“Fruits of the Spirit!”

Literally, the “fruit of the Spirit” is what happens when the Holy Spirit indwells a believer. The “fruit” is the product of the Holy Spirit’s cultivation of character in a heart. Galatians 5:22-23 describes what that fruit looks like; the second characteristic listed is joy.
The Greek word for joy is chara. Joy is the natural reaction to the work of God, whether promised or fulfilled. Joy expresses God’s kingdom—His influence on earth (Romans 14:17). The Spirit’s production of joy can manifest in several different ways:
The joy of deliverance: When God sets someone free, rejoicing is in order.
1 Samuel 2:1: Hannah was filled with joy at her deliverance from her enemies.
Acts 12:14: The servant girl was so overjoyed that God had rescued Peter from prison that she forgot to let Peter in the house.
The joy of salvation: Our greatest reason to be joyful is that God wants to save us and spend eternity with us. Nothing is better than this.
Luke 15:7: All heaven is joyful when a person accepts God’s provision of salvation.
Acts 8:8: The people of Samaria were joyful as they heard the gospel and saw God’s power in healing the sick.
Acts 13:52; 15:3: Jewish believers rejoiced when they heard of the work of the Holy Spirit in saving Gentiles.
The joy of spiritual maturity: As the Holy Spirit works in us to bear more fruit, we become confident in God’s promises and rejoice in our walk with Him and with other believers.
John 15:11: The fullness of joy comes to those who continue in the love of Christ and obey Him.
2 Corinthians 1:24; 2:3; 7:4; 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20; 3:9: Paul knew joy as the churches gave evidence of the Holy Spirit working among them.
Philippians 2:2: Groups of believers who unite in demonstrating the mind, love, and purpose of Christ bring joy to others.
Hebrews 10:34; 12:2; James 1:2-4: Believers, following the example of Jesus, endure persecution because of the promise of future joy.
The joy of God’s presence: The Holy Spirit draws us to God, in whose presence we can know true joy. Without the Holy Spirit, no one would seek God.
Psalm 16:11: “You will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Matthew 2:10; Luke 1:14: Mary and the shepherds were joyful because Immanuel had been born.
Matthew 28:8; Luke 24:41: The women who went to Jesus’ tomb and the disciples were overjoyed that He rose from the dead.
The Greek chara is closely related to charis, which means “grace” or “a gift.” Chara is the normal response to charis—we have joy because of God’s grace. The next step in the progression is to allow our joy to become an action as we express it, although sometimes joy can be so great it is inexpressible (1 Peter 1:8).
Possessing joy is a choice. We choose whether to value God’s presence, promises, and work in our lives. When we yield to the Spirit, He opens our eyes to God’s grace around us and fills us with joy (Romans 15:13). Joy is not to be found in a fallen world; it is only fellowship with God that can make our joy complete (1 John 1:4).

Bible Verse and Prayer for Today
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship him in spirit and in truth.
—John 4:24
Genuine worship is a gift. God is spirit. God is holy. So, we cannot fully and authentically approach God in worship without the gift and blessing of his Holy Spirit. As Christians who received his Spirit when we were born of God through our faith and baptism (John 3:3-7, 4:23-24; Titus 3:3-7), we can now speak to him and worship him openly and confidently — our spirit combined with the Holy Spirit in us, worshiping God who is Spirit. The Spirit within us makes us a place where God lives through his Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The Spirit intercedes for us when we approach God in prayer (Romans 8:26-27). We are then filled with God’s Spirit as we worship him (Ephesians 5:18-20). No wonder Jesus commanded:
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship him in spirit and in truth.
That’s with our spirit, combined with the Holy Spirit, and with worshiping God appropriately; then God is praised and pleased.
Prayer
Abba Father, by the gift of your Spirit, I come to you as your child. Thank you so much for giving me your Spirit so that I can approach you with confidence and know you hear the concerns of my heart. Please accept the worship of my heart, of my words, and of my actions in my daily life. May the things I do today bring you glory as I worship you authentically and through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen and Amen

