READ THE MASTERS INSTRUCTION MANUAL !!! = THE BIBLE

I recently had an aggravating dialogue with someone who insisted that the Bible contains errors regarding science and history, and, therefore, it should only be trusted regarding spiritual matters. I have run across countless people like this over the years, but what made this dialogue particularly exasperating was the fact that he was entirely comfortable with his position even after I explained how irrational it is.
In the areas of science and history, much of what the Bible says can be tested. Spirituality cannot be tested or objectively proven. Essentially what this mindset argues is that we should trust what the Bible says about spiritual things, where it cannot be tested, even though in the areas where the Bible can be tested, it is full of errors, discrepancies, contradictions, and backwards thinking.
Imagine you had a friend who offered to take you out to dinner, and on the way, he got into a traffic accident, causing you minor injuries. Later, to make it up to you, he offered to drive you to a follow-up doctor’s appointment. He insisted he knew a shortcut, but proceeded to get lost, causing you to miss your appointment. The next day you discover an infection has set in and you need to go to the emergency room. Are you going to call this same friend and ask for a ride?
If the Bible is like this friend, time and time again leading you astray and causing you problems, why in the world would you trust it when your eternal destiny is at stake? If the Bible is wrong in history, science, and other “unimportant” matters, why in the world should you trust it on matters that are eternally important?
To this person, though, it didn’t matter. Evidently God did not care enough to make sure the biblical authors got science and history correct. But, when they started writing about spiritual things, God made sure they got things right. Hmm…
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, emphasis added)
“God is not man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change his mind. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it?” (Numbers 23:19)
“This God — His way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him.” (Psalm 18:30)
The Bible sure seems to present itself as a “take it or leave it” proposition. The Bible does not present itself as partially true, or mostly inspired, or almost flawless. The Bible is trustworthy! All of it! We don’t get to pick and choose which parts of the Bible we believe.
The one specific issue this guy raised was the fact that the Bible teaches that the sun revolves around the earth. Umm…it does? The Bible mentions sunsets and sunrises, but so does my weatherman. Granted, the authors of the Bible very likely believed that the sun revolves around the earth — because that is how it appears. And no, it does not appear God thought it was important enough to correct their thinking on this issue. But, the Bible does not say that the sun revolves around the earth. When the Bible mentions a sunrise or sunset, it is not teaching science. Rather, it is using a common observation to make a spiritual point: “From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised!” (Psalm 113:3)
The audacity it takes to make yourself the judge over what parts of the Bible you accept or reject—I can’t go there. You shouldn’t go there either.
We should read and study the Bible because it is God’s Word to us. The Bible is literally “God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16). In other words, it is God’s very words to us. There are so many questions that philosophers have asked that God answers for us in Scripture. What is the purpose to life? Where did I come from? Is there life after death? How do I get to heaven? Why is the world full of evil? Why do I struggle to do good? In addition to these “big” questions, the Bible gives much practical advice in areas such as: How can I be a good friend? What is success and how do I achieve it? How can I change? What really matters in life? How can I live so that I do not look back with regret? How can I handle the unfair circumstances and bad events of life victoriously? What do I look for in a mate? How can I have a successful marriage? How can I be a good parent?
We should read and study the Bible because it is totally reliable and without error. The Bible is unique among so-called “holy” books in that it does not merely give moral teaching and say, “Trust me.” Rather, we have the ability to test it by checking the hundreds of detailed prophecies that it makes, by checking the historical accounts it records, and by checking the scientific facts it relates. Those who say the Bible has errors have their ears closed to the truth. Jesus once asked which is easier to say, “Your sins are forgiven you,” or “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” Then He proved He had the ability to forgive sins (something we cannot see with our eyes) by healing the paralytic (something those around Him could test with their eyes, see Matthew 9:1-8 and Mark 2:1-12). Similarly, we are given assurance that God’s Word is true when it discusses spiritual areas that we cannot test with our senses by showing itself true in those areas that we can test, such as historical accuracy, scientific accuracy, and prophetic accuracy.
We should read and study the Bible because God does not change and because mankind’s nature does not change; it is as relevant for us as it was when it was written. While technology changes, mankind’s nature and desires do not change. We find, as we read the pages of biblical history, that whether we are talking about one-on-one relationships or societies, “there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). And while mankind as a whole continues to seek love and satisfaction in all of the wrong places, God—our good and gracious Creator—tells us what will bring us lasting joy. His revealed Word, the Bible, is so important that Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 8:3 in response to one of Satan’s temptations in the wilderness: “Jesus answered, ‘It is written: “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”’” (Matthew 4:4). In other words, if we want to live life to the fullest, as God intended, we must listen to and heed God’s written Word.
