Gain the whole world
In Matthew 16, Jesus asks what good it is for a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul (Matthew 16:26). To gain the whole world is to receive all the world has to offer—money, fame, pleasure, power, prestige, etc. To lose one’s soul is to die without a right relationship with Christ and spend an eternity in the lake of fire.
In the context of His rhetorical question, the Lord was predicting His suffering and death and resurrection (Matthew 16:21). When Peter resisted His teaching, Jesus rebuked him and said, “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns” (verse 23). Jesus then spoke to the crowd and reminded them that there was nothing worth more than one’s own eternal soul. Rejecting Christ might mean temporary, earthly gains, but it comes at the worst possible price.
The Jewish people had been waiting for a Promised One for many centuries. Most expected that this Messiah would be a military leader or a king like David or Solomon. Jesus’ disciples recognized that He was the One whom the prophets had predicted. However, Jesus did not speak about conquering with an army or by taking over the government. Instead, Jesus taught that the Messiah would suffer and die at the hands of men.
Just before He asks, “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” Jesus says that, in order to truly follow Christ, people must be willing to “deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). To take up one’s cross is a reference to being condemned to die. Jesus’ statement is symbolic of a total, final commitment.
In other words, one needs to be willing to give up everything in order to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Worldly suffering shouldn’t be a deterrent. This is the context of Jesus’ question, “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” If a person rejects Jesus and becomes the richest, most powerful person on earth, he has still made a poor decision. Sooner or later, earthly things will fade away. And that person will have lost the only part of himself that lasts forever. The day of reckoning is coming: “For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done” (Matthew 16:27).
There is nothing more valuable than a person’s soul. To trade that away is the epitome of foolishness. When a person chooses to embrace this world instead of heaven, he is forfeiting his soul. If a person rejects Christ for the sake of anything in this life, he will lose his soul. Esau despised his birthright, choosing stew instead; Judas sold the Savior for a few pieces of silver; Demas loved this present world and forsook the ministry. All three men thought they were gaining something but actually lost everything.
Vroeër of later sal aardse dinge verdwyn.

Bible Teaching of the Day
a Lesson from Jesus
Of all of Jesus’ many miracles, only the resurrection and the feeding of the 5,000 are recorded in all four Gospels. Obviously, the Gospel writers considered the feeding of 5,000 a significant miracle. When Christ fed the masses that day, He began with only “five barley loaves and two fish,” borrowed from a boy’s lunch (John 6:9). To feed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish is indeed miraculous, but the Greek term used in Matthew 14:21 specifies males, and Matthew further emphasizes the point by adding, “Besides women and children.” Many Bible scholars believe the actual number fed that day could have been 15,000—20,000 people.
Jesus’ disciples had wanted to send the people away because evening was approaching and they were in a remote place (Matthew 14:15). They knew the people needed to reach surrounding villages soon to buy food, find lodging, etc., or they would likely go hungry (Mark 6:36). But Christ had a better idea: “You give them something to eat” (Matthew 14:16). At this point, the disciples should have recalled the many miracles they had seen Jesus do. Perhaps some of them did, but Andrew asked, “What are [five loaves and two fish] for so many?” (John 6:9). And Philip exclaimed, “It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!” (verse 7).
Jesus called for the bread and fish to be brought to Him (Matthew 14:18). He then gave thanks for the meal, broke the bread, and gave it to His disciples to give to the crowd. Amazingly, the entire multitude was fed with that small meal. Jesus provided “as much as they wanted” (John 6:11), and “they all ate and were satisfied” (Matthew 14:20). Christ did not just meet the need; He lavished them with so much food that there were “twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish” left over (Mark 6:43).
God will shatter the pint-sized expectations of what His followers can do if they would learn to bring Him what they have already been given. “Little is much when God is in it.” When Christians are willing to offer their lives sacrificially, relinquishing their hold on whatever God has given them in terms of time, money, talents, etc., God will use these ordinary things to create extraordinary things. Christians must never believe their resources are too little to serve God. God delights in taking a humble, seemingly insignificant person and using him or her for His glory (see 1 Corinthians 1:27).
Philip’s mind immediately ran to the cost of the project. He quickly calculated how many man-hours of work it would take to feed all those people; he saw the task as impossible because he approached it as if everything depended on his own work. Jesus’ approach was different. Jesus bypassed all human effort and did the impossible. It’s “‘not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty” (Zechariah 4:6).
It is noteworthy that Jesus fed the people through the agency of His disciples. He could have simply snapped His fingers and caused everyone present to have a meal, but He didn’t. Instead, He “gave . . . to his disciples to distribute to the people” (Mark 6:41). In this way, the disciples had to trust the Lord for everything they distributed. They could only give as they received. Philip, Andrew, and the rest were put in a position of total dependence upon the Lord for the supply. God still uses people the same way today.
Christians should also be reminded that their problems are never too large (the “many” of John 6:9) for God to handle. Surely, Andrew was wondering, “What good are we going to do with only five loaves and two fish?” Of course, theoretically, believers know God can easily multiply whatever He wants, to feed as many people as He wants—He is God. The problem comes when we are faced with a practical outworking of the theory; we tend to doubt that God will want to meet our need.
There is a foreshadowing of Christ’s miracle in the life of Elisha in 2 Kings. Elisha told his servant to feed the people gathered there, although there was not enough food for the hundred men. One of the men said, “How can I set this before a hundred men?” (2 Kings 4:42–43) In the end, however, the men not only had enough to eat, but “they ate and had some left” (2 Kings 4:44). Isn’t that just like God? He says He will do more than provide for His people; He will give an abundance (Psalm 132:15).
Christians must bring their lives to God in a spirit of obedience and sacrifice, no matter how insignificant they may think their gifts or talents are (Romans 12:1). When doing so, expect God to do far beyond what can be imagined (Ephesians 3:20). Also, Christians should trust that God not only wants to meet the needs of His children, but He wants to lavish His children with spiritual blessings, even to overflowing (Psalm 23:5).
Bybel Lering vir die Dag
‘n Lering vanaf Jesus
“Min is baie wanneer God daarin is.”
Jesus se benadering was anders.

