“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1).

In this verse believers are commanded to “test the spirits to see whether they are from God.” This same command is echoed in other parts of Scripture as well. For example, in 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 we find Paul exhorting the Christians to not “despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good.”

These two passages are just a few of the many that warn Christians to test the message that people or spirits proclaim. This is true in all situations but most importantly when a person or spirit is claiming to speak for God. Christians are to be discerning hearers and readers of all messages. The reason for the admonition to “test the spirits” or “test all things” is that there are “many false prophets” or “wolves in sheep’s clothing” that try to lead Christians astray. Sadly, there are many people who claim to speak for God who are presenting a false gospel that is powerless to save. Such errant teaching leaves people with a false hope of salvation and, in a way, inoculates them from the true message. People who are deceived into thinking everything is fine will be more resistant to the truth.

Second Corinthians 11:13-15 warns us that “such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.” So the reason for testing the spirits, for testing all religious teaching, is to see if it is truly from God or if it is a lie from Satan and his servants.

The test is to compare what is being taught with the clear teaching of the Bible. The Bible alone is the Word of God; it alone is inspired and inerrant. Therefore, the way to test the spirits is to see if what is being taught is in line with the clear teaching of Scripture. In Acts 17:10-11 the Berean Jews were commended because, after they heard the teachings of Paul and Silas, they “examined the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” The Bereans were called “noble” for doing so.

Testing the spirits means that one must know how to “examine the Scriptures.” Rather than accept every teaching, discerning Christians diligently study the Scriptures. Then they know what the Bible says and therefore can “test all things and hold fast to what is true.” In order to do this, a Christian must “be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). The Word of God is to be “a lamp” and “a light” to our path (Psalm 119:105). We must let its light shine on the teachings and doctrines of the day; the Bible alone is the standard by which all truth must be judged.

In hierdie vers word gelowiges beveel om “die geeste te toets of hulle uit God is.” Dieselfde opdrag word ook in ander dele van die Skrif herhaal. Byvoorbeeld, in 1 Tessalonisense 5:20-21 vind ons Paulus wat die Christene vermaan om nie “profesieë te verag nie, maar alles te toets; behou wat goed is.”

Hierdie twee gedeeltes is slegs ‘n paar van die vele wat Christene waarsku om die boodskap wat mense of geeste verkondig, te toets. Dit is waar in alle situasies, maar die belangrikste wanneer ‘n persoon of gees beweer dat hy namens God spreek. Christene moet onderskeidende hoorders en lesers van alle boodskappe wees. Die rede vir die vermaning om “die geeste te toets” of “alles te toets” is dat daar “baie valse profete” of “wolwe in skaapsklere” is wat Christene probeer mislei. Ongelukkig is daar baie mense wat beweer dat hulle namens God praat, maar wat ‘n valse evangelie aanbied wat magteloos is om te red. Sulke dwalende leringe laat mense met ‘n valse hoop op verlossing en, op ‘n manier, ent hulle af van die ware boodskap. Mense wat mislei word om te dink dat alles goed is, sal meer weerstand bied teen die waarheid.

Tweede Korintiërs 11:13-15 waarsku ons dat “sulke mense valse apostels is, bedrieglike arbeiders wat hulleself vermom as apostels van Christus. En geen wonder nie, want selfs Satan vermom homself as ‘n engel van die lig. Dit is dus geen verrassing as sy dienaars hulle ook vermom as dienaars van geregtigheid nie. Hulle einde sal ooreenstem met hulle dade.” Die rede vir die toets van die geeste, vir die toets van alle godsdienstige leringe, is dus om te sien of dit werklik van God is of ‘n leuen van Satan en sy dienaars is.

Die toets is om te vergelyk wat geleer word met die duidelike lering van die Bybel. Die Bybel alleen is die Woord van God; dit alleen is geïnspireerd en onfeilbaar. Daarom is die manier om die geeste te toets om te sien of wat geleer word, in lyn is met die duidelike leer van die Skrif. In Handelinge 17:10-11 is die Jode van Bere geprys omdat hulle, nadat hulle die leringe van Paulus en Silas gehoor het, “die Skrifte daagliks ondersoek het om te sien of hierdie dinge so was.” Die Bereane is “edel” genoem omdat hulle dit gedoen het.

