Hannah’s prayer for a son
1Sa 1:10 and she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.
11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
12 And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth.
13 Now Hannah, she spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.
14 And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? Put away thy wine from thee.
15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.
16 Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.
17 Then Eli answered and said, go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.
In Prayer, make promises to God, it shows motivation and then expects an answer from God.
Pray for healing for yourself.
Prayer with tears and emotion is very powerful, Crying to the Lord but it need to be sincere. Tears are the language of Heaven. God understands your tears.
Praying in the mind is allowed, but prayer out loud more powerful.
Prayer is pouring out your heart to the Lord.
Prayer in sorrow is welcome with God, but after prayer you should smile and “Cheer up” God will answer – just have faith.
Markus 12:30
Gebed
HERE.

Bible Teaching of the Day
Is a home church a true biblical church?
Churches in the New Testament era were indeed small assemblies that met in homes (Acts 2:46; 20:20). So, the practice of attending a home church, or house church, is biblically allowable. There also seem to be some good reasons to have house churches as opposed to large gatherings: greater intimacy, stronger relationships, single-mindedness, etc. The fact that large churches usually have their own small groups that meet in homes speaks to the value of the house church model. Several considerations should be made, however, concerning the reasons for creating a house church or choosing to attend one.
First, the fact that first-century Christians did something does not establish it as a pattern for all generations to follow, unless there is also a clear command to do so. Simply because Scripture records an event or practice does not, of itself, establish a mandate (or, in some cases, even approval). So, for example, the fact that early Christians in Jerusalem sold what they owned and shared the profits with other believers (see Acts 2:44–45) does not mean that we must do so today—although such selflessness and generosity would certainly be acceptable. Home churches are “biblical” in the sense that there is precedent in Scripture, but there is no biblical obligation to attend a home church.
Many believers who attend house churches interpret Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 14 as establishing a principle of participation, which implies the need for a smaller church gathering: “What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. . . . Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent. For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged” (1 Corinthians 14:26, 29–31). Some read this passage as not only descriptive of what was happening in Corinth but also prescriptive for all churches at all times, based on Paul’s words later in the context: “as in all the churches of the saints” and “was it from you that the word of God came? Or are you the only ones it has reached? If anyone thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that the things I am writing to you are a command of the Lord. If anyone does not recognize this, he is not recognized” (verses 33, 36–38). Nowhere else in Scripture do we find more consecutive verses addressing what to do when the local church gathers.
Second, home churches motivated solely by an effort to counter the “institutional church” have a questionable foundation. The given reason for starting a home church is usually to more closely align with the biblical model, but the unstated reason often seems to be displeasure with large church movements. While the complaints against large churches may be valid, they can lead to a divisive, “us-vs.-them” mentality that should be avoided (see Ephesians 4:3).
One final consideration is the issue of accountability. Any church, large or small, should follow the instructions of 1 Timothy 3:1–13 regarding elders and deacons. Members of a house church should make sure that (a) there are recognized elders and (b) the elders are biblically qualified. These men should be held accountable even as they hold the group accountable to follow sound doctrine (Titus 1:9).
In conclusion, there is nothing unbiblical about Christians gathering regularly in houses or large buildings or any other venue. Some benefits of a house church could be reproducibility, thorough discipleship through participation, a family atmosphere, and better financial stewardship. The Bible does not give any guidelines as to the proper size or location of a church meeting. What it does do is explain what is to take place at those meetings (Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 16:2; 1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Timothy 4:2). So long as biblical teaching (orthodoxy) and practice (orthopraxy) are foremost in the assembly, the format and location really do not matter.

Bybel Lering vir die Dag
Is ‘n Huiskerk ‘n ware Bybelse kerk?
Of het dit net by julle gekom?
Ten slotte, daar is niks onbybels daaraan dat Christene gereeld in huise of groot geboue of enige ander plek bymekaarkom nie.

