Does everything happen for a reason?
The short answer is “yes”; because God is sovereign, there are no random, out-of-control happenings. God’s purposes may be hidden from us, but we can be assured that every event has a reason behind it.
There was a reason for the blindness of the man in John 9, although the disciples misidentified the reason (John 9:1–3). There was a reason for Joseph’s mistreatment, although his brothers’ purpose in what they did to him was very different from God’s purpose in allowing it (Genesis 50:20). There was a reason for Jesus’ death—the authorities in Jerusalem had their reasons, based on evil intent, and God had His, based on righteousness. God’s sovereignty extends even to the lowliest of creatures: “Not one [sparrow] falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will” (Matthew 10:29, NET).
Several factors help us know that everything happens for a reason: the law of cause and effect, the doctrine of original sin, and the providence of God. All these demonstrate that everything does happen for a reason, not just by happenstance or by random chance.
First, there is the natural law of cause and effect, also known as the law of sowing and reaping. Paul says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life” (Galatians 6:7–8). This means that in every action we take or word we utter, whether good or evil, there are certain inevitable results that follow (Colossians 3:23–25). Someone may ask, “Why am I in jail? Is there a reason for this?” and the answer may be, “Because you robbed your neighbor’s house and got caught.” That’s cause and effect.
All that we do is either an investment in the flesh or an investment in the Spirit. We shall reap whatever we have sown, and we shall reap in proportion to how we have sown. “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously” (2 Corinthians 9:6). The believer who walks in the Spirit and “sows” in the Spirit is going to reap a spiritual harvest. If his sowing has been generous, the harvest will be bountiful, if not in this life, certainly in the life to come. Conversely, those who “sow” to the flesh are going to reap a life without the full blessings of God, both in this life and the life to come (Jeremiah 18:10; 2 Peter 2:10–12).
The reason some things happen can often be traced back to original sin in the Garden of Eden. The Bible is clear that the world is under a curse (Genesis 3:17), which has resulted in infirmities, diseases, natural disasters, and death. All these things, although under God’s ultimate control, are sometimes used by Satan to inflict misery upon people (see Job 1–2; Luke 9:37–42; 13:16). Someone may ask, “Why did I contract this illness? Is there a reason for it?” and the answer may be one or more of the following: 1) “Because you live in a fallen world, and we are all subject to illness”; 2) “Because God is testing you and strengthening your faith”; or 3) “Because, in love, God is disciplining you according to Hebrews 12:7–13 and 1 Corinthians 11:29–30.”
Then we have what is called the providence of God. The doctrine of providence holds that God quietly and invisibly works through the natural world to manage events. God, in His providence, works out His purposes through natural processes in the physical and social universe. Every effect can be traced back to a natural cause, and there is no hint of the miraculous. The best that man can do to explain the reason why things happen in the course of natural events is to point to “coincidence.”
Believers proclaim that God arranges the coincidences. The unbeliever derides such ideas because he believes natural causes can fully explain each event without reference to God. Yet followers of Christ are wholly assured of this profound truth: “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
The book of Esther shows divine providence at work. The banishment of Vashti, the selection of Esther, the plot of the assassins, the pride of Haman, the courage of Mordecai, the insomnia of the king, the bloodlust of Zeresh, and the reading of the scroll—everything in the book happens, like cogs in a well-oiled machine, to bring about the deliverance of God’s people. Although God is never mentioned in Esther, His providence, working through “coincidence,” is plain to see.
God is always at work in the lives of His people, and in His goodness will bring them to a good end (see Philippians 1:6). The events that define our lives are not simply products of natural causes or random chance. They are ordained by God and are intended for our good. We often fail to sense God’s hidden guidance or protection as events in our lives unfold. But, when we look back at past events, we are able to see His hand more clearly, even in times of tragedy.

Daar was ‘n rede vir die blindheid van die man in Johannes 9, alhoewel die dissipels die rede verkeerd geïdentifiseer het (Johannes 9:1–3). Daar was ‘n rede vir Josef se mishandeling, alhoewel sy broers se doel met wat hulle aan hom gedoen het, baie verskil het van God se doel om dit toe te laat (Genesis 50:20). Daar was ‘n rede vir Jesus se dood—die owerhede in Jerusalem het hul redes gehad, gebaseer op bose bedoelings, en God het Syne gehad, gebaseer op geregtigheid. God se soewereiniteit strek selfs tot die nederigste wesens: “Nie een [mossie] val op die grond sonder die wil van julle Vader nie” (Matteus 10:29).
