at Buseireh are from 800 BC. It has the largest Iron Age buildings found in Transjordan, among which was perhaps the king’s palace.

Sela
The term “Sela” is used 65 times in the Hebrew Bible, usually meaning “rock,” but 6 times it is used as a place name. Four or five of the references are apparently to a site that preserves this name near Bozrah. As part of a condemnation of Edom, Obadiah 1:3 states: “The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rock [Sela], in your lofty dwelling, who say in your heart, ‘Who will bring me down to the ground?’” (ESV).
Beidha, Neolithic Site
Beidha is one of the oldest excavated Neolithic villages. Much has eroded, but remains are preserved from the Pre-Pottery Neolithic period (ca. 7200–6500 BC). The earliest houses were round and built partly underground. Slots in the walls held wooden beams that supported the roof. After the site was destroyed by fire, it was rebuilt with rectangular and circular houses. The site was abandoned in 6500 BC and never again inhabited.

Little Petra
Because of its resemblance to Petra, this site is often known as “Little Petra.” It is entered through a narrow, winding canyon (“siq”) known as the “cold Siq” (Siq al-Barid) because the high walls prevent sunlight from entering the canyon and warming it. The Siq is 1150 feet (350 m) long with three wider areas inside. Like its larger neighbor to the south, carved into the sandstone of Siq al-Barid are residences, storage areas, and tombs.
Via Nova Traiana, King’s Highway
Two highways ran north to south through Edom and Moab: the King’s Highway (shown here) and the Way of the Wilderness. The advantage of the King’s Highway was the accessibility of water and food, but its disadvantage was difficult crossings of deep canyons. The Israelites wanted to pass through Edom on the King’s Highway, but the Edomites forced them to go around, utilizing the Way of the Wilderness (Num 20:17-18; Deut 2:1-8).

Where does the Holy Spirit Live in my Body?
Being the New Temple of God?
The Heart Brain by Dr. Michelle Strydom MD. Click on the Read Question Mark to Read this Dynamic Article.
Hi i’m Dr. Michelle Strydom, Medical Doctor from Medi Cross Zimbabwe- And I Love the Lord. In my second year of medical school, I had to dissect a dead human body (cadaver) in a six week course on anatomy where we learnt all the names of the different bones, muscles, blood vessels and nerves in the body.
We started from the skin and dissected right to the bone. During those six weeks while I was dissecting and studying this human body, I used to wonder, “Where in this body does the Holy Spirit stay when we are born again?” Through the teaching of Dr. Caroline Leaf I found the answer:
We all know about the brain inside your head, but did you know that you
also have a smaller brain inside your heart? Science demonstrates that your
heart has its own independent nervous system, which is a complex system referred to as the “brain in the heart”.2 A brain is basically a collection of nerves. I explained earlier that you have 100 billion nerves in your brain inside your head.
Your brain inside your heart has 40 000 nerves.14 This heart brain works hand in hand with your pre-frontal cortex and free will’s decision making. Remember your free will is what you use to accept or reject thoughts and your pre-frontal cortex is your rational decision maker that you use to work through that strong emotion that rises up from the amygdala. The heart brain literally advises the free will and pre-frontal cortex what to do. It is proving to be a real intelligence force behind the intuitive thoughts and feelings you experience.1 The mini-brain of the heart literally functions like a conscience.14 This heart brain is the small still voice, it’s that gentle nudge, a voice of warning… it seems to be the voice of the Holy Spirit. I am not teaching this as doctrine but from scientific study of the functions of the heart brain it seems that:
The Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit through our heart
So we need to listen to that heart brain. Your heart brain knows what is good for you. Your heart advises your free will on what to do with a thought in your mind and helps you to make the right decision. As you are about to make a decision in your free will, there is a feedback loop that goes to your heart and your heart advice’s you – accept this thought, it is good for you or reject that thought, it is bad for you. If your mind is calm and you are at peace, you will hear the voice of your heart and you will know what is right.
However if there is a chaotic war of fearful, angry and anxious thoughts going back and forth and toxic thorn trees being re-activated and going mad all over the place, this will drown out the voice of your heart and you will find yourself struggling to differentiate between right and wrong.