Today’s Devotional
Do Not Fear !!
Proverbs 29:25 says, “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.” A snare is a lure or a trap. Fishermen sometimes use snares to catch fish. Hunters use various kinds of snares to trap game. And Satan uses snares to trap human beings (Jeremiah 5:26). One of those snares is the fear of man.
The fear of man can be both physical and psychological. Jesus said to His followers, “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him” (Luke 12:4–5). Jesus was preparing the disciples for the physical persecution that would follow His resurrection (Luke 21:12; Acts 8:1). They would be beaten, stoned, flogged, and imprisoned (2 Corinthians 11:24–27). Many of them would be killed. Yet He warned them not to let the fear of man stop them from proclaiming the gospel. Even though His followers would undergo tremendous physical suffering for His sake, the trials would be brief and temporary (2 Corinthians 4:17). The moment they left the earth, they would forever reap rewards for their faithfulness. Wicked men could hurt them no longer (Revelation 3:5).
But a threat more prevalent to most Christians, especially those in Western and free nations, is the psychological fear of man. This fear is an anxious need to receive affirmation from those around us. The fear of man manifests as people-pleasing, compromised values, peer pressure, and a choice not to share our faith. The fear of man can be a snare when we allow it to influence our decisions. Rather than obey the voice of the Holy Spirit (John 10:27), we opt for avoiding unpleasant interactions. It’s easier to heed the fear of man than to invite the possibility of consequences. Consider the bold words of Peter when he and the other apostles were ordered to stop preaching in the name of Jesus: “We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29). The first disciples did not allow the fear of man to keep them from doing what God had called them to do.
The fear of man is a snare in that it supplants the fear of God in our lives. Since the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10), the fear of man sets us on the road to foolishness.
The fear of man has replaced biblical conviction in some so-called Christian circles today. Public opinion has overridden the clear teaching of Scripture on many social issues. Entire denominations are caving to the fear of man, and it has become a snare to them. The desire to be viewed by the world as progressive, enlightened, tolerant, or politically correct is a snare Satan has used to reel people into his way of thinking. The need to be liked and accepted has become more important than the Word of God to many professing believers, thus proving the truth of Proverbs 29:25.
Romans 8:31 points us away from the ensnaring fear of man: “If God be for us, who can be against us?” While Christians should always be sensitive to current social issues and be compassionate and kind to all, we must never allow the fear of man to determine our course. Thousands of martyrs could have avoided death had they only remained silent about their loyalty to Christ. If they had allowed the fear of man to silence them, they may have won the world’s applause but lost heaven’s. While Satan cannot steal the salvation of those born again into God’s kingdom (John 1:12; 3:3), he can and does use snares to steal our victory, our witness, and our opportunities to store up treasure in heaven by magnifying the fear of man (John 10:10; Luke 12:33).
’n Strikker is ’n lokaas of ’n lokval.