Verskeie faktore help ons om te weet dat alles met ‘n rede gebeur: die wet van oorsaak en gevolg, die leerstelling van die oorspronklike sonde, en die voorsienigheid van God. Al hierdie dinge demonstreer dat alles wel met ‘n rede gebeur, nie net deur toeval of deur lukrake geluk nie.
Eerstens is daar die natuurwet van oorsaak en gevolg, ook bekend as die wet van saai en maai. Paulus sê: “Moenie mislei word nie: God kan nie bespot word nie. Wat ‘n mens saai, maai hy. Wie saai om sy sondige natuur te behaag, sal uit die natuur verderf maai; wie saai om die Gees te behaag, sal uit die Gees die ewige lewe maai” (Galasiërs 6:7–8). Dit beteken dat in elke aksie wat ons neem of woord wat ons uiter, of dit goed of kwaad is, daar sekere onvermydelike gevolge is wat volg (Kolossense 3:23–25). Iemand mag vra: “Waarom is ek in die tronk? Is daar ‘n rede hiervoor?” en die antwoord mag wees: “Omdat jy jou naaste se huis beroof het en gevang is.” Dis oorsaak en gevolg.
Alles wat ons doen, is óf ‘n belegging in die vlees óf ‘n belegging in die Gees. Ons sal maai wat ons gesaai het, en ons sal maai in verhouding tot hoe ons gesaai het. “Onthou dít: wie spaarsamig saai, sal ook spaarsamig maai; en wie volop saai, sal ook volop maai” (2 Korintiërs 9:6). Die gelowige wat in die Gees wandel en in die Gees “saai”, gaan ‘n geestelike oes insamel. As sy saai vrygewig was, sal die oes oorvloedig wees, indien nie in hierdie lewe nie, dan beslis in die lewe wat kom. Omgekeerd gaan diegene wat in die vlees “saai” ‘n lewe insamel sonder die volle seëninge van God, beide in hierdie lewe en die lewe wat kom (Jeremia 18:10; 2 Petrus 2:10–12).
Die rede waarom sommige dinge gebeur, kan dikwels teruggevoer word na die oorspronklike sonde in die Tuin van Eden. Die Bybel is duidelik dat die wêreld onder ‘n vloek is (Genesis 3:17), wat gelei het tot swakhede, siektes, natuurrampe en die dood. Al hierdie dinge, hoewel onder God se uiteindelike beheer, word soms deur Satan gebruik om ellende oor mense te bring (sien Job 1–2; Lukas 9:37–42; 13:16). Iemand mag vra: “Waarom het ek hierdie siekte opgedoen? Is daar ‘n rede daarvoor?” en die antwoord mag een of meer van die volgende wees: 1) “Omdat julle in ‘n gevalle wêreld leef, en ons almal aan siekte onderhewig is”; 2) “Omdat God julle toets en julle geloof versterk”; of 3) “Omdat God julle in liefde dissiplineer volgens Hebreërs 12:7–13 en 1 Korintiërs 11:29–30.”
Dan het ons wat die voorsienigheid van God genoem word. Die leerstelling van voorsienigheid hou vol dat God stilweg en onsigbaar deur die natuurlike wêreld werk om gebeure te bestuur. God, in Sy voorsienigheid, werk Sy doeleindes uit deur natuurlike prosesse in die fisiese en sosiale heelal. Elke effek kan teruggevoer word na ‘n natuurlike oorsaak, en daar is geen sweempie van die wonderbaarlike nie. Die beste wat die mens kan doen om die rede te verduidelik waarom dinge in die loop van natuurlike gebeurtenisse gebeur, is om na “toeval” te wys.
Gelowiges verkondig dat God die toevallighede reël. Die ongelowige bespot sulke idees omdat hy glo dat natuurlike oorsake elke gebeurtenis volledig kan verklaar sonder verwysing na God. Tog is volgelinge van Christus ten volle verseker van hierdie diepgaande waarheid: “Ons weet dat God in alles ten goede meewerk vir die wat Hom liefhet, die wat volgens sy besluit geroep is” (Romeine 8:28).
