Be God’s Hand Extended

The least of these is a phrase from Matthew 25, where Jesus speaks of those in need. The context is the parable of the sheep and the goats, which describes the judgment of the nations. This judgment will take place in the aftermath of the tribulation in the end times. Jesus explains what will happen at that time:
Then the King will say to those on his right, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.” Then the righteous will answer him, saying, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?” And the King will answer them, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me” (Matthew 25:34–40, ESV).
In contrast to the blessings enjoyed by the “sheep,” the “goats” are cursed with eternal hellfire, “prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). Jesus gives the reason for the judgment: they had opportunity to minister to the Lord, but they did nothing (verses 42–43). The “goats” ask when they saw the Lord in need—when did they have opportunity to serve Him? Jesus replies, “Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me” (verse 45, ESV).
The need of the “least of these” is great, and the difference in treatment they receive is stark. The “sheep” act charitably, giving food, drink, and clothing to the least of these, Jesus’ brothers. The “goats” show no charity but turn a cold shoulder to their needs. It didn’t matter to them that Jesus’ brothers were hungry, thirsty, impoverished, sick, and imprisoned. They just didn’t care. In this way, the righteous and the unrighteous show their true nature. The nature of the righteous is to help others; the nature of the unrighteous is to look out for themselves. The “sheep” are proved to be righteous and the “goats” are proved to be sinful by their respective responses to those in dire need.
In the end-times context of Matthew 25, the “sheep” are those who were saved during the tribulation, and the “goats” are the unsaved who survived the tribulation. The “least of these” are the believing Jews (Jesus’ “brothers” in the flesh) who were persecuted and hunted down by the Antichrist during the great tribulation. During that time of intense trouble, only the righteous will risk their own well-being to help the Jewish people in their distress. The unrighteous will refuse to help, becoming complicit in the Antichrist’s extreme anti-Semitism and genocidal plans.
The redeemed are “eager to do what is good” (Titus 2:14), even to the “least of these.” Extending charity to God’s people in difficult situations is godly. The “least of these” are easily overlooked and ignored. During the great tribulation, the Jews will be ostracized, persecuted, and marked for destruction (see Matthew 24:15–22; Daniel 7:21; Revelation 12:17). Non-Jews who remain apathic toward them will provide proof positive that they do not know Jesus.
God has always shown a special concern for the poor and needy (Psalm 35:10). In Matthew 25, Jesus identifies Himself with the poor and needy to the extent that He considers one’s treatment of the “least of these” to equate to how He is treated. A similar perspective is found in Acts 9. As “Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers” (Acts 9:1), the Lord stopped him on the road to Damascus. Saul “fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?’” (verse 4). When Saul inquired who was speaking, the Lord replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!” (verse 5). Saul was persecuting Christians, and Jesus took it personally. As far as the Lord was concerned, Saul was persecuting Him.
The parable of the sheep and the goats can find application to our own actions today. The “least of these” could be applied broadly to all believers in Christ or, more broadly still, to all humanity. The followers of Jesus should be proactive in their charitable acts, especially toward those of the family of God (Galatians 6:10). If any of Jesus’ “brothers” are being ostracized, persecuted, or marked for destruction by wicked forces, we have a responsibility to take action to help provide relief from the suffering. Our service to the “least of these” is to Christ Himself. He takes it personally what happens to His own, and the godly should be characterized by charity.
“Ministry” is from the Greek word diakoneo, meaning “to serve” or douleuo, meaning “to serve as a slave.” In the New Testament, ministry is seen as service to God and to other people in His name. Jesus provided the pattern for Christian ministry—He came, not to receive service, but to give it (see Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45; John 13:1-17).
The Christian should minister by meeting people’s needs with love and humility on Christ’s behalf (see Matthew 20:26; Mark 10:43; John 2:5,9; Acts 6:3; Romans 1:1; Galatians 1:10; Colossians 4:12). Christians are to minister to others out of their devotion to Christ and their love for others, whether the other people are believers or unbelievers. Ministry to others should be impartial and unconditional, always seeking to help others as Jesus would.
The ministry in our day has taken on more of a vocational meaning as we call pastors “ministers” to full-time service. Pastors do spend their lives in the ministry, they do minister to others, and they can rightly be designated as ministers, but pastors are not the only ones who are to be involved in ministry. From the early New Testament churches to the churches of our day, each Christian should be in the ministry of helping others (see Romans 12:3-8, 10-13; 2 Timothy 2:24-26).
The content of ministry seems to prioritize the ministering in spiritual things, not just practical things. Ministry should certainly place emphasis on sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others so they can come to know Him and receive Him as personal Savior, go on to experience Him as Lord of their life, and go even further to know Christ as the essence of their Life (see John 1:12; Colossians 2:6-7; Galatians 2:20; Philippians 3:8-10). Ministry can, and should, include ministering to the physical, emotional, mental, vocational, and financial needs of others. Jesus did, and so should we!
“God helps those who help themselves” is probably the most often quoted phrase that is not found in the Bible. This saying is usually attributed to Ben Franklin, quoted in Poor Richard’s Almanac in 1757. In actuality, it originated from Algernon Sydney in 1698 in an article titled Discourses Concerning Government. Whatever the original source of this saying, the Bible teaches the opposite. God helps the helpless! Isaiah 25:4 declares, “For You have been a defense for the helpless, a defense for the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat…” Romans 5:6 tells us, “For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.”
In terms of salvation, we are all utterly helpless. We are all infected by sin (Romans 3:23), and condemned as a result of that sin (Romans 6:23). Nothing we can do on our own can remedy this situation (Isaiah 64:6). Thankfully, God is the helper of the helpless. While we were still sinners, Jesus died for us (Romans 5:8). Jesus paid the penalty that we were incapable of paying (2 Corinthians 5:21). God provided the “help” that we need precisely because we could not help ourselves.
Apart from salvation, there is perhaps a way that the concept “God helps those who help themselves” is correct. As an example, if you asked me to help you move a piece of furniture, but then just watched me as I moved the furniture for you, I was not actually helping you. I would be doing the work for you. Many Christians fall into the trap of inactivity. Many Christians ask God for help, but then expect God to do everything Himself. They excuse this by pointing to the fact that God will provide according to His will and in His timing. However, this is not a reason for inactivity. As a specific example, if you are in need of a job, ask the Lord to help you find a job – but then be active in actually looking for a job. While it is in His power to do so, it is highly unlikely that God will cause employers to come looking for you!