Bible Teaching of the Day
In John 16:20, Jesus makes the following promise to His disciples: “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy” (ESV). This promise comes in the context of Jesus’ imminent death and the subsequent despair that His disciples would experience. When Jesus says that “your sorrow will turn into joy,” He is not speaking about a momentary experience—it’s more than a fleeting bubble of cheer. The joy He promises is full and abiding, a state of blessedness that overcomes troublesome circumstances.
Jesus’ promise that “your sorrow will turn to joy,” acknowledges the suffering that His disciples were going to face. There would be weeping and lamentation when He died. Their deep mourning would be the result of the apparent loss of their Lord and the dashing of their messianic expectations. But Jesus promises that their sorrow will end; God would transpose their minor chords into major. They would be able to sing along with David, “Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).
Jesus illustrates the disciples’ move from sorrow to joy: “A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy” (John 16:21–22). This comparison helps His disciples understand that intensely sorrowful moments can give way to new beginnings and enduring joy.
The promise that “your sorrow will turn into joy” is not just a future hope; it is a present reality. In fact, this promise is realized the moment we accept Christ as Lord and Savior. Believers are regenerated by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3, 5; Titus 3:5), who renews our hearts and minds. In 2 Corinthians 4:17, Paul puts his trials in perspective: “This light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison” (ESV). Believers may experience a “light momentary affliction,” but it is nothing compared to the glory that shall be revealed in us (see Romans 8:18).
Jesus’ assurance that “your sorrow will turn into joy” allows us to live in hope. The inevitability of worldly trials and tribulations is outmatched by the certainty of everlasting hope and joy. Jesus’ promise encourages believers to persevere through challenges, knowing that temporary griefs will give way to permanent joy. We should view earthly struggles through the lens of God’s promises, firmly trusting that God is working all things for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28).
In contrast to fleeting worldly joy that depends on external factors, the joy found in Christ stems from the certainty of His resurrection. In Him, we possess profound and enduring joy, aware that He has triumphantly conquered sin, death, and the devil: “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55). Seeing the resurrected Lord brought the disciples immense joy, a preview of the ultimate joy we will experience in heaven when we meet God directly: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9, NLT). On that day, Jesus’ promise that “your sorrow will turn to joy” will be perfectly fulfilled.
Today’s Devotional
There is no explicit difference between happiness and joy. Both involve the emotions, both are pleasurable feelings, and both are mentioned in Scripture in passages that equate the two.
A dictionary definition of happiness is “a state of well-being; a pleasurable or satisfying experience.” A definition of the word rejoice, related to the word joy, is “to feel great delight; to be glad.” Depending on the translation, the Bible uses the words happy and happiness about 30 times, while joy and rejoice appear over 300 times.
Jeremiah 31:13 says, “I will turn their mourning into gladness; / I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.” Here, in the parallelism of Hebrew poetry, the words gladness and joy are used synonymously. And Proverbs 23:25 says, “Let your father and your mother be glad, / And let her rejoice who gave birth to you.” Being glad is the same thing as rejoicing in this verse. Unless we are willing to say that gladness and happiness are completely different things, then we must say that joy and happiness are linked.
It is common today to hear believers speak of a difference between joy and happiness. The teaching usually makes the following points: 1) Happiness is a feeling, but joy is not. 2) Happiness is fleeting, but joy is everlasting. 3) Happiness depends on circumstances or other people, but joy is a gift from God. 4) Happiness is worldly, but joy is divine. But there is no such distinction made in Scripture, and forcing a distinction between two words that are so obviously close in meaning is unnecessary.
If a person is joyful, then he or she is happy. There’s no such thing as glum joy. We cannot drain joy of emotion and still call it “joy.” When God’s Spirit gives us joy, then we are happy people. Christians should be joyful; happiness should characterize our everyday lives.
James 1:2 says, “Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials.” Christians can be happy, even in the midst of difficulties, because we know “the testing of our faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing” (verses 3–4). As we persevere through trials, with God’s help, our faith strengthens and matures. By God’s grace we can be happy despite our circumstances.
Joy is often presented as “true” contentment based on faith. Happiness, in contrast, is often thought of as “false” or “superficial” emotion dependent on circumstances. But this is a false dichotomy. There is nothing in the Bible that suggests we divorce joy from happiness. The two are equal.
Of course, there are different types of joy and happiness. There is a joy that comes from the world, such as “the fleeting pleasures of sin” spoken of in Hebrews 11:25. There is a joy that is part of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). There is a temporary happiness and an eternal happiness, but we can call both “happiness.” We don’t need to split hairs between the meaning of joy and happiness. We just need to decide where our joy comes from. Are we happy in the Lord, or are we content with the happiness the world affords?
Solomon tried the world’s brand of happiness and found it to be lacking: “I said to myself, ‘Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.’ But that also proved to be meaningless. ‘Laughter,’ I said, ‘is madness. And what does pleasure accomplish?’” (Ecclesiastes 2:1–2). The joy of the world is hollow, but the joy of the Lord is rich and abundant. The world’s happiness will fade with time, but God’s people will be happy forever.
“Those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away” (Isaiah 35:10).