Om die geeste te toets beteken dat ‘n mens moet weet hoe om “die Skrifte te ondersoek.” Eerder as om elke lering te aanvaar, bestudeer onderskeidende Christene die Skrifte ywerig. Dan weet hulle wat die Bybel sê en kan daarom “alles toets en vashou aan die waarheid.” Om dit te doen, moet ‘n Christen “ywerig wees om jouself beproef voor God te stel, ‘n werker wat hom nie hoef te skaam nie, wat die woord van die waarheid reg sny” (2 Timoteus 2:15). Die Woord van God moet “‘n lamp” en “‘n lig” vir ons pad wees (Psalm 119:105). Ons moet die lig daarvan laat skyn op die leringe en leerstellings van die dag; die Bybel alleen is die maatstaf waarvolgens alle waarheid beoordeel moet word.

Vandag bid ons vir ‘n rein hart, Here, want ‘n rein hart burger van die hemel sal God sien. Dankie dat ons nederige mense burgers van die hemel kan word deur Jesus. Amen en Amen.


Bible Teaching of the Day

The Urim (“lights”) and Thummim (“perfections”) were gemstones that were carried by the high priest of Israel on the ephod / priestly garments. They were used by the high priest to determine God’s will in some situations. Some propose that God would cause the Urim and Thummim to light up in varying patterns to reveal His decision. Others propose that the Urim and Thummim were kept in a pouch and were engraved with symbols identifying yes / no and true / false.

It is unclear whether the Urim and Thummim were on, by, or in the high priest’s ephod. No one knows the precise nature of the Urim and Thummim or exactly how they were used. The Bible simply does not give us enough information. References to the Urim and Thummim are rare in the Bible. They are first mentioned in the description of the breastplate of judgment (Exodus 28:30; Leviticus 8:8). When Joshua succeeded Moses as leader over Israel, he was to receive answers from God by means of the Urim through Eleazar the high priest (Numbers 27:21). The Urim and Thummim are next mentioned in Moses’ dying blessing upon Levi (Deuteronomy 33:8). The following Scriptures likely also speak of the Urim and Thummim: Joshua 7:14-18; 1 Samuel 14:37-45; and 2 Samuel 21:1.



Bybel Lering vir die Dag

Die Urim (“ligte”) en Tummim (“perfeksies”) was edelstene wat deur die hoëpriester van Israel op die efod / priesterlike klere gedra is. Hulle is deur die hoëpriester gebruik om God se wil in sommige situasies te bepaal. Sommige stel voor dat God die Urim en Tummim in verskillende patrone sou laat oplig om Sy besluit te openbaar. Ander stel voor dat die Urim en Tummim in ‘n sakkie gehou is en gegraveer is met simbole wat ja / nee en waar / vals identifiseer.

Dit is onduidelik of die Urim en Tummim op, by of in die hoëpriester se efod was. Niemand weet die presiese aard van die Urim en Tummim of presies hoe hulle gebruik is nie. Die Bybel gee ons eenvoudig nie genoeg inligting nie. Verwysings na die Urim en Tummim is skaars in die Bybel. Hulle word die eerste keer genoem in die beskrywing van die borsharnas van oordeel (Eksodus 28:30; Levitikus 8:8). Toe Josua Moses as leier oor Israel opgevolg het, sou hy antwoorde van God ontvang deur middel van die Urim deur Eleasar, die hoëpriester (Numeri 27:21). Die Urim en Tummim word vervolgens genoem in Moses se laaste seën oor Levi (Deuteronomium 33:8). Today’s Devotional

Many places in Scripture extol the faithfulness of God. Lamentations 3:22–23 says, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” So, what is faithfulness?

The Hebrew word translated “faithfulness” means “steadfastness, firmness, fidelity.” The opposite of being faithful is to be ever-changing or wishy-washy. Psalm 119:89–90 says, “Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations.” Here faithfulness is equated with God’s Word. God speaks never-ending truth. If God spoke something a thousand years ago, it still stands. He is faithful to His Word, because His Word is an expression of His character. The promises He made still hold true because He does not change (Malachi 3:6). We see this illustrated from a human perspective in a couple married for many years. When the wife lies on her deathbed, her husband sits nearby holding her hand. He won’t leave her, even though she no longer recognizes him. He is faithful to the promises he made to her. In the same way, God remains faithful to His promises, even though we are often unfaithful to Him (2 Timothy 2:13).