Die boek Ester toon goddelike voorsienigheid aan die werk. Die verbanning van Vasti, die keuse van Ester, die komplot van die sluipmoordenaars, die trots van Haman, die moed van Mordegai, die slapeloosheid van die koning, die bloeddorstigheid van Seres en die lees van die boekrol – alles in die boek gebeur, soos ratte in ‘n goed geoliede masjien, om die verlossing van God se volk te bewerkstellig. Alhoewel God nooit in Ester genoem word nie, is Sy voorsienigheid, wat deur “toeval” werk, duidelik om te sien.
God is altyd aan die werk in die lewens van Sy mense, en in Sy goedheid sal Hy hulle tot ‘n goeie einde bring (sien Filippense 1:6). Die gebeure wat ons lewens definieer, is nie bloot produkte van natuurlike oorsake of toeval nie. Hulle is deur God verorden en is bedoel vir ons beswil. Ons slaag dikwels nie daarin om God se verborge leiding of beskerming aan te voel soos gebeure in ons lewens ontvou nie. Maar wanneer ons terugkyk na gebeure in die verlede, kan ons Sy hand duideliker sien, selfs in tye van tragedie.

When a Christian utters the phrase all things work together for good, he or she is referring to a portion of one of the most quoted, claimed verses in the New Testament, Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Or, as the KJV translates it, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
God works all things together for good—both His good and our good. As God is glorified, His people benefit.
In Romans 8, Paul contrasts a life lived in selfish pursuits (the flesh) and one lived in league with, or in accordance with, God (the Spirit). He impresses upon readers that our sovereign God is all-knowing, all-wise, and all-powerful.
Those who love God can trust His goodness, His power, and His will to work out all things for our good. We journey together with Him.
The promise that God works all things together for good does not mean that all things, taken by themselves, are good. Some things and events are decidedly bad. But God is able to work them together for good. He sees the big picture; He has a master plan.
Neither does the promise that God works all things together for good mean we will acquire all that we want or desire. Romans 8:28 is about God’s goodness and our confidence that His plan will work out as He sees fit. Since His plan is always good, Christians can take confidence that, no matter our circumstances or environments, God is active and will conclude things according to His good and wise design. With this knowledge we can learn to be content (see Philippians 4:11).
The fact that God works all things together for good means God’s plan will not be thwarted. In fact, we are part of His plan, having been “called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). When we trust God and His way, we can be sure that He is active and powerful on our behalf (see Ephesians 3:20).
God knows the future, and His desires will be accomplished. “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please’” (Isaiah 46:10). Even when things seem chaotic and out of control, God is still in charge. We sometimes worry about what’s happening to us because we do not know what is best for us. But God does.
The principle of God working all things together for good is well illustrated in the Old Testament account of Joseph’s life. Early in Joseph’s life, Joseph’s jealous brothers sold him into slavery. In Egypt, Joseph rises to a position of responsibility. Then, he is unjustly imprisoned and forgotten about by his friends. God gifts him the ability to interpret dreams, and through that ability Joseph is once again raised to a place of honor and power. When drought forces Joseph’s brothers to seek food elsewhere, they travel to Egypt and encounter Joseph, who eventually saves them from starvation and grants them a livelihood in his new land.
Throughout his life, Joseph trusted God no matter his good or bad circumstances. Joseph experienced plenty of bad things: kidnapping, slavery, false accusations, wrongful imprisonment, rejection, and famine. But in the end God brought things to a wonderful, life-affirming conclusion. God blessed Joseph’s entire family through those painful circumstances and through Joseph’s faith. Paul’s life is another testament to how God works all things together for good. Paul suffered shipwrecks, beatings, imprisonment, murder attempts, temporary blindness, and more—all within God’s plan to spread the gospel (see Acts 9:16 and 2 Corinthians 11:24–27). Through it all, God was steadfastly working to bring about good and glorious results.
After promising that God works all things together for our good, Romans 8 concludes with the wonderful fact that God trumps everything that comes against Him and those who belong to Him. The Christian is assured that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? . . . No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:35–39). God’s love is everlasting, and His wisdom is infinite. It doesn’t matter who or what attempts to thwart God’s plan; no one and nothing can. God will work all things together for the good of those who love Him. Our decision to align our will with God’s and to always trust Him will be rewarded.