Satans Playing Field / Canada Is Showing Us The True, Ugly Colors of Euthanasia.

Euthanasia Is Not Mercy!!!
Canada’s so-called Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program isn’t just failing vulnerable people — it’s actively betraying them. Time and again, it delivers fresh, horrifying proof that euthanasia is not compassion, but a moral nightmare dressed as mercy. Yet far too many still look away. Why?
Mrs. B’s Swift and Tragic End
Consider an elderly woman in her 80s — known only as Mrs. B — who endured devastating complications after heart surgery. Sent home for palliative care under her husband’s watch, she initially expressed interest in MAiD. However, during her first formal assessment, she withdrew the request decisively, citing personal and religious convictions. She explicitly chose inpatient hospice or palliative sedation instead — options that honored her desire to live out her final days naturally.
Her husband, crushed by what he called “caregiver burnout” and frustrated by a denied hospice placement, refused to honor her decision. The very next day, he demanded a second assessment. In a horrifying rush, the new assessor dismissed the first practitioner’s explicit warnings: concerns about coercion, the patient’s sudden reversal, and the absence of any true medical emergency. A third virtual approval followed like a rubber stamp. Assessments conducted in her husband’s presence sealed her fate. That same evening, Mrs. B was euthanized — a grotesque, single-day execution against her clearly stated will.
An official Ontario MAiD Death Review Committee report exposed the litany of failures of this case: superficial scrutiny of her vulnerability, blatant disregard for manipulation and viable alternatives, and eroded safeguards that let external pressures extinguish an innocent life. Stripped to its essence, this is the brutal reality: Her husband — however burdened — effectively discarded his wife’s life because he no longer wanted the responsibility. The report itself concluded that the assisted suicide occurred “against her will.”
Kiano Vafaeian, 26: Diabetic, Blind, and Depressed
Now contrast this horror with 26-year-old Kiano Vafaeian, who actively sought MAiD. Battling Type 1 diabetes, blindness in at least one eye, and crushing depression, he was approved once — only to be saved by his mother’s passionate intervention. Margaret Marsilla launched a public campaign, secured mental health resources, and halted the process, granting him precious time to live.
But MAiD’s 2022 expansion to non-terminal chronic conditions reopened the door. Approved again and scheduled to be euthanized that September in Toronto, his mother once more successfully rallied support through petitions and media, even prompting her son’s doctor to withdraw. Years passed. Then, in late 2025, Vafaeian was approved yet again, this time in Vancouver by Dr. Ellen Wiebe, who has carried out over 400 executions by euthanasia. This final green light exploited a loophole, framing his torment as primarily physical (diabetes-related blindness) despite depression’s undeniable dominance. The young man, not even 30 years old, was euthanized on December 30, 2025.
His mother learned of his death only after it was done. Distraught, she decried the system’s failure to involve family or offer alternatives, accusing it of choosing “death over care.”
A Tapestry of Abuse, Manipulation, and Pseudo-Solutions
These are not isolated tragedies. Rather, they are but glimpses of a vast pattern of manipulation, where exhaustion, depression, or despair are met not with healthy support and comfort but with a swift path to death. Proponents frame assisted suicide as liberation — an “easy way out” when life becomes too much. They conveniently ignore that hardships can be overcome, that hope and help do exist. Yet death becomes the pseudo-solution sold as mercy. And tragically, too many accept it.
The pattern poisons even broader corners of society. Canadian actress Claire Brosseau, only 48, has fought manic depression, anxiety, substance abuse, chronic suicidal ideation, and more since childhood. She has appeared in dozens of films, survived multiple suicide attempts, and remains under multiple mental health specialists’ care. Denied MAiD in 2021 — because the program still excludes mental illness alone as a qualifying factor — she joined a lawsuit with Dying With Dignity Canada, claiming exclusion is “discriminatory” and violates her “right to die.”
To this day, her case remains pending. Yet both her psychiatrists insist that she can improve — that they desperately want her to heal. Still, Brosseau feels it has all been “too much,” ready to abandon friends, family, and life itself.
The rot even extends to Canada’s prisons. Since 2018, at least 15 federal inmates have been euthanized via MAiD, with 67 applications overall and numbers climbing. The state now offers death as an “escape” for those already caged — preferring lethal injection over meaningful reform, rehabilitation, or humane care.
Euthanasia Is Not Mercy
When will we finally say, “Enough”?
The question is not whether these deaths — from an elderly woman coerced against her will, to a young man in his 20s whose depression was treatable, to prisoners offered death instead of redemption — constitute mercy. The reality screams otherwise: euthanasia is not compassion, but a perilous gateway to exploitation, coercion, and the erosion of human dignity. It transforms suffering into a justification for state-sanctioned killing, abandoning the vulnerable when they need protection most.
Canada’s MAiD regime reveals a society sliding toward moral collapse — one where death is normalized as a budget-friendly “solution,” where safeguards crumble under pressure and emotion, and where the sanctity of life is traded for convenience. The evidence piles up. The body count rises. The human toll devastates. So, why aren’t we demanding abolition now? Why aren’t we pouring resources into palliative care that comforts, mental health services that heal, disability support that dignifies, prison reform that redeems?
People are not disposable. Every person bears God’s image. We were created to be pursued — first by Him, then by one another. Not abandoned. Not euthanized. Not left alone in our brokenness. Those realities, dear reader, are devastating products of a fallen world. A world where real solutions are sidelined by the expansion of a program that kills the very people it claims to help.
And Canada isn’t the only country fueling this industry of death. Other nations are following close behind. Canada just happens to be full of horrendous stories that show the true, ugly colors of euthanasia. Yet, even in America, at least 11 states have legalized some form of assisted suicide, with 10 others considering similar laws.
This is a fallen world’s cruel counterfeit of compassion, and it’s creeping in slowly, going unnoticed by many. Sin has fractured everything — our bodies, our minds, our relationships, our societies. We’re all guilty before a holy God, deserving judgment for our rebellion. But here is the astonishing good news: God did not abandon us to death.
In His love, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life we could not live, to die on the cross bearing the penalty for our sins, and to rise again, conquering death itself. And in Christ, suffering finds meaning, dignity is restored, and eternal life is secured — not through ending life prematurely, but through trusting the One who gives life abundantly.
Real solutions exist. They demand effort, sacrifice, love, and truth. The gospel offers a better way: life, hope, redemption. We can still choose it — for ourselves, for the vulnerable, for our culture. But silence is complicity. The time to act is now, before more image-bearers are discarded in the name of “dignity.” Turn to Christ. Embrace the life only He gives. And fight against a world that seeks to destroy it.
Could Iran shoot chemical weapons at Israel?