We learn to trust the character of a person by getting to know that person. We would not entrust our bank account to a stranger we met in line at the post office—we have no experience with him. We don’t know his character. Before we know God, we are afraid to trust Him. We don’t yet know who He is or what He may do. We learn to trust God by getting to know His character. There are three ways we can get to know Him: studying His Word, reviewing His working in our own lives, and learning to follow His voice.

When we study God’s Word, a pattern emerges. We learn that God never changes and never lies (Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29). We learn through Scripture that God has never failed in the past (Isaiah 51:6). He was always true to His Word as He worked in the lives of the ancient Israelites. When He said He would do something, He did it (Numbers 11:23; Matthew 24:35). We begin to build trust upon His proven character. We can trust that God will be true to Himself. He will never cease acting like God. He will never cease being sovereign, being holy, or being good (1 Timothy 6:15; 1 Peter 1:16).

We learn through our own history that He has never failed us, either. One command God often gave the Israelites was: “Remember” (Deuteronomy 8:2; Isaiah 46:9). When they remembered all God had done for them, they could more easily trust Him for the future. We need to intentionally remember all the ways God has provided for us and delivered us in the past. Keeping a prayer journal can help with this. When we recall the ways God has answered our prayers, it equips us to continue asking and expecting answers. When we come to Him in prayer, we know that He always hears us (1 John 5:14; Psalm 34:15). He provides what we need (Philippians 4:19). And He will always make everything work together for our good when we trust Him with it (Romans 8:28). We learn to trust God’s future faithfulness by remembering His past faithfulness.

And we can also learn to trust Him by learning to distinguish His voice from the others that compete for attention. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice; I know them and they follow me” (John 10:27). We who belong to Jesus need to cultivate the ability to hear Him. He speaks primarily through His Word, but He can also speak through other people, through circumstances, and through the inner confirmation of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:16). As we carefully read and meditate upon Scripture, the Holy Spirit often quickens our hearts to a verse or passage and helps us claim it and apply it to our current situation. What the Spirit shows us in His Word is to be taken by faith as His message to us. We build trust by claiming His promises and applying them to our lives.

Above all things, God loves for us to demonstrate faith (Hebrews 11:6). Faith is trusting in the character of God before we see how He is going to work things out. He has given us His Word, and His promises still stand. As we see the ways He brings His promises to fulfillment, our trust in His faithfulness grows. Just as our trust in other people grows with daily interaction, our trust in God grows the same way. We trust Him when we know Him, and to know Him is to trust Him. When we know Him, we can rest in His goodness, even when we don’t understand the circumstances that seem to contradict it. We can trust that God’s plan for us will prevail (Proverbs 19:21). As a child trusts a loving father, we can trust our heavenly Father to always do what is right.



Vandag se Bemoediging

Baie plekke in die Skrif prys die getrouheid van God. Klaagliedere 3:22–23 sê: “As gevolg van die groot liefde van die Here gaan ons nie verteer nie, want sy barmhartigheid vergaan nooit nie. Hulle is elke môre nuut; groot is u getrouheid.” So, wat is getrouheid?

Die Hebreeuse woord wat as “trouheid” vertaal word, beteken “standvastigheid, fermheid, getrouheid.” Die teenoorgestelde van getrou wees, is om voortdurend te verander of wispelturig te wees. Psalm 119:89–90 sê: “U woord, Here, is ewig; dit staan vas in die hemele. U getrouheid duur deur al die geslagte.” Hier word getrouheid gelykgestel aan God se Woord. God spreek nimmereindigende waarheid. As God iets duisend jaar gelede gespreek het, staan dit steeds. Hy is getrou aan Sy Woord, want Sy Woord is ‘n uitdrukking van Sy karakter. Die beloftes wat Hy gemaak het, bly steeds waar omdat Hy nie verander nie (Maleagi 3:6). Ons sien dit vanuit ‘n menslike perspektief geïllustreer in ‘n paartjie wat vir baie jare getroud is. Wanneer die vrou op haar sterfbed lê, sit haar man naby haar en hou haar hand vas. Hy sal haar nie verlaat nie, al herken sy hom nie meer nie. Hy is getrou aan die beloftes wat hy aan haar gemaak het. Op dieselfde manier bly God getrou aan Sy beloftes, al is ons dikwels ontrou aan Hom (2 Timoteus 2:13).