In ń wêreld waar woorde so sorgvuldig word, is haar opregtheid regtig verfrissend.
Refreshing Sincerity:
One of the things I appreciate most about my mother is her sincerity. I have asked her opinion on a matter many times and she will always respond with, "Don't ask my opinion unless you really want to hear it. I'm not going to try to work out what you want to hear, but you tell me what I really think."
In a world where words are so carefully considered, her sincerity is truly refreshing. It is also one of the tools of a good and trustworthy friend. True friends speak the truth in sincerity and with love - even if it is something we don't want to hear. As the proverbs so clearly say: "A friend who makes you see [with his words] you can count on (Proverbs 27:6).
That is one of the reasons why Jesus is the greatest friend. When He met the woman there, He refused to engage in any secondary reasoning, but instead spoke to the deepest needs and distresses of her heart (John 4:7-26). He spoke to her about the character of the Father, quoting Scripture, and also compassionately referring to her deep disappointments and dreams.
In our walk with the Lord, we must allow Him to speak to us directly and honestly through the Bible, exposing the true condition of our hearts. And may we be given the grace to be won to Him and to experience His love in difficult times.
Jesus always tells the truth!
VANDAG = Eva
Wie was Eva?

Women in the Bible—What Can We Learn From Them?
TODAY – Eve
Who was Eve? She was the very first woman and is the first woman mentioned in the Bible.
What did she do? Eve disobeyed a clear command from God. Like her husband, Adam, Eve was created as a perfect human with free will and the ability to cultivate godly qualities, such as love and wisdom. (Genesis 1:27) Eve knew that God had told Adam that if they ate from a certain tree, they would die. However, she was deceived into believing that she would not die. In fact, she was led to believe that she would be better off if she disobeyed God. So she ate the fruit and later induced her husband to eat it as well.—Genesis 3:1-6; 1 Timothy 2:14.
What can we learn from Eve? Eve is a warning example of the danger of dwelling on wrong desires. Against God’s clear command, she developed an overpowering longing to take what did not belong to her.—Genesis 3:6; 1 John 2:16.

Bible Prophecy in the News
Will The AI Explosion Require A ‘Proof Of Personhood’ Biometric ID?

The battle for your identity is no longer theoretical–it’s happening right now, and most people aren’t paying attention.
Reddit, one of the most influential platforms on the internet, is actively exploring the use of World ID, a biometric verification system powered by an orb-shaped device that scans your iris to prove you are a real person. Behind it is Tools for Humanity, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, whose involvement spans the very technologies creating chaos (AI) and now the systems designed to sort through that chaos (digital ID).
This isn’t just a tech upgrade. It’s a civilizational shift.
Under the banner of stopping bots and protecting children, a powerful coalition of governments and tech giants is working to embed identity verification into the foundations of the internet. And they’re not asking for your name or password anymore. They want your eye. Your face. Your biology.
At first glance, it seems innocent–even helpful. But the implications are deeply disturbing: a world where access to the digital public square, online services, and even commerce itself could soon depend on biometric approval. A world where no biometric ID means no access.
If that sounds familiar, it should. Revelation 13 warned of a time when buying and selling would be impossible without a specific mark. That prophecy, long dismissed by skeptics as hyperbole, is now startlingly plausible.
And it’s closer than you think.
A System of Control, Not Convenience
The World ID system works like this: you visit an “Orb,” which scans your iris and generates a cryptographic identifier stored on your phone. The system claims to protect privacy–no names, no data trails–but let’s be honest: the very act of submitting to a biometric scan is a surrender of something far more personal than a username. It is the surrender of your physical being as proof of participation in society.
The selling point is security and uniqueness. The real consequence is exclusion for anyone who refuses.
Reddit’s CEO Steve Huffman has already stated that age verification and AI abuse will soon make user identification unavoidable. “We will do our best to preserve anonymity,” he wrote, but his language betrays the truth: this is coming whether people want it or not. Soon, platforms may begin to treat non-verified users as second-class citizens–or block them altogether.
This isn’t a crackdown on bots. It’s the construction of a new internet caste system–the verified and the vanished.
The Road to Totalitarian Infrastructure
Behind this system is a dangerous centralization of power. Sam Altman already leads OpenAI, a company shaping the very language, images, and thoughts that flood the digital world. Now he may control the gatekeeping mechanism that determines who is allowed into that world.
If you want to speak, you may need his ID.
If you want to shop, you may need his verification.
If you want to exist online at all, you may need to submit to his Orb.
That is not innovation. That is infrastructure. And once embedded, it won’t be optional. As more people get verified, the pressure will mount on the rest of society to follow–or face digital exile. Like all authoritarian tools, it begins with voluntary adoption. It ends with mandatory compliance.
History has shown that the most dangerous systems are not those that arrive with sirens and guns–but those cloaked in efficiency, wrapped in safety, and sold as progress.
Revelation Wasn’t a Metaphor
Revelation 13:17 tells us of a time when “no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark.” Many have speculated what that mark might be–some imagined tattoos, others microchips. But perhaps it was always going to be digital. Perhaps it was never about the mark itself, but about the system that requires it.
Commerce today is digital. Identity today is digital. The town square today is online. Control access to that digital space, and you control everything.
When biometric ID becomes required for participation in the online economy, we have crossed a line that no generation before us could have imagined. We are not there yet–but we are now dangerously close. And the church, once mocked for its “end times warnings,” suddenly finds itself watching prophecy morph into policy.
The mark may not come with horns and flames. It may come in the form of a sleek metallic Orb offering free crypto and secure identity. But the result is the same: a world where refusal means exclusion, and compliance means total surveillance.
Signs of the Times
Iran Just Gaslighted Its Entire Population Into Thinking It Was Victorious