Your heart will advise your free will what to do but your free will still ultimately makes the choice. The battlefield of the mind is at your free will – this is where you decide to listen to your heart or your flesh (carnal nature). For example, if an angry thought of unforgiveness and bitterness comes to your mind, your heart will advise your free will to reject that thought, to bring it captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10 v 5) and to forgive and release. Your free will has been advised by your heart on what is the right thing to do with that thought, but it is still up to the free will to decide whether to reject that
angry thought or meditate on it.
If you make a decision by your free will to listen to the voice of your heart, you reject that angry thought and choose to forgive that person, your heart will secrete a chemical called ANF (Atrial Natriuretic Factor). ANF is the peace chemical that literally calms your whole body down and makes you feel at peace.
It is very good for you – it produces health in your body, it motivates you and helps your brain to function more efficiently.14 When our heart is at peace, we are at peace.
If you make a decision by your free will to not listen to the voice of your heart and you choose to meditate on that angry thought, you begin to build a toxic thorn tree of bitterness. Also, because you did not listen to the voice of your heart, the heart doesn’t secrete ANF. Instead, the heart causes an imbalance We all know about the brain inside your head, but did you know that you also have a smaller brain inside your heart?
HEALING BEGINS WITH SANCTIFICATION OF THE HEART
in your whole body chemistry – your body goes into a toxic state of dis-ease that eventually leads to disease.
Obedience to God is not a thing to be taken lightly. When you choose to ignore the quiet prompting of the Holy Spirit in your heart, it has serious adverse effects on your health. Your whole body goes out of rhythm. Your heart is not just a pump, it is the body’s strongest oscillator – it pulls every other organ system of the body into its own rhythm. This rhythm can be peace or chaos. Peace means health. Chaos
means dis-ease and eventually disease.
2 Corinthians 10 v 4 – 5: “4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of the flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds. 5[In as much as we] refute arguments and theories and reasoning’s and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ.”
The Bible tells us to be careful what we think. You must never allow a thought to go unchecked – you need to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…and as you can see, there is an enormous reality to this from both a medical and Biblical perspective. The quality of your life and health is brought about by the quality of your thinking. If you are sick, you have to take responsibility with the help of the Holy Spirit to change your thinking and renew your mind with the Word of God so that you can pull down those negative strongholds in your brain.
Being a Christian means that you believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again. However, as Dr. Caroline Leaf preaches, it also means that you have put Him on the Throne of your life. The Throne of your life is there in your free will in the front of your corpus callosum. He not only wants to be your Saviour, He wants to be your Lord. As we submit our thoughts to God with our free will, the Holy Spirit will lead us to make the right decisions, reject the bad information that literally becomes hot air and build good memories into our brain that produce health in our body.
If you want your life to change, if you are not happy with the state of your
health, you have got to change your thinking. Start to become aware of what
you are thinking…think about what you think about. It takes a lot of discipline to become aware of what you are thinking. You will be amazed at how lazy you have actually been when it comes to your thought life. We just let whatever toxic thought pops into our mind roam in our head and then we wonder why we are sick and why we have tension headaches. Meanwhile if we would just control our thought life, we would be so much happier, healthier people.
So don’t sit back and be passive, watch out for what is going on in your mind, say to yourself, “What is my breeze through the trees activating now? What thorns and toxic strongholds are being activated? How am I feeling?” Don’t react to that first strong emotion that rises up from your amygdala. First stand back and analyze it with your pre-frontal cortex which is your rational decision maker and listen to the advice from the still quiet voice of the Holy Spirit in your heart. If that emotion is good for you – then run with that emotion. If it is not good for you, deal with it. Control your mind with your free will. Reject those toxic thoughts so that they become hot air and don’t penetrate your mind. Accept those good uplifting thoughts such as the Word of God and push it into the trees of your mind and grow branches.