Ons leer om die karakter van ‘n persoon te vertrou deur daardie persoon te leer ken. Ons sou nie ons bankrekening aan ‘n vreemdeling toevertrou wat ons in die ry by die poskantoor ontmoet het nie – ons het geen ervaring met hom nie. Ons ken nie sy karakter nie. Voordat ons God ken, is ons bang om Hom te vertrou. Ons weet nog nie wie Hy is of wat Hy mag doen nie. Ons leer om God te vertrou deur Sy karakter te leer ken. Daar is drie maniere waarop ons Hom kan leer ken: om Sy Woord te bestudeer, om Sy werking in ons eie lewens te hersien, en om te leer om Sy stem te volg.

Wanneer ons God se Woord bestudeer, ontstaan ‘n patroon. Ons leer dat God nooit verander nie en nooit lieg nie (Numeri 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29). Ons leer deur die Skrif dat God nog nooit in die verlede gefaal het nie (Jesaja 51:6). Hy was altyd getrou aan Sy Woord terwyl Hy in die lewens van die antieke Israeliete gewerk het. Toe Hy gesê het Hy sou iets doen, het Hy dit gedoen (Numeri 11:23; Matteus 24:35). Ons begin vertroue bou op Sy bewese karakter. Ons kan vertrou dat God getrou aan Homself sal wees. Hy sal nooit ophou om soos God op te tree nie. Hy sal nooit ophou om soewerein, heilig of goed te wees nie (1 Timoteus 6:15; 1 Petrus 1:16).

Ons leer deur ons eie geskiedenis dat Hy ons ook nooit gefaal het nie. Een opdrag wat God dikwels aan die Israeliete gegee het, was: “Onthou” (Deuteronomium 8:2; Jesaja 46:9). Wanneer hulle alles onthou het wat God vir hulle gedoen het, kon hulle Hom makliker vir die toekoms vertrou. Ons moet doelbewus al die maniere onthou waarop God vir ons voorsien en ons in die verlede verlos het. Om ‘n gebedsjoernaal te hou, kan hiermee help. Wanneer ons die maniere onthou waarop God ons gebede verhoor het, rus dit ons toe om aan te hou vra en antwoorde te verwag. Wanneer ons in gebed na Hom kom, weet ons dat Hy ons altyd hoor (1 Johannes 5:14; Psalm 34:15). Hy voorsien wat ons nodig het (Filippense 4:19). En Hy sal altyd alles ten goede laat meewerk wanneer ons Hom daarmee vertrou (Romeine 8:28). Ons leer om God se toekomstige getrouheid te vertrou deur Sy getrouheid uit die verlede te onthou.

En ons kan ook leer om Hom te vertrou deur te leer om Sy stem te onderskei van die ander wat om aandag meeding. Jesus het gesê: “My skape luister na my stem; Ek ken hulle en hulle volg My” (Johannes 10:27). Ons wat aan Jesus behoort, moet die vermoë kweek om Hom te hoor. Hy spreek hoofsaaklik deur Sy Woord, maar Hy kan ook deur ander mense spreek, deur omstandighede en deur die innerlike bevestiging van die Heilige Gees (Romeine 8:16). Terwyl ons die Skrif noukeurig lees en daaroor mediteer, maak die Heilige Gees ons harte dikwels lewendig tot ‘n vers of gedeelte en help ons om dit op te eis en toe te pas op ons huidige situasie. Wat die Gees vir ons in Sy Woord wys, moet deur geloof as Sy boodskap aan ons geneem word. Ons bou vertroue deur Sy beloftes op te eis en dit in ons lewens toe te pas.

