For the Christian, praying is supposed to be like breathing, easier to do than to not do. We pray for a variety of reasons. For one thing, prayer is a form of serving God (Luke 2:36-38) and obeying Him. We pray because God commands us to pray (Philippians 4:6-7). Prayer is exemplified for us by Christ and the early church (Mark 1:35; Acts 1:14; 2:42; 3:1; 4:23-31; 6:4; 13:1-3). If Jesus thought it was worthwhile to pray, we should also.

Another reason to pray is that God intends prayer to be the means of obtaining His solutions in a number of situations. We pray in preparation for major decisions (Luke 6:12-13); to overcome demonic barriers (Matthew 17:14-21); to gather workers for the spiritual harvest (Luke 10:2); to gain strength to overcome temptation (Matthew 26:41); and to obtain the means of strengthening others spiritually (Ephesians 6:18-19).

We come to God with our specific requests, and we have God’s promise that our prayers are not in vain, even if we do not receive specifically what we asked for (Matthew 6:6; Romans 8:26-27). He has promised that when we ask for things that are in accordance with His will, He will give us what we ask for (1 John 5:14-15). Sometimes He delays His answers according to His wisdom and for our benefit. In these situations, we are to be diligent and persistent in prayer (Matthew 7:7; Luke 18:1-8). Prayer should not be seen as our means of getting God to do our will on earth, but rather as a means of getting God’s will done on earth. God’s wisdom far exceeds our own.

For situations in which we do not know God’s will specifically, prayer is a means of discerning His will (see James 1:5). Prayer was instrumental in the Spirit’s sending of Paul and Barnabas on the first missionary journey (Acts 13:1–3). Solomon asked for “wisdom and knowledge,” and God gave him that and much more (2 Chronicles 1:10–12).

Prayers un-prayed will be prayers unanswered. If the Syrian woman with the demon-influenced daughter had not prayed to Christ, her daughter would not have been made whole (Mark 7:26–30). If the blind man outside Jericho had not called out to Christ, he would have remained blind (Luke 18:35–43). God has said that we often go without because we do not ask (James 4:2). In one sense, prayer is like sharing the gospel with people. We do not know who will respond to the message of the gospel until we share it. In the same way, we will never see the results of answered prayer unless we pray.

A lack of prayer demonstrates a lack of faith and a lack of trust in God’s Word. We pray to demonstrate our faith in God, that He will do as He has promised in His Word and bless our lives abundantly more than we could ask or hope for (Ephesians 3:20). Prayer is our primary means of seeing God work in others’ lives. Because it is our means of “plugging into” God’s power, it is our means of defeating Satan and his army that we are powerless to overcome by ourselves. Therefore, may God find us often before His throne, for we have a high priest in heaven who can identify with all that we go through (Hebrews 4:15-16). We have His promise that the fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much (James 5:16-18). May God glorify His name in our lives as we believe in Him enough to come to Him often in prayer.

Bible Verse and Prayer for Today

One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
—Romans 14:5

So often, we let personal preferences, peer pressure, and peer concerns about celebrating certain days, especially holidays, have a divisive effect on our Christian relationships. We’re not to try to press our opinion or position on anyone else. We’re not to judge others because they don’t celebrate a special day to the Lord we celebrated. We’re not to judge another because she does celebrate special days. Celebrating certain days as holy is a matter of personal conviction that revolves around our desire to please the Lord and to honor him in ways we feel are appropriate. Let’s not be so insecure that we have to do what everyone else does. Likewise, let’s not force anyone to do what we prefer. Instead, let’s remember the right angle to take with everything: honor God with all that we are and do and consider the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ even before our own (Matthew 22:37-40; Ephesians 4:29).

Prayer

O Father, please forgive us for fracturing the fellowship of your people based on human observances and special holy days as we hold our preferences about them. As for me, dear Father, please give me the courage to honor Christ according to my convictions and his commands. Please also give me the wisdom to do so in ways that bless your people and do not cause division. With the help of your Spirit, I will find ways to bring you the glory due you and maintain my fellowship with your children. Please purify my heart, and guide me in all that I do and approve. In Jesus’ name, I ask for your help. Amen and Amen

Bybel Vers en Gebed vir Vandag

Een man beskou een dag as heiliger as ‘n ander; ‘n ander man beskou elke dag as gelyk. Elkeen moet ten volle oortuig wees in sy eie gedagtes.
—Romeine 14:5

In Jesus se Naam vra ek vir u hulp. Amen en Amen.