We should read and study the Bible because there is so much false teaching. The Bible gives us the measuring stick by which we can distinguish truth from error. It tells us what God is like. To have a wrong impression of God is to worship an idol or false god. We are worshiping something that He is not. The Bible tells us how one truly gets to heaven, and it is not by being good or by being baptized or by anything else we do (Isaiah 53:6; John 14:6; Romans 3:10-18; 5:8; 6:23; 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:1-10). Along this line, God’s Word shows us just how much God loves us (John 3:16; Romans 5:6-8). And it is in learning this that we are drawn to love Him in return (1 John 4:19).
The Bible equips us to serve God (2 Timothy 3:17; Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12). It helps us know how to be saved from our sin and its ultimate consequence (2 Timothy 3:15). Meditating on God’s Word and obeying its teachings will bring success in life (Joshua 1:8; James 1:25). God’s Word helps us see sin in our lives and helps us get rid of it (Psalm 119:9, 11). It gives us guidance in life, making us wiser than our teachers (Psalm 32:8, 119:99; Proverbs 1:6). The Bible keeps us from wasting years of our lives on that which does not matter and will not last (Matthew 7:24-27).
Reading and studying the Bible helps us see beyond the attractive “bait” to the painful “hook” in sinful temptations, so that we can learn from others’ mistakes rather than making them ourselves. Experience is a great teacher, but when it comes to learning from sin, it is a terribly hard teacher. It is so much better to learn from others’ mistakes. There are so many Bible characters to learn from, some of whom can serve as both positive and negative role models at different times in their lives. For example, David, in his defeat of Goliath, teaches us that God is greater than anything He asks us to face (1 Samuel 17), while his giving in to the temptation to commit adultery with Bathsheba reveals just how long-lasting and terrible the consequences of a moment’s sinful pleasure can be (2 Samuel 11).
The Bible is a book that is not merely for reading. It is a book for studying so that it can be applied. Otherwise, it is like swallowing food without chewing and then spitting it back out again—no nutritional value is gained by it. The Bible is God’s Word. As such, it is as binding as the laws of nature. We can ignore it, but we do so to our own detriment, just as we would if we ignored the law of gravity. It cannot be emphasized strongly enough just how important the Bible is to our lives. Studying the Bible can be compared to mining for gold. If we make little effort and merely “sift through the pebbles in a stream,” we will only find a little gold dust. But the more we make an effort to really dig into it, the more reward we will gain for our effort.
IS IT A SIN NOT READING OR STUDY THE BIBLE ?
Sin is any word, thought, motivation, or deed that falls “short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is the breaking of God’s law and rebellion against His nature and decrees. If God wills for us to read His Word, then not reading it is sin.
The very fact that God has inspired His Word and preserved it through the centuries implies that He desires for it to be read. Why would He write a book if He did not care whether or not people read it?
Sin begins in the heart, and that’s where God looks (1 Samuel 16:7; Jeremiah 17:10; Romans 8:27). If we are not reading the Bible because we aren’t interested in what God has said, we are guilty of apathy. If we are not reading the Bible because we think we don’t need to, we are guilty of pride. If we are not reading the Bible because we can’t find the time or we don’t consider it important, we are guilty of having wrong priorities. Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33, ESV). Jesus also said, “To whom much is given, much is required” (Luke 12:48). God expects us to invest our time, resources, passions, and service in that which has eternal value. Those who have God’s Word at their fingertips will answer to Him for what they did with that high privilege.
In Psalm 119, which is all about God’s Word, the psalmist “learns,” “considers,” “keeps,” “proclaims,” and “meditates on” the Word of God (Psalm 119:6–8, 13, 15). All of these actions presume a reading of the Bible. Not just a reading, but a deep desire to know God’s Word, apply it to life, and share it with others.
In addition to the example of the psalmist, the believer is told to “be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15, NKJV). Given the direct command to “rightly divide” the Word (or “correctly teach” it, as the CSB has), it would seem that not reading the Bible is a sin.
Reading and studying God’s Word equips us to better handle life’s challenges Avoiding a sin of omission (not reading the Bible) can prevent sins of commission: “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you” (Psalm 119:11). Reading the Bible contributes to spiritual growth (1 Peter 2:2).