Bowenal hou God daarvan dat ons geloof demonstreer (Hebreërs 11:6). Geloof is om op die karakter van God te vertrou voordat ons sien hoe Hy dinge gaan uitwerk. Hy het vir ons Sy Woord gegee, en Sy beloftes staan steeds. Soos ons die maniere sien waarop Hy Sy beloftes vervul, groei ons vertroue in Sy getrouheid. Net soos ons vertroue in ander mense groei met daaglikse interaksie, groei ons vertroue in God op dieselfde manier. Ons vertrou Hom wanneer ons Hom ken, en om Hom te ken, is om Hom te vertrou. Wanneer ons Hom ken, kan ons in Sy goedheid rus, selfs wanneer ons nie die omstandighede verstaan wat dit blyk te weerspreek nie. Ons kan vertrou dat God se plan vir ons sal seëvier (Spreuke 19:21). Soos ‘n kind ‘n liefdevolle vader vertrou, kan ons ons hemelse Vader vertrou om altyd te doen wat reg is.

Meer, Meer En Meer:

Nou sommige mense hou daarvan om inkopies te doen. Hulle wil net voortdurend koop koop en koop. Daar is groot inkopiesentrums daarsoor die wêreld.
Die toename in aankope en aanlyn inkopies, toon aan dat dit ń globale fenomeen geword het.
Om inkopies te doen, kan aangenaam wees. En daar’s beslis niks verkeerd daarmee om die dinge wat die Here aan ons gee, te geniet nie. Maar wanneer hierdie dinge vir ons te belangrik word en aankope byna ń obsessie vir ons word, kan ons fokus verloor.
Jesus het sy lesers met die volgende woorde uitgedaag: “Pas op en wees op julle hoede vir elke vorm van gierigheid, want ń mens se lewe is nie afhanklik van die oorvloed van sy besittings nie ( Luk 12:15 ). Hy gaan voort en vertel dan die gelykenis van ń man wat vir homself skatte vergader het en nie ryk is by God nie ( Luk 12:21 ).
Hoe kan ons aanleer om tevrede te wees met wat ons het en nie voortdurend strewe om meer en meer te versamel nie ? Hier is ń paar maniere: Beskou aardse goed as iets deur God gegee en wat wyslik gebruik moet word ( Matt 25:14-30 ). Werk hard om geld te verdien en spaar soveel jy kan ( Spr 6:6-11 ). Gee vir die Here se werk en diegene wat nood het ( 2 Kor 9:7; Spr 19:17 ). En onthou om altyd dankbaar te wees met dit wat God gee, te geniet !

Here ons is dikwels so agter goed aan. Laat ons nie hiermee behep word nie en altyd net meer en meer aardse goedere te versamel nie. Mag ons eerder aanleer om ryk in U en teenoor U te wees !

Om ryk in God te wees, is baie beter as om ryk in besittings te wees !

Now some people love to shop. They just want to buy, buy, and buy. There are huge shopping malls all over the world.
The increase in shopping and online shopping shows that it has become a global phenomenon.
Shopping can be enjoyable. And there is certainly nothing wrong with enjoying the things that God gives us. But when these things become too important to us and shopping becomes almost an obsession for us, we can lose focus.
Jesus challenged his readers with these words: “Beware and be on your guard against every form of greed, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses ( Luke 12:15 ). He then goes on to tell the parable of the man who stored up treasure for himself but was not rich toward God ( Luke 12:21 ).
How can we learn to be content with what we have and not constantly strive to accumulate more and more? Here are some ways: View earthly goods as something given by God and to be used wisely ( Matt 25:14-30 ). Work hard to earn money and save as much as you can ( Prov 6:6-11 ). Give to the Lord’s work and to those in need ( 2 Cor 9:7; Prov 19:17 ). And remember to always be grateful for what God gives, to enjoy it!

Lord, we are often so after good things. Let us not be obsessed with this and always not just to accumulate more and more earthly goods. May we rather learn to be rich in You and towards You!

Being rich in God is much better than being rich in possessions!

A Palestinian state, they say. One that would exist side-by-side with Israel in “peace.” But let’s be honest: this is not diplomacy. This is delusion. It is appeasement. Worse–it is complicity with evil, wrapped in the language of “international consensus.”