In the aftermath of the most recent conflict with Israel, the Iranian regime has declared a resounding victory. Fireworks lit the skies of Tehran. State-run news anchors beamed as they spoke of Israeli weakness. And Ayatollah Khamenei praised what he called “a historic blow to the Zionist regime.” But here’s the truth: Iran didn’t win. Iran lost-badly.
Churches Under Siege: Christian Worshipers Targeted At Home And Abroad

Christian churches are under fire–literally and figuratively–as violent attacks continue to escalate both in the United States and around the world. This past Sunday, two separate acts of targeted aggression–one in Michigan and another in Syria–sent a clear and chilling message: houses of worship are no longer sacred in the eyes of those bent on terror.

Trump Reveals What US will Do if Iran Rebuilds; Israel will Operate in Iran for ‘Years to Come’; Trump Says US and Iran will Have Talks

Last night, Israelis finally had a full night of sleep without rocket sirens, but the war is far from over. As we process this surreal ceasefire, the New York City Democratic party just selected Zohran Mamdani, a radical for Mayor, who wants to globalize the intifada and arrest Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, reminding us that the battle for Jewish survival, and Western civilization, isn’t just in the Middle East, it’s in the West as well.

The Bible
The word “Bible” comes from the Greek words “Biblos” and “Biblion” that
means “The Book” B y making use of a good concordance one can experience the
value of the messages and revelations captured the Bible.
The following Concordances are of good quality and can be recommended to further your
studies: The Young’s, Vines, Strong’s as well as E-Sword which is the Electronic Bible. It is
suggested that students make use of High Lighters to High Light Scriptures of Similar
Meanings.
The Bible is also known as:
2 .1 Book Roll
Psa 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O
God.
2.2 The Book
Gen 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in
the likeness of God made he him;
Exo 17:14 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and
rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek
from under heaven.
Mar 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of
Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the
God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Act 7:42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is
written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain
beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?
Luk 3:4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice
of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this
book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that
are written in this book:
2.3 The Word of God
Of all the names given to the bible, the Name “The Word of God” is the name that gives it the
real description. It reveals God Authority. The Name “Word of God” appears about 40 times
in the New Testament.
Mar 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have
delivered: and many such like things do
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
2.4 The Scripture
The word Scripture is only mentioned once in the Old Testament and 52 times in the New
Testament.
Dan 10:21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none
that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
Mat 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the
power of God.
Rom 1:2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
Luk 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the
scriptures the things concerning himself.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which
testify of me.
2.5 The Old and New Testaments
The word “Testament” means “Covenant” or “Agreement” Between two parties. The
Bible, Word of God, is the proof of Gods covenant agreement with His followers. The
f i r st Old Testament Covenant took place between God and Noah and then with
Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses and David. The Law of God was presented to
Moses on Mount Sinai. The Covenant contained the Laws of God for His people.
Jesus Himself introduced the New Testament to us when He was with His Disciples in
the Upper Room.
Luk 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood,
which is shed for you.
Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for
the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called
might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that
speaketh better things than that of Abel.
opsienersamp neem”
Lukas 20:42 “En Dawid self sê in DIE BOEK van die Psalms: Die Here het tot my Here
gespreek: Sit aan my regterhand”
Markus 7:13 “So maak julle dan DIE WOORD VAN GOD kragteloos deur julle
GOD”
behalwe julle vors Migael”
dinge so was”