Diegene wat God liefhet, kan Sy goedheid, Sy krag en Sy wil vertrou om alle dinge ten goede te laat meewerk. Ons reis saam met Hom.
Die belofte dat God alles ten goede laat meewerk, beteken nie dat alles, op sigself geneem, goed is nie. Sommige dinge en gebeurtenisse is beslis sleg. Maar God is in staat om dit ten goede te laat meewerk. Hy sien die groter prentjie; Hy het ‘n meesterplan.
Die belofte dat God alles ten goede laat meewerk, beteken ook nie dat ons alles sal verkry wat ons wil hê of begeer nie. Romeine 8:28 gaan oor God se goedheid en ons vertroue dat Sy plan sal uitwerk soos Hy goeddink. Aangesien Sy plan altyd goed is, kan Christene vertroue hê dat God, ongeag ons omstandighede of omgewing, aktief is en dinge volgens Sy goeie en wyse ontwerp sal afhandel. Die beginsel dat God alles ten goede laat meewerk, word goed geïllustreer in die Ou Testamentiese verslag van Josef se lewe. Vroeg in Josef se lewe het Josef se jaloerse broers hom in slawerny verkoop. In Egipte styg Josef tot ‘n posisie van verantwoordelikheid. Dan word hy onregverdig gevange geneem en deur sy vriende vergeet. God gee hom die vermoë om drome te interpreteer, en deur daardie vermoë word Josef weer eens tot ‘n plek van eer en mag verhef. Wanneer droogte Josef se broers dwing om elders kos te soek, reis hulle na Egipte en ontmoet Josef, wat hulle uiteindelik van hongersnood red en hulle ‘n lewensonderhoud in sy nuwe land gee.
Deur sy lewe heen het Josef God vertrou, ongeag sy goeie of slegte omstandighede. Josef het baie slegte dinge ervaar: ontvoering, slawerny, valse beskuldigings, onregmatige gevangenisstraf, verwerping en hongersnood. Maar uiteindelik het God dinge tot ‘n wonderlike, lewensbevestigende gevolg gebring. God het Josef se hele gesin geseën deur daardie pynlike omstandighede en deur Josef se geloof. Paulus se lewe is nog ‘n bewys van hoe God alles ten goede laat meewerk. Paulus het skipbreuk gely, aanrandings, gevangenisstraf, moordpogings, tydelike blindheid en meer – alles binne God se plan om die evangelie te versprei (sien Handelinge 9:16 en 2 Korintiërs 11:24–27). Deur dit alles het God standvastig gewerk om goeie en glorieryke resultate te bewerkstellig.
Nadat Romeine 8 belowe het dat God alles ten goede laat meewerk, sluit dit af met die wonderlike feit dat God alles troef wat teen Hom en diegene wat aan Hom behoort. Die Christen word verseker dat niks ons ooit van God se liefde kan skei nie: “Wie sal ons skei van die liefde van Christus? Verdrukking of benoudheid of vervolging of honger of naaktheid of gevaar of swaard? … Nee, in al hierdie dinge is ons meer as oorwinnaars deur Hom wat ons liefgehad het. Want ek is versekerd dat geen dood of lewe of engele of demone of die hede of die toekoms of enige magte of hoogte of diepte of enigiets anders in die skepping ons sal kan skei van die liefde van God wat daar in Christus Jesus, onse Here, is nie” (Romeine 8:35–39). God se liefde is ewig, en Sy wysheid is oneindig. Dit maak nie saak wie of wat probeer om God se plan te dwarsboom nie; niemand en niks kan nie. God sal alles ten goede laat meewerk vir diegene wat Hom liefhet. Ons besluit om ons wil met God s’n in lyn te bring en Hom altyd te vertrou, sal beloon word.
Today’s Devotional
Proverbs 16:3 states, “Commit your work to the LORD, / and your plans will be established” (ESV). This wonderful verse speaks of our responsibility to serve God and the result of discharging our duty faithfully.