Speaking under the cloak of anonymity, a French diplomatic source has revealed that France will host an international summit in September aimed at rallying support for recognizing a Palestinian state. Let that sink in: While kidnapped civilians remain in Hamas’ tunnels, and while rockets continue to fall–France is preparing to reward the society that cheered the bloodshed with full diplomatic honors.

This summit is not a move toward peace. It is an insult to justice. It sends a chilling message to the world: Terror pays.

A State Built on Hatred

Let’s examine the moral absurdity of this push. In a poll conducted just weeks after the October 7 massacre, 85% of Palestinians in Gaza openly supported the slaughter of innocent Israelis. That is not a fringe minority. That is the mainstream sentiment in a population many now want to legitimize with borders, embassies, and a seat at the UN.

Even today, Hamas’ genocidal ideology remains popular, particularly in the so-called West Bank–an area dominated by the Palestinian Authority, which itself refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist. The PA has a long, documented history of incitement, corruption, and financial rewards to the families of terrorists. This is the regime world powers want to bless with statehood?

Let’s be brutally clear: There is no Palestinian leadership that supports peace with Israel. Not one that has the will or the credibility to uphold it. There is no functioning economy, no stable civil society, no education system that teaches coexistence. It’s tempting to view this as merely another episode of internet drama. But it’s far more than that. “Coldplaygate” reveals something deeper–about technology, about truth, and about the spiritual condition of our age.

First, let’s confront the reality: nothing is hidden anymore. In a world where nearly every person is a cameraman and every moment is a potential broadcast, the illusion of privacy is fading fast. A TikTok account with a modest following can turn your secret into tomorrow’s headline. One push of a button, and the truth–however uncomfortable–is out.

Proverbs 10:9 reminds us: “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” For centuries, people could sin in secret, hoping never to be exposed. But that’s no longer the case–not in this hyper-connected world, and certainly not before the eyes of an all-knowing God.

Surveillance State Meets Human Nature

Yes, we live in an age of surveillance. From stadium cameras to facial recognition to ever-watching smartphones, we are surrounded. But more than that, we’re also watched by each other. And when the watching becomes a form of entertainment, when someone’s shame becomes the internet’s punchline, we’re reminded of just how quickly the crowd can turn into a courtroom–and then into a coliseum.

But perhaps what’s most sobering is that this event didn’t require high-tech government tools to reveal the truth. All it took was a concert screen, a camera pan, and a moment of sinful compromise.

“For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light” (Luke 8:17). That’s not just a spiritual statement–it’s a modern reality.

The Gospel’s Uncomfortable Truth

What makes this moment so jarring isn’t just the affair, but the visceral shame that followed. The quick jerk away. The hidden face. The sudden retreat. It was as though their souls knew: we’ve been seen.

This is the moment every sinner dreads–not just being guilty, but being exposed. That’s why so many people hide. We manage our image, we rehearse our excuses, we cloak our actions in secrecy. But exposure, as painful as it is, may also be the first mercy of God.

Because the gospel doesn’t just confront us with the fact that we sin–it exposes us so that we might repent.

Hebrews 4:13 declares: “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” That’s a terrifying truth–unless we’ve already come to the cross.

The Bible tells us that God sees not only what is done in secret, but what is whispered in the heart. And yet He offers forgiveness, not through public shame, but through repentance and grace. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us” (1 John 1:9). But hiding them, managing them, pretending they’re not real? That only leads to ruin.

Lessons from a Moment on the Screen

Coldplaygate reminds us of several truths worth carrying forward:

Secrets rarely stay secret. Whether by God’s design or technological accident, sin will find a way to surface. Better to confess it now than to be crushed by its exposure later.

We are always being watched. By cameras, by people, and most importantly, by God. The question is not if we are seen–it is whether we walk in integrity when no one else appears to be looking.

Shame is not the end–it can be the beginning. In a culture that either celebrates sin or crucifies it, the gospel offers something else entirely: redemption.

Don’t be quick to laugh. Many were eager to mock, meme, and cancel. But how many of us would survive the camera’s lens on our darkest day? Better to weep for others than to revel in their ruin.

In a stadium filled with cheers, the spotlight turned and revealed the truth. That light was not just a beam on a screen–it was a mirror held up to the human soul.

And if it makes us uncomfortable, maybe that’s the point.