Bible Teaching of the Day

God hears everything, including prayers. He is God. Nothing gets by Him (Psalm 139:1–4). He is sovereign over everything He created (Isaiah 46:9–11). So the question is not whether God is aware of every prayer (He is), but how God intends to answer them.

God wants us to pray. He has created prayer as a means by which we can enjoy Him (Revelation 3:20), confess our sin (1 John 1:9), ask Him to meet our needs (Psalm 50:15), and align our wills with His (Jeremiah 29:11–12; Luke 22:42). One kind of prayer is guaranteed to be granted. Luke 18:13–14 describes the prayer of repentance. When we call upon the Lord in humble repentance, He is eager to justify and forgive us.

However, when considering prayer, it is important to remember that most promises of God in Scripture were written to His people. In the Old Testament, those promises were for Israel and all who united with them. In the New Testament, those promises were written to the followers of Jesus. It is a misuse of Scripture to pull out isolated verses and try to apply them to any situation we want, including prayer. Even though the Lord knows and hears all, He has given some circumstances in which He will not listen to our prayers:

  1. When we are choosing to hold on to sin, rather than repent and change, God will not hear our prayers. In Isaiah 1:15, the Lord says, “When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood!” Proverbs 28:9 says, “If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable.”
Example: A couple is living together in sexual sin, yet they pray for God’s blessing on their home.
  2. When we ask according to our own selfish desires, God will not hear our prayers. James 4:3 says, “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”
Example: A man is dissatisfied with his three-year-old Toyota, so he prays for a brand-new Mercedes.
  3. When what we ask is not in accordance with His will for us. First John 5:14 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
Example: We pray fervently for a new job, but God’s plan requires that we stay where we are and be a witness to our coworkers.
  4. When we do not ask in faith. In Mark 11:24 Jesus said, “I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” However, faith is not believing for something; it is believing in Someone. Our faith is in the character of God and His desire to bless and comfort us. When we pray, we should have faith that He hears us and will grant every request that is in line with His will for us (1 John 5:14–15).
Example: We ask God to supply a financial need but continue to worry and make faithless comments to our families and coworkers, such as “I’m probably going to go to the poorhouse. I’ll never get that money.”

God is holy and desires us to be holy as He is (Leviticus 22:32; 1 Peter 1:16). When He knows that we are seeking that holiness as well, He is delighted to answer our prayers in ways that continue our spiritual growth. Jesus said, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” (John 15:7). The secret to prayer is abiding in Christ so that whatever we ask is in accordance with His heart (Psalm 37:4).

Bybel Lering vir die Dag

God hoor alles, insluitend gebede. Hy is God.

Julle hande is vol bloed!”

Today’s Devotional

God has promised that, when we ask for things that are in accordance with His will for our lives, He will give us what we ask for (1 John 5:14–15). However, there is one caveat to add to this: we may not always like the answer.

We pray for a lot of things—some good, some bad, some really pointless. But God listens to all of our prayers, regardless of what we ask (Matthew 7:7). He does not ignore His children (Luke 18:1–8). When we talk to Him, He has promised to listen and respond (Matthew 6:6; Romans 8:26–27). His answer may be some variation of “yes” or “no” or “wait, not now.”

Keep in mind that prayer is not our way of getting God to do what we want. Our prayers should be focused on things that honor and glorify God and reflect what the Bible clearly reveals God’s will to be (Luke 11:2). If we pray for something that dishonors God or is not His will for us, He is unlikely to give what we ask for. God’s wisdom far exceeds our own, and we must trust that His answers to our prayers are the best possible solutions.

Does God answer prayers? – When God says “yes.”

In the first two chapters of 1 Samuel, Hannah prays and asks God to give her a baby. She had been unable to conceive which, in biblical times, was considered a mark of shame for a woman. Hannah prayed fervently—so fervently that a priest who saw her praying thought she was drunk. But God heard Hannah, and He allowed her to give birth to a child.

Jesus said, “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13). If you have prayed specifically for something and God has granted it to you, then you can be assured that it is His will. Nothing happens without God allowing it to happen (Romans 8:28).

Does God answer prayers? – When God says “no.”

In John 11, Mary and Martha wanted Jesus to heal their dying brother, yet Jesus allowed Lazarus to die. Why did He say “no” to these grieving women who loved Him so much? Because He had greater things planned for Lazarus, things that no one could possibly have imagined.

“No” is one of the hardest answers we can receive. But, once again, it is important to remember that God is all-knowing and is aware of the entire timeline of history. He knows every possible outcome of every possible choice in every possible situation; we do not. He sees the “big picture”; we see a partial brushstroke. Proverbs 3:5 says to “trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” When we get a “no” answer, we must trust that whatever we asked for was not God’s will.