The first verb, commit, is a word that, in Hebrew, literally means “to roll.” Other passages such as Genesis 29:3 and Psalm 22:8–9 likewise use the idea of “rolling” something to the Lord. The idea is that we completely give something over to God in dependence upon Him. When we “commit” our work to the Lord, we offer everything we do completely to Him.
The Hebrew syntax also reveals the idea that we commit our work to the Lord in order that our plans will be established. We must do the first part if we expect God to fulfill the second part.
If we completely depend upon God in our work, He will “establish” our plans. That is, He will “bring about” or “cause to happen” our plans. We can expect God to bring our work to fruition in God’s way and in God’s time when we depend on Him in our efforts. Part of committing our work to God, of course, is seeking and following God’s will; when our work aligns with God’s will, then success will follow.
Proverbs, as a literary form, communicate general life principles and not exact promises. In other words, we can generally expect God to bless our work when we operate according to His ways in dependence upon Him. However, this does not mean we will never lose a job or have trouble in our work. Instead, we can expect God to fulfill His promise of Romans 8:28, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
This proverb is similar in context to Psalm 1:1–3:
“Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.”
When we commit our ways and our work to the Lord, He will bless our efforts according to His perfect will in ways beyond our understanding. We should serve the Lord faithfully and then leave the results to Him. Though we will still face times of difficulty, we can trust that God is working for His ultimate good—and ours—through our efforts to please Him in our daily vocation.

Spreuke 16:3 sê: “Laat jou werk aan die HERE oor, / en jou planne sal uitgevoer word” (ESV). Hierdie wonderlike vers spreek van ons verantwoordelikheid om God te dien en die resultaat van die getroue uitvoering van ons plig.
Die eerste werkwoord, “toegee”, is ‘n woord wat in Hebreeus letterlik “om te rol” beteken. Ander gedeeltes soos Genesis 29:3 en Psalm 22:8–9 gebruik eweneens die idee om iets aan die Here te “rol”. Die idee is dat ons iets heeltemal aan God oorgee in afhanklikheid van Hom. Wanneer ons ons werk aan die Here “toegee”, bied ons alles wat ons doen volledig aan Hom aan.
Die Hebreeuse sintaksis openbaar ook die idee dat ons ons werk aan die Here toewy sodat ons planne uitgevoer sal word. Ons moet die eerste deel doen as ons verwag dat God die tweede deel sal vervul.
As ons heeltemal op God staatmaak in ons werk, sal Hy ons planne “uitvoer”. Dit wil sê, Hy sal ons planne “bewerkstellig” of “veroorsaak”. Ons kan verwag dat God ons werk op God se manier en op God se tyd sal verwesenlik wanneer ons op Hom staatmaak in ons pogings. Deel van die toevertrou van ons werk aan God is natuurlik om God se wil te soek en te volg; wanneer ons werk in lyn is met God se wil, dan sal sukses volg.
Spreuke, as ‘n literêre vorm, kommunikeer algemene lewensbeginsels en nie presiese beloftes nie. Met ander woorde, ons kan oor die algemeen verwag dat God ons werk sal seën wanneer ons volgens Sy weë in afhanklikheid van Hom opereer. Dit beteken egter nie dat ons nooit ‘n werk sal verloor of probleme in ons werk sal hê nie. In plaas daarvan kan ons verwag dat God Sy belofte van Romeine 8:28 sal vervul: “Ons weet dat God in alles ten goede meewerk vir die wat Hom liefhet, dié wat volgens sy voorneme geroep is.”
Hierdie spreuk is soortgelyk in konteks aan Psalm 1:1–3:
“Geseënd is die een
wat nie saam met die goddelose wandel nie
of staan op die pad van sondaars nie
of sit in die geselskap van spotters nie,
maar wie se vreugde is in die wet van die Here,
en wat sy wet dag en nag oordink.
Soos ’n boom wat by waterstrome geplant is,
wat sy vrugte op die regte tyd dra
en waarvan die blare nie verwelk nie – alles wat hulle doen, is voorspoedig.”

Renewal of the Spirit also includes comfort, counsel, and help.
A specific title that Jesus used for the Holy Spirit was “Advocate,” which refers to a legal advisor or representative who offers help, intercession, and comfort: “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who will guide you into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it does not seek him or recognize him. But you know him, because he is with you now and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans—I am coming to you” (John 14:16–18). The Holy Spirit is always with us, offering comfort and peace in times of trouble and guiding us through life’s challenges.