Chemical warheads require precise dispersal mechanisms, stable storage conditions, and specialized engineering to survive the extreme heat and pressure of ballistic missile flight.
Iran’s ability to fire chemical weapons at Israel is a question that blends capability, intent, and technical feasibility.
Iran signed the Chemical Weapons Convention in 1993 and ratified it in 1997, formally banning the development and use of chemical agents.
Despite this, U.S. intelligence assessments have long stated that Iran retains the industrial capacity, precursor chemicals, and technical expertise needed to restart chemical‑weapons production if it chose to.
Reports from the U.S. State Department and Defense Intelligence Agency note that Iran previously produced mustard gas and nerve agents during the Iran‑Iraq War, giving it historical experience in chemical‑weapons manufacturing.
The more complex issue is whether Iran could deliver such weapons to Israel.
Iran possesses one of the largest and most diverse missile arsenals in the Middle East, including the Shahab‑3, Sejjil, Emad, and Khorramshahr ballistic missiles, all with ranges between 1,000 and 2,000 kilometers—easily enough to reach Israeli territory.
It also fields cruise missiles such as the Soumar and Paveh, which fly at low altitude and could challenge radar detection.
In theory, any of these systems could be modified to carry a chemical payload.
However, delivering chemical agents effectively is far more difficult than attaching them to a missile.
Chemical warheads require precise dispersal mechanisms, stable storage conditions, and specialized engineering to survive the extreme heat and pressure of ballistic missile flight.
Historically, even advanced militaries have struggled to build reliable chemical‑warhead systems, and Iran has never demonstrated such a capability in testing or combat.
Israel, meanwhile, maintains one of the world’s most advanced multi‑layered air‑defense networks.
Arrow‑2 and Arrow‑3 intercept ballistic missiles outside the atmosphere, David’s Sling covers medium‑range threats, and Iron Dome handles rockets, drones, and short‑range fire.
During Iran’s unprecedented direct attack on Israel in April 2024, the Arrow system successfully intercepted multiple ballistic missiles, proving in real combat that Israel can stop high-speed threats long before they reach Israeli airspace.
Theoretically, Iran could attempt to fire chemical‑armed missiles at Israel, but practically, the obstacles are enormous: engineering challenges, international consequences, and Israel’s proven ability to intercept ballistic missiles at long range.
The scenario is not impossible, but it remains highly unlikely—and strategically self-destructive for Iran.