Does God answer prayers? – When God says “wait, not now.”

Sometimes hearing “wait” is even harder than hearing “no” because it means we have to be patient (Romans 8:25). While waiting is difficult, we can be thankful God is in control and trust that His timing will be perfect (Romans 12:12; Psalm 37:7—9).

God wants the best for your life. He does not want you to suffer needlessly. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Be patient and know that He is your loving Father (Psalm 46:10).

Abide by Philippians 4:6 as you make your requests to God: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Then, when God responds, be prepared to accept His wisdom—whether or not you agree with His answer.

TruLight TV –  MOVIE TIME – THE BIBLE COLLECTION: THOMAS

Although he has gone down in history as ‘Doubting Thomas’,this innovative new film from the producers of Time Life’s The Bible series gives a new dimension to the man who was also known as ‘The Twin’ and was a great believer and disciple of Jesus. This fascinating version of Thomas’ life sees the impact of Jesus Christ through a fresh pair of eyes and particularly the dramatic events that unfold before and after the death of Jesus. A highly-charged dramatic film, it brings to life the fear of the Apostles, their conflicts and struggles under the yoke of Roman occupation and life after the passing of their Messiah.

GOG AND MAGOG UPDATE

Magog / Iran introduces stealthy high-speed kamikaze drones

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has introduced the Hadid-110—also referred to in Iranian reporting as “Dalahu”—a jet-powered “suicide” drone built to arrive faster and be harder to spot than the propeller-driven loitering munitions Tehran and its proxies have leaned on for years.

Iranian-linked reporting frames it as a stealth-oriented platform designed to shrink radar detection range and slash defenders’ reaction time.

The key shift here is speed. The Hadid-110 can reach roughly 517 km/h, and defense analysis sites peg it in the 510–517 km/h band—far faster than the Shahed-136’s typical cruise speed—meaning less warning, fewer engagement opportunities, and a tighter timeline for decision-making.

That matters because many drone-defense systems are optimized around slower, noisier threats.

A quicker, lower-observable airframe forces defenders to detect earlier, track cleaner, and intercept faster—especially if the attacker is trying to slip through gaps in radar coverage.

Iranian reporting also highlights launch flexibility. The Tehran Times describes a rocket-assisted launch concept that reduces reliance on fixed runways or conspicuous launch infrastructure, improving the IRGC’s ability to fire from dispersed positions.

Separately, Al-Monitor reported earlier that Iran unveiled a Hadid-110 variant described as being launchable from underwater—another signal of how Tehran is experimenting with surprise launch profiles to complicate early warning.

Zoom out and the storyline is familiar: Iran doesn’t just build weapons, it builds ecosystems.

The U.S. National Counterterrorism Center describes the IRGC-Qods Force as a central engine for Tehran’s external operations and support to partners and proxies, including providing weapons and training.

Drone tech is a core part of that playbook, and it’s already been exported or replicated in multiple theaters. Iran’s drone transfers and the Shahed-136’s role in long-range “kamikaze” strike campaigns, including in Russia’s war on Ukraine.

For Israel and the region, the significance isn’t that a single new drone “changes everything.”

It’s that Hadid-110 appears designed for a specific mission set: compressing reaction time and probing the seams of layered air defenses—especially if paired with other threats (slower drones as decoys, rockets, cruise missiles) in coordinated salvos.

Iranian media explicitly describes it as suited to hitting sensitive targets like radars, command nodes, and infrastructure—classic “open a corridor” logic.

Much of what’s being circulated about performance and payload comes from Iranian claims and secondary defense analysis, not independent verification.

Still, even the direction of travel is the headline—Tehran is iterating from mass, slow, attritable drones toward faster systems meant to shorten the defender’s clock.

ISRAEL WILL BE READY 30 DECEMBER 2025 : OR WILL THEY ?

Graceful Gospel Singer Pass Away !

The passing of legendary tenor vocalist Larry Ford.
In addition to a stellar solo career that included appearances on the Gaither Homecoming Concert and Video series, Mr. Ford once served as the tenor vocalist for the legendary Dixie Echoes Quartet.
The Ford Family has shared this Facebook post …
Larry led his family with quiet strength and tender grace. With his grand Irish tenor voice, he lived his faith with humility, carrying the Good News of the Gospel through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs all over the world. He believed that little is much when God is in it, laboring not for wealth or fame, but for the crown promised to those who go in Jesus’ name.