The renewal of the Holy Spirit is a tremendous gift of God’s mercy and grace, bringing spiritual rebirth, sanctification, empowerment, conviction, and comfort. May we, as believers, submit to the work of the Holy Spirit, which has profound meaning in our Christian walk.
May we embrace this journey of continuous growth and transformation, which brings us closer to God and more like His Son daily.

The Road To Ezekiel 38: Turkey’s Dangerous Path Against Israel
In the swirl of Middle Eastern crises, the world has focused almost exclusively on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Hezbollah’s rockets, or Hamas’s terror tunnels. Yet a far greater danger to Israel is quietly taking shape, one that could redefine the balance of power in the entire region. That danger is Turkey—once a partner of Israel, now transformed into a bitter enemy under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
This shift is not a passing flare of anger over Gaza. It is part of a deliberate and sweeping strategy: Erdoğan’s quest to crown himself as the leader of the Muslim world and to restore the prestige of the Ottoman Empire. For Israel, this may prove the most dangerous challenge of all.
From Ally to Adversary
Not long ago, Israel and Turkey shared intelligence, military cooperation, and robust trade. They were bound together by pragmatism in a volatile neighborhood. But Erdoğan has methodically unraveled this partnership. In recent months, he has cut off economic ties, blocked Israeli planes and ships, and issued an unending stream of fiery rhetoric accusing Israel of crimes against humanity.
This is more than policy—it is ideology. Erdoğan has chosen to turn his back on Israel not for short-term gain but for long-term legacy. He is laying down the foundation for a new Middle Eastern order where Turkey sits at the head of the table, and Israel is cast as the enemy to unite the Muslim world.
The Neo-Ottoman Dream
At the heart of Erdoğan’s vision is neo-Ottomanism: the dream of reviving Turkey’s influence from the Balkans to the Middle East, from North Africa to Central Asia. For him, Gaza is not just a humanitarian cause—it is the stage on which he can proclaim himself the new champion of Islam.
He speaks not merely of supporting Palestinians but of building an “Army of Islam” capable of marching on Jerusalem. Such language, once dismissed as bluster, now takes on chilling weight when viewed alongside Turkey’s rapid military modernization and its growing web of influence stretching into Syria, Libya, Qatar, and beyond.
By turning Gaza into the rallying cry, Erdoğan seeks to do what no other Muslim leader has accomplished in decades: unite fractured Islamic states under one banner. That banner is pointed squarely against Israel.
Power Play in Syria
Perhaps the most dangerous element of Erdoğan’s strategy lies to Israel’s north. Turkey has entrenched itself in Syria, creating zones of influence just across Israel’s border. This puts Turkish forces—and the Islamist militias it backs—perilously close to Israel’s northern frontier.
For Israel, the nightmare scenario is clear: a multi-front war not only with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iranian proxies in Syria, but with Turkey itself—an established state with advanced weaponry, a massive army, and global alliances.
Military Might on the Rise
Unlike Hamas or Hezbollah, Turkey is no ragtag militant faction. It possesses the second-largest army in NATO, with over 450,000 active troops, state-of-the-art drones that have already reshaped battlefields from Nagorno-Karabakh to Ukraine, and a growing missile program. Its navy and air force rank among the strongest in the region, and its defense industry is expanding rapidly.
This combination of military power, strategic geography, and ideological fervor makes Turkey a unique threat. Iran may be Israel’s most immediate adversary, but Turkey’s long-term potential is greater: a modern state, a powerful army, and a leader bent on empire.
More Dangerous Than Iran?
For years, Israeli leaders and analysts have worried about Tehran’s nuclear clock. But what if the greater danger is Ankara’s ambition clock? Iran represents a sectarian Shi‘ite power; Turkey represents the possibility of a pan-Sunni revival.
Where Iran builds power through fear, Turkey builds it through influence—through trade, cultural ties, religious rhetoric, and the promise of Islamic unity. In many ways, this is the more potent formula. A leader who can unite diverse Muslim nations under the banner of Jerusalem’s “liberation” poses a threat that reaches far beyond rockets and centrifuges.