That is great – you’ve built a good healthy memory. Remember, the more strong, good memories you build, the more healthy you become and the more intelligent you become. Now I don’t know about you, but increasing your intelligence is very appealing to me because the more intelligent you become, the more you use your mind correctly, the more wisdom you have, the healthier you become and the more enjoyable life becomes.
You will prosper and be in health, even as your soul (your mind) prospers (3 John v 2). And you will be able to help others as well. God gave you a phenomenal brain – purposefully use it to your advantage.
The more strong memories you build, the more healthy you become and the more intelligent you become.
Essential background knowledge of disease from a Medical perspective
“Whatever is true, whatever is worthy or reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there be any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].” (Philippians 4 v 8) Mathew 5 v 8 and Psalm 24 v 3 and 4 – “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God”.
When you get your inside world which is your mind and heart put right, then you can see God in your outside world. Here are some famous quotes:
Ralph Waldo Emerson: “You are what you think all day long.” J. Allen: “You are today where your thoughts have brought you. You will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.”
Dennis Watley: “It’s not what you think that holds you back – it’s what you think you are not.” Dr. Caroline Leaf: “As we think the brain has the ability to change itself for better or for worse. The recognition of this is a gigantic and significant leap in the history of mankind.”
It all starts and ends in the mind. Your mind is fully under your control.
You can affect the whole way in which you function, just by controlling your
thought life. When your thoughts are toxic, you are going to develop a disease.
Your thoughts have a direct link to your body through the mind body connection involving all the different nerve and chemical pathways via the hypothalamus.
If 87% of diseases are a result of what goes on in our thought life, then
87% of diseases can be cured by sorting out our thought life. When you meditate
on the Word of God, you are going to build lush trees in your brain that
have been scientifically proven to secrete healthy chemicals such as serotonin, dopamine, endorphins and enkephalins that cause healing. It is all in your thought life – the trees of your mind. This mystery or secret has been in the Word of God for thousands of years:
Revelation 22 v 2: “…the leaves of the trees are for the healing and restoration of the nations.”

Introduction to the Bible – Bible Summary
Summary of the Book of 2
Thessalonians
Author: 2 Thessalonians 1:1 indicates that the Book of 2 Thessalonians was written by
the apostle Paul, probably along with Silas and Timothy.
Date of Writing: The Book of 2 Thessalonians was likely written in AD 51-52.
Purpose of Writing: The church in Thessalonica still had some misconceptions about
the Day of the Lord. They thought it had come already so they stopped with their work.
They were being persecuted badly. Paul wrote to clear up misconceptions and to
comfort them.
Key Verses:
2 Thessalonians 1:6-7, “God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you
and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the
Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with powerful angels.”
2 Thessalonians 2:13, “But we ought always thank God for you, brothers loved by the
Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying
work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.”
2 Thessalonians 3:3, “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you
from the evil one.”
2 Thessalonians 3:10, “For even when we were with you we gave you this rule: If a man
will not work, he shall not eat.”
Brief Summary: Paul greets the church at Thessalonica and encourages and exhorts
them. He commends them for what he hears they are doing in the Lord, and he prays
for them (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12). In chapter 2, Paul explains what will happen in the
Day of the Lord (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12). Paul then encourages them to stand firm and
instructs them to keep away from idle men who don’t live by the gospel (2
Thessalonians 3:6).
Connections: Paul refers to several Old Testament passages in his discourse on the end
times, thereby confirming and reconciling the OT prophets. Much of his teaching on the
end times in this letter is based on the prophet Daniel and his visions. In 2 Thessalonians
2:3-9, he refers to Daniel’s prophecy regarding the “man of sin” (Daniel 7–8).
Practical Application: The Book of 2 Thessalonians is filled with information that
explains the end times. It also exhorts us not to be idle and to work for what we have.
There are also some great prayers in 2 Thessalonians that can be an example for us on
how to pray for other believers today.
Inleiding tot die Bybel – Bybel Samevatting
Opsomming van die Boek van 2
Tessalonisense
2 Thessalonicense 3:10 “Want selfs toe ons by julle was, het ons julle hierdie reël gegee:
As iemand nie wil werk nie, mag hy nie eet nie.”
In 2