“The word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). We all need the scrutiny God’s Word brings to our lives. We need to be reading the Bible.
Christians have a responsibility to know the Word of God so that they can rightly explain it to the world. First Peter 3:15 commands us to always be ready to give an answer about the hope we have in Christ. Unbelievers have questions. When they encounter a Christian who does not know his or her Bible, it can appear that there are no answers, and this is a disservice to those with questions.
For most people, the Bible is readily available in many ways. It is a sin to disregard our opportunities to hear from God. For illiterate or auditory learners, audio Bibles are available. Study Bibles are filled with helpful commentaries to aid us in understanding tough passages. Modern versions and paraphrases help ancient situations come alive so that we understand the Bible in its true context. James 4:17 can be applied to reading the Bible: “Whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”
Often when we are concerned about whether something is a sin, we are asking the wrong question. A better question for Christians is this: “What would Jesus have me do?” In His longest recorded prayer, Jesus asked the Father to “sanctify them by your truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17). So we have His answer. He wants us to be sanctified, and we can only pursue that through the study and application of God’s Word. Neglecting the Bible is displeasing to Him and makes us vulnerable to deception by our enemy, Satan (1 Peter 5:8).

“Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
—2 Corinthians 10:17-18
We live in a world with skewed values, false promises, lust for notoriety, and desperation for fleeting fame. The real question for us, needs to be this: What can we boast in other than the steadfastness of the Lord’s love, the incredible riches of the Lord’s grace, the incomparable supply of the Lord’s blessings, the sweetness of the Lord’s people, the mercy of the Lord’s plan for our salvation, the promise of the Lord’s tomorrow, and the promise of the Lord Jesus’ nearness (Philippians 4:5; Romans 8:38-39; Hebrews 13:5-6) — who is with us and in us and for us? So, dear friend of Jesus, let’s have our only boast be in the Lord because that is where everything else that matters in our lives can be found!
Prayer
Lord of majesty and mercy, every good and enduring thing in our lives we have because of your love, grace, mercy, and presence. You are our assurance and hope. You are our blessing and boast. We place our assurance of a glorious future in you, Lord Jesus. In your name, we offer our thanks and praise as we boast only in our Lord. Amen and Amen

NEWS MANNA –
A Third Red Heifer Is Born: Rabbis Race to Examine the Herd Israel Has Waited 2,000 Years to Raise

A calf was born in a dairy barn in the Jordan Valley last week, and on Rosh Chodesh Elul, a delegation of rabbis stood over her, running their hands through her coat. She was the third heifer of her kind to be born in Israel this season, joining two others already under watch in the Galilee and the Golan Heights. Together, the three calves represent the most concrete progress yet toward a goal Jewish tradition has pursued since the destruction of the Second Temple: raising a red heifer whose ashes can restore ritual purity to the Jewish people.
The examinations were carried out by the Beit Midrash, the rabbinic study hall, of the National Institute for Red Heifer Research, a body that unites religious Zionist, Litvish, and Hasidic rabbis around a single national mission. Members of the Institute traveled to all three farms in a single sweep, checking the calves from tail to head for the disqualifying flaws that have derailed nearly every red heifer candidate in living memory.
The requirements come directly from the Hebrew Bible. “This is the ritual law that Hashem has commanded: Instruct the Israelites to bring you a red cow without blemish, in which there is no defect and on which no yoke has been laid” (Numbers 19:2). Since the Second Temple’s destruction nearly two thousand years ago, the ashes of such a cow have been unavailable, leaving every Jew in a state of ritual impurity from contact with the dead, a status the Bible calls tumat met. Without those ashes, the purification described in the Torah cannot take place, and full Temple service cannot resume. That is why a light hair on a newborn calf is not a minor veterinary detail. It is the difference between a heifer that can eventually serve the nation and one that cannot.
The first stop was Beit Rimon in the Galilee, where the heifer given the name Temimah, meaning “unblemished” or “whole,” was examined three months after her birth. Temimah’s case has been the most closely watched of the three, because a farmhand attached an identification tag to her ear shortly after birth, before anyone recognized what she might become. The tag raised concern that it may have caused a disqualifying blemish.