Today’s Devotional
“Every Little Thing”
Every little thing I receive is a gift from God. The friendly smile of the gas station attendant, the greeting at the cash register, the handshake at the church door are all gifts from God. The hug from my child, the kiss on the cheek from my husband or the cup of hot tea are all gifts from God. The free “sample” with my newspaper, the discount coupon in the store or the “buy one, get one free” promotion are all gifts from God.
Every little thing I have or possess is a gift from God. The air we breathe, the food in the kitchen cupboard, the meat in the freezer and the fruit on the table are all gifts from God. Running water, electricity and also the little house we live in are gifts from God. A blanket, my bed and even the chair I sit on are gifts from God. My health, my family and my friends are gifts from God. My birth on earth was a gift from God but more than that, my rebirth or my salvation is a gift from God.
Every little thing I can give is a gift from God. To show mercy or to love is a gift from God. To be kind, patient or helpful is a gift from God. When I can give a slice of bread, a blanket or a sweater it is a gift from God. To be able to give a word of encouragement or a word of wisdom is a gift from God. To be able to pray for someone, to comfort someone or to lead a lost soul to God is a gift from God.
It is in these little things that we receive, in which we can see God’s greatness. It is because of the little things we possess that we can stand grateful before God. It is in the little things that we can do that we can live out God’s plan and become useful in God’s kingdom.
Come then, let us remember the little things we have received, the little things we possess as we begin to do little things for God and others. Then we will experience the greatness of God’s love, realize the extent of His grace, and even experience His hand of provision.
God calls each of us. “As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let it be as the oracles of God; if anyone serves, let it be as from the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory and dominion forever and ever.” (1 Peter 4:10) But some may think, “I don’t have much, just a little to give.” But let me remind you again of the song “Little is much” which reads: “In the harvest field now ripened, there’s a work for all to do. Hark; the master’s voice is calling, o the harvest calling you. Does the place you’re called to labor seem so small and little known? It is great if God is in it, and He won’t forsake His own. Little is much when God is in it. There’s a crown and you can win it, if you go in Jesus’ name.”
Vandag se Bemoediging
“Elke klein dingetjie”
My gesondheid, my familie en my vriende is ‘n gawe van God.
(1 Petrus 4:10) Maar sommigges mag dink: “Ek het nie baie nie, net ‘n klein bietjie om te gee” Maar laat ek jou weereens herinner aan die lied “”Little is much” wat lui: “In the harvest field now ripened, there’s a work for all to do. Hark; the master’s voice is calling, o the harvest calling you. Does the place you’re called to labour seem so small and little known? It is great if God is in it, and He won’t forsake His own. Little is much when God is in it. Labour not for we a lth or fame. There’s a crown and you can win it, if you go in Jesus’ name.”

Bible Prophecy in the News
Who will be the next pope?

The decision will be made when the College of Cardinals begins meeting in conclave from 16:30 on 7 May in the 15th Century Sistine Chapel.
It will involve 133 cardinals aged under 80, who will debate and then vote for their preferred candidate until a single name secures the support of two-thirds of them.
Their choice could have a profound impact on the Catholic Church and the world’s 1.4 billion baptised Roman Catholics, and it is harder than ever to predict who it will be.
With 80% of the cardinals appointed by Pope Francis himself, most are not only electing a pope for the first time, but will offer a broad global perspective.
For the first time in history, fewer than half of those given a vote will be European.
And although the college may be dominated by his appointments, they were not exclusively “progressive” or “traditionalist”.
Could the cardinals elect an African or an Asian pope, or might they favour one of the old hands of the Vatican administration?
Here are some of the names being mentioned as Francis’s potential successor. END OF ARTICLE

Signs of the Times
a Muslim Mahdi / Messiah is Here and He is trying to Replace the Pope
A powerful figure has emerged in the Muslim world, and his newly founded religion is gaining followers worldwide. Shockingly, on Easter Sunday, his followers declared him to be the new pope, and the next day, the Vatican announced that Pope Francis had passed away.

Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq, commonly known as Abdullah Hashem, was born in 1983 in Indiana to an Egyptian father and an American mother. He is an Egyptian-American and the founder of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light (AROPL), not to be confused with the Ahmadiyya community discriminated against in Pakistan. He claims to be the Qa’im Al Muhammad, the reincarnation or second coming of Muhammad and the Mahdi (Messiah). Adherents of the religion believe him to be the second of twelve Mahdis appointed in the will of the Prophet Mohammed.
The AROPL began in Iraq in the late 1990s and is now active across 40 countries. It estimates that 7,000 people have had contact with the movement. In 2018, the movement had a base in Sweden, but since 2021, it has had its headquarters in England. The group’s central mission is to build the Divine Just State, which a divinely appointed king will rule. This will be a theocratic state with the king appointed by, and a representative of, God rather than through a democratic election process. The AROPL is opposed to the idea of democracy.
He claims to be the “living successor of both Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ,” and his sermons bring “a divine message to the global Christian community.” He also claims to be “the successor to Simon Peter, the successor to Jesus Christ, the true and legitimate Pope.”
“Aba Al-Sadiq reveals that the vacancy of the Papal Throne is no accident, but a divine sign: the time has come for the rightful heir to assume his position,” his YouTube channel states. “As the true Pope and bearer of the Covenant, he calls upon the people of the Gospel to recognize the fulfillment of prophecy and return the Throne to whom it belongs. This is not merely a message—it is a call to truth, unity, and divine justice.”
The AROPL claims al-Hasan personally fulfills three “divine criteria” qualifying him and the Qa’im: being named in the last will, possessing exceptional knowledge, and advocating for God’s supremacy over human rule.
He claims to have fufliled ten prophecies mentioned in Islamic narrations. One of the prophecies concerned the death of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in 2015. AROPL also interprets the Muslim prophecy of the “sun rising in the West” as a prediction that Abdullah Hashem will rule over the Christian world.
Another prophecy is that Abdullah Hashem will establish a “new covenant”.
“Throughout history, God has established six previous covenants with humanity, well-known to those familiar with the Torah and the Bible, but all were ultimately broken by the people,” AROPL states. “The sixth covenant was God’s covenant with Prophet Mohammed. However, the savior of mankind is prophesied to come with a new covenant—the seventh covenant.”
In a manner that contradicts the edicts of mainstream Islam, this “seventh covenant” established by Abdullah Hashem will include members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Another “prophecy fulfilled” took place recently.
“On Easter Sunday, believers in the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light, followers of Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq, took to the streets and gathered outside churches in countries around the world—including Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, the United States, Canada, Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Vatican City, the United Kingdom, Spain, Croatia, Serbia, the Philippines, Thailand, Australia, Senegal, and Bangladesh—to announce to the world that a man had been chosen by God to lead humanity as the true Pope,” the website claimed, noting that Pope Francis’ death was announced the next day. “Believers declare that God has made His will known to all: a new Pope has indeed been chosen.”
“In an astonishing confirmation of their announcement, Pope Francis passed away the very next morning,” they claim. “Many believers—and even onlookers—are calling this event a direct sign from God, a visible miracle to affirm the legitimacy of Aba Al-Sadiq’s divine mission.”
“The vacancy of the Papal Throne is no accident, but a divine sign: the time has come for the rightful heir to assume his position,” his video claimed in a message aimed at Christians and Catholics. “As the true Pope and bearer of the Covenant, he calls upon the people of the Gospel to recognize the fulfillment of prophecy and return the Throne to whom it belongs. “
While this mixing of religions may sound confusing to most Westerners, this is an essential element of Muslim eschatology. There is no direct reference to a messiah in the Koran. However, Islam has a strong tradition of Mahdi, a redeemer of Islam who will come as a ruler. Islam has a strong belief in the Muslim Issa (Jesus) as the last and greatest prophet of Muhammad. In Islam, Jesus is not the son of God or divine, and did not die on the cross. Jesus ascended to heaven and is waiting for the Mahdi (Messiah). END OF ARTICLE
Pastor Dirk says == Jesus did warn of this in Matt 24 and Luke 21 . ” OTHER JESUS’S “ This “Mahdi” s timing was just _______ – Nothing to see , Just walk past.

Megiddo and the Valley of Megiddo
In the Bible, Megiddo is primarily known as the site of the final battle, Armageddon, in the Book of Revelation. It’s also mentioned in the Old Testament as a strategic city involved in various historical events, particularly battles.