The Prophetic Dimension
For those who read history with the Bible in hand, the rise of Turkey as Israel’s adversary should not come as a surprise. Ezekiel 38 describes a vast northern coalition led by “Gog of the land of Magog” that will one day march against Israel. Among the nations listed are Meshech and Tubal—regions that many scholars trace back to modern-day Turkey.
This prophecy outlines not just a sudden attack, but a deliberate alignment of nations under a leader who seeks to destroy Israel in the latter days.
Signs of the Times
Global Red Flag – Several Supervolcanoes Waking Simultaneously?
A major eruption of just one of the Earth’s supervolcanoes would have the potential to produce a long-term “volcanic winter” and a horrifying global famine in which hundreds of millions of people would die. So should we be alarmed that several of those supervolcanoes appear to be waking up simultaneously?
In recent months, I have written a number of articles about the unusual seismic activity that we have been witnessing all over the world. There are many in the scientific community that are deeply concerned that all of this seismic activity may be building up to some sort of a crescendo, but so far most people in the general population are not paying attention to the warnings.
Scientists tell us that there are 20 supervolcanoes on our planet, and one of the largest is right here in the United States.
A full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano could literally bury almost the entire nation in volcanic ash and absolutely destroy U.S. food production.
Now scientists are telling us that magma underneath Yellowstone has been “drifting northeast”, and that is not a good sign at all. The following comes from a news article that was posted on MSN entitled “Is Yellowstone’s Supervolcano Waking Up? Geologists Think There Are Signs of Movement”…
Seismologist Ninfa Bennington and the rest of her team suggest that the vast underground magma chambers, long responsible for the caldera’s explosive history, now appear to be drifting northeast. This means that the next major volcanic eruption could happen in that direction.
The magma that exists under Yellowstone is very dense, and when enough pressure builds up “it can result in highly violent eruptions”…
Rhyolite is a dense type of magma, rich in silica, that doesn’t flow easily, but when pressure builds, it can result in highly violent eruptions. The researchers also estimate that beneath northeastern Yellowstone, the crust may hold as much as 105 cubic miles of molten rock. That’s almost the same amount of magma that erupted 1.3 million years ago during the massive Mesa Falls event, as reported by Newsweek. The study found at least seven zones under Yellowstone that hold massive amounts of magma, with some of them linked together and sharing the same supply.
Let us hope that we do not see a large scale eruption of Yellowstone any time soon, because it could mean the end of our society as we know it today.
Meanwhile, we are being warned that a supervolcano that is located in northern Nevada appears to be “awakening”…
A pair of earthquakes have struck northern Nevada, adding to the dozens of tremors reported near an ancient supervolcano feared to be awakening.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) revealed that a 3.7 and 3.2-magnitude earthquake were recorded Tuesday morning just after 9:30am ET.
The McDermitt supervolcano is not as well known as the Yellowstone supervolcano, but it is still extremely dangerous.
And the fact that we have seen “multiple seismic swarms” in the vicinity of the McDermitt supervolcano lately is raising a lot of eyebrows…
The early morning earthquakes also took place just days after multiple seismic swarms struck the area, including 38 quakes recorded around Valmy in the last week alone.
Between Saturday and Monday, 28 earthquakes struck the northern Nevada area, including a 4.8-magnitude quake during Saturday afternoon’s swarm.
On the other side of the world, the Campi Flegrei supervolcano in southern Italy has been shaking like crazy this year…
If you live around Naples, you know the ground breathes. Streets crack, the harbor silts up, steam curls from the earth, and swarms of small quakes rattle windows. All that action comes from Campi Flegrei, a wide “supervolcano” caldera that last erupted in 1538.
Naples is such a beautiful city.
But the people that are living there are sitting on top of a powder keg.
When it finally blows, the death toll will be catastrophic.
Geophysicist Stefan Burns recently posted a video that shows that the number of earthquakes at the Campi Flegrei supervolcano is way, way above normal in 2025…
If there is a large scale eruption at any of the supervolcanoes that I have discussed in this article, we could be facing a “volcanic winter” that lasts for an extended period of time.
In such a scenario, a significant portion of the global population would starve.
So I have no idea why the seismic activity that we are witnessing at these supervolcanoes is not receiving more attention.
On top of everything else, we are being told that the New Madrid Seismic Zone “is overdue for a major seismic event”…