The examination was conducted in the presence of the local rabbi, Rabbi Yechiel Tzur, with the Institute’s team checking Temimah from tail to head, a process the Institute has said requires exceptional expertise in the relevant halachic laws. The verdict was encouraging. The team reported that she is indeed temimah, unblemished, both in the redness of her hair and in the physical integrity of her body. The hole in her ear is healing well and appears to be moving toward classification as a temporary blemish, which, according to the ruling of the Institute’s Beit Midrash, does not disqualify her.
The second stop was the Golan Heights herd of Shai Givon, the artificial insemination specialist whose work for the company Piryon has now produced two red heifer candidates from his own barns. This calf, born just before Tisha B’Av, has no ear tag. Aware of what a single puncture had already cost Temimah’s case, the Institute chose not to tag her.
Her complications are internal rather than visible. She was born a twin to a male calf, and cattle are one of the few species in which twin fetuses in the womb can share a connected blood supply between their placentas. When that happens, the male twin’s hormones can cross into the female twin and permanently affect her reproductive organs, leaving her what veterinarians call a freemartin and Jewish law would recognize as an aylonit, a female incapable of ever conceiving. The examination at Yehudiya also turned up several lighter-colored hairs on her coat, a detail that drew Rabbi Aharon Eisental into the discussion alongside the Beit Midrash’s own scholars. Rabbi Azaria Ariel, head of the Institute’s Beit Midrash, offered a measured assessment: “In any event, it is reasonable to assume that these hairs will darken in the future, enabling us to approve their color according to all halachic opinions.” On the question of her uterus, Rabbi Azaria said his latest research has left him confident that the calf can still be rendered a potential red heifer, a question the Sages of the Talmud never had occasion to confront, since freemartinism was not a concept available to them.
Givon has described the pace of these births as more than coincidence. Following the birth of the calf in his herd, he said he has fielded questions from across the Jewish spectrum, from Hasidim and Litvaks to secular and religious Jews alike, and called it a sign that the Jewish people are “more attuned than ever to the Temple and to restoring purity to Israel.”
Kushner (AKA The Christian Zionist Jewish Messiah) meets Hamas leaders in Egypt on Peace Plan

The move comes amid intensive efforts by the White House and Trump’s Peace Council to push both Hamas and Israel toward the next critical phase of the American peace plan.
Jared Kushner, special envoy to U.S. President Donald Trump, held an unusual meeting Sunday in Egypt with senior Hamas officials, according to a report by Barak Ravid on Israel’s Channel 12 News, citing sources involved in the process.
During the session, Kushner applied significant pressure on the terror group’s representatives, demanding they begin immediately implementing their commitment to disarm under the ceasefire agreement reached last October.
Kushner was joined by other senior international figures, including Nikolai Mladenov, director-general of the Peace Council, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The three are working together as part of the American effort to advance a new political and security arrangement in the region, forming part of President Trump’s broader Middle East peace initiative.
The meeting represents a highly unusual development—the first direct encounter between Kushner and Hamas leadership since the ceasefire agreement that ended the Gaza war was signed last October.
The move comes amid intensive efforts by the White House and Trump’s Peace Council to push both Hamas and Israel toward the next critical phase of the American peace plan.
Trump unveiled the plan last month, a detailed 20-point framework for reshaping Gaza’s future.
According to the proposal, Hamas has agreed to complete disarmament and to transfer all civil and security authority in Gaza to a new technocratic Palestinian government.
The plan also includes provisions for possible Israeli withdrawal from parts of the territory, presenting complex challenges for Jerusalem’s political leadership.
Israel’s political establishment and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government have expressed considerable skepticism about both the feasibility of the U.S. plan and Hamas’ willingness to fulfill its commitments.
Netanyahu, facing heavy political pressure from both coalition partners and political opponents, has publicly voiced reservations about details of the disengagement framework.
This comes despite earlier phone conversations with Kushner in which the prime minister reportedly promised to give the initiative a chance and even committed to restraining military operations in Gaza to allow the process to be tested.
The issue carries particular sensitivity given Israel’s approaching elections, where Netanyahu is trailing in polls and his relationship with Trump has entered a complicated phase.
Kushner, Mladenov, and Blair are expected to arrive in Israel for meetings with Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Washington officials emphasize that the goal is to reach full understanding and coordination with Israel regarding implementation of the coming phases in the months ahead.
Senior American sources indicated that the U.S. is not rushing the process and considers it important to ensure each step is executed carefully and precisely, expressing confidence that the current plan is superior to any alternative currently available on the ground.
Kushner recently published a detailed statement on the Abraham Accords in which he hinted at the possibility of another political breakthrough in the region.