Megiddo is an ancient city in Israel and the site of a number of military conflicts. Today it is the site of a kibbutz and some rich archeological digs (Tel Megiddo).
Megiddo is first mentioned in Joshua 12:21 as one of the cities of the “Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites” whose kings were defeated by Joshua. Megiddo was in the territory of Manasseh (Joshua 17:11; 1 Chronicles 7:29), and, although they were not able to completely drive out the residents, the Manassehites were eventually able to subjugate them (Judges 1:27).
Megiddo is also mentioned in conjunction with the battle between Sisera and Barak (with Deborah the judge) in Judges 5:19. Megiddo was later included in the territory of Baana son of Ahilud, one of Solomon’s twelve district governors (1 Kings 4:12). Megiddo was one of the cities that was rebuilt or fortified by Solomon (1 Kings 9:15).
Ahaziah, king of Judah, was wounded in battle against Jehu, who was attempting to overthrow Joram, the king of the northern kingdom of Israel. Ahaziah fled to Megiddo where he died from his wounds (2 Kings 9:27).
King Josiah of Judah, contrary to God’s will, fought against Pharaoh Necho at Megiddo and was killed there (2 Kings 23:29–30 and 2 Chronicles 35:22).
Zechariah 12:10–12 says, “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. The land will mourn, each clan by itself, with their wives by themselves: the clan of the house of David and their wives, the clan of the house of Nathan and their wives.” What happened at Hadad Rimmon is not explicitly mentioned in Scripture. This passage is the only time that place name in used in Scripture. Many Jewish and Christian scholars view this to be a reference to the “ultimate grief” of the Jewish people at the death of King Josiah. Zechariah 12 looks forward to a time when the nation will morn for the Messiah as they mourned for Josiah.
The New Testament does not mention Megiddo, but the term Armegeddon (Har Megiddo, or “Mount Megiddo”) is mentioned in Revelation 16:16 as a place of judgment against the enemies of God, which would seem to correlate with the imagery in Zechariah 12.
In popular culture the term Armageddon, usually separated from the biblical teaching, has become synonymous with “the end of the world involving a great military conflict.” When Christians hear the term Armageddon, they should not respond with fear but with confidence that Christ is the ultimate victor over all His enemies.

Introduction to the Bible – Bible Summary
Summary of the Book of Jeremiah
Author: Jeremiah chapter 1, verse 1 identifies the Prophet Jeremiah as the author of the Book of Jeremiah.
Date of Writing: The Book of Jeremiah was written between 630 and 580 B.C.
Purpose of Writing: The Book of Jeremiah records the final prophecies to Judah,
warning of oncoming destruction if the nation does not repent. Jeremiah calls out for
the nation to turn back to God. At the same time, Jeremiah recognizes the inevitability
of Judah’s destruction due to its unrepentant idolatry and immorality.
Key Verses:
Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set
you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can
understand it?”
Jeremiah 29:10-11, “This is what the LORD says: ‘When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this
place. For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
Jeremiah 52:12-13, “On the tenth day of the fifth month, in the nineteenth year of
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard, who served the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem. He set fire to the temple of the LORD,
the royal palace and all the houses of Jerusalem. Every important building he burned
down.”
Brief Summary: The Book of Jeremiah is primarily a message of judgment on Judah for rampant idolatry (Jeremiah 7:30-34; 16:10-13; 22:9; 32:29; 44:2-3). After the death of King Josiah, the last righteous king, the nation of Judah had almost completely
abandoned God and His commandments. Jeremiah compares Judah to a prostitute
(Jeremiah 2:20; 3:1-3). God had promised that He would judge idolatry most severely
(Leviticus 26:31-33; Deuteronomy 28:49-68), and Jeremiah was warning Judah that God’s judgment was at hand. God had delivered Judah from destruction on countless
occasions, but His mercy was at its end. Jeremiah records King Nebuchadnezzar
conquering Judah and making it subject to him (Jeremiah 24:1). After further rebellion,
God brought Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonian armies back to destroy and desolate Judah and Jerusalem (Jeremiah chapter 52). Even in this most severe judgment, God promises the restoration of Judah back into the land God has given them (Jeremiah 29:10).
Foreshadowings: Jeremiah 23:5-6 presents a prophecy of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ. The prophet describes Him as a Branch from the house of David (v. 5; Matthew
1), the King who would reign in wisdom and righteousness (v. 5, Revelation 11:15). It is
Christ who will finally be recognized by Israel as her true Messiah as He provides
salvation for His chosen ones (v. 6; Romans 11:26).
Practical Application: The Prophet Jeremiah had a most difficult message to deliver.
Jeremiah loved Judah, but he loved God much more. As painful as it was for Jeremiah to deliver a consistent message of judgment to his own people, Jeremiah was obedient to what God told him to do and say. Jeremiah hoped and prayed for mercy from God for Judah, but also trusted that God was good, just, and righteous. We too must obey God, even when it is difficult, recognize God’s will as more important than our own desires, and trust that God, in His infinite wisdom and perfect plan, will bring about the best for His children (Romans 8:28).
verstaan?”
God het belowe dat Hy afgodediens die strengste sou oordeel ( Levitikus 26:31-33 ;
hande is.
Romeine 8:28 ).