600,000 American Jews considering immigrating to Israel

Despite terrorism and threats from Iran, American Jews overwhelmingly believe Israel is the safest place in the world for Jews, with antisemitism fueling rise in interest in immigrating to Israel.
Some 600,000 American Jews are currently considering making Aliyah to Israel, a new poll shows, while another 900,000 say they may consider immigrating to Israel at some point in the future.
On Tuesday, the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) released the results of its latest survey of American Jews, polling Jews in the United States regarding their views on Aliyah, or immigration to Israel.
The survey found that more than two-thirds (68%) of American Jews believe that the State of Israel is the safest place in the world for Jews to live, an increase of 5 points compared to last year, despite fears of a possible war between Israel and Iran.
Orthodox Jews were most likely to say they believe Israel is the safest country in the world for Jews, with 91% agreeing with that claim, while ultra-Orthodox Jews were slightly less likely (78%) than other Orthodox Jews. Reform Jews were least likely to agree with the claim (62%), followed by unaffiliated Jews (64%) and Conservative Jews (74%).
Of the estimated 7.5 million Jews living in the United States – according to a 2021 JPPI report – 8%, or 600,000 people, are currently considering making Aliyah to Israel.
While only a minority of respondents indicated they are likely to consider moving to Israel, the vast majority said they would contemplate the move under certain circumstances.
Twelve percent said they might consider moving to Israel at some point in the future, while 35% said they would consider it “under certain circumstances,” with a further 27% saying they would consider it under “extreme circumstances.” Just 13% said they would never contemplate moving to Israel.
Orthodox Jews were far more likely than others to say they are currently considering moving to Israel.
More than one-third (36%) of ultra-Orthodox Jews are currently considering immigrating to Israel, compared to 18% of Orthodox respondents.
Forty percent of American Jews say that antisemitism is the primary reason they would consider Aliyah, a similar figure to polls of Canadian and British Jews.
The vast majority of Jews in the United States (84%), Canada (88%), and Britain (77%) said they had personal connections to someone who immigrated to Israel.
“The findings of the Jewish Peoplehood Index show that Israel, the nation-state of the Jewish people, is perceived by most Jews worldwide as the safest place for Jews,” said JPPI Director-General Dr. Shuki Friedman.
“Rising antisemitism strengthens the connection to Israel and thoughts about Aliyah, and personal networks—family, friends, and community—are the main drivers shaping Aliyah consciousness.”
“The fact that nearly every Jew personally knows someone who has made Aliyah and is satisfied with the move underscores the depth of the connection to Israel and the potential inherent in it. For the Israeli government, this represents a strategic opportunity: there is broad potential for Aliyah from the United States and other affluent countries, awaiting the right circumstances.”

Iran threatens to sink US nuclear carrier as it reaches Mideast

Expert warns American supercarrier deployed to the Persian Gulf could be vulnerable to a swarm attack of Iranian suicide drones as Tehran threatens attack on USS Abraham Lincoln.
The Iranian government threatened over the weekend to sink an American nuclear-powered aircraft carrier deployed to the Middle East in response to Iran’s mass killings of protesters.
Iran’s Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization published a video featuring AI-generated images of an American supercarrier under attack by Iranian forces.
The video details how a concerted attack on a carrier could overwhelm its impressive defensive systems, including the Phalanx close-in weapon system – a high-powered ship-mounted Gatling gun capable of destroying incoming aircraft and missiles.
In the nearly two-minute video, the Iranian IDO claims that a volley of Iran’s Fattah ballistic missiles could overcome a carrier’s defenses, with a direct hit capable of destroying the ship.
The propaganda video closes with AI footage of an American carrier split in half by a ballistic missile before sinking.
Iran released the video shortly before the USS Abraham Lincoln and its battle group arrived in the region Sunday night.
The Nimitz-class supercarrier, supported by three destroyers, was ordered to leave the Pacific last week, as part of the US military’s broader buildup of forces in the Middle East.
While the multibillion-dollar, 116,000-ton supercarrier has extensive defenses – including nine fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter squadrons, along with its support group – some experts say it could be vulnerable to a mass attack by Iranian missiles or drones.
Cameron Chell, CEO of Draganfly, told Fox News that small drone aircraft could swarm a large vessel like the USS Lincoln and pose a “credible threat.”
“If hundreds are launched in a short period of time, some are almost certain to get through,” Chell said.