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.
—Ephesians 1:18
Heaven is something we see now with our hearts through our faith. When we are discouraged, doubtful, and depressed, we need to have the eyes of our hearts “enlightened” so we can live our lives with that hope. The dawn needs to rise in our darkness; as we see the dawn of hope and the riches of our inheritance on the horizon, we can be strong, have faith, endure, persevere, and even thrive in our faith. When things look bad, however, sometimes the only way to remember “the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints” is to sing them, pray them, and read God’s promises of them in Scripture. These three spiritual practices awaken our faith to see beyond our circumstances! Paul reminds us that, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we can remind each other of these things when we pray for one another to experience them.
Prayer
O God, you are my lasting hope. I trust in you and your promises. I admit, however, that at times I struggle with my confidence in my hope that you will act in response to my prayers and do what I’ve trusted you with my life to do. So, please fill me with your Spirit, who can comfort my doubts, rekindle my passion to serve you with boldness, and to share my hope with others. Thank you for Paul’s reminder, and I choose to pray about these hopes, sing about these hopes, and read about these hopes in the Scriptures. Through my Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen and Amen

What is waiting for Israel, 2027 and Beyond?
Let’s Look into Bible Prophecy and see what is the Future of Israel according to Bible Prophecy, Study by Pastor Dirk.
1. The Gog and Magog War!
Just before the 7 Year Peace Agreement the Gog and Magog Battle takes place at the Border between Israel and Syria in the Golan Heights. Gog (Russia) and Magog (Iran) leads this large army with Other Countries that joined in like Turkey, Just to name a few. The Reason: Land Grab, due to the Resolution the UN Passed on the 23 rd of Dec 2016. Trying to push Israel back to the 1967 Borders.
With complements of Obama and his lame duck administration.
What stands out for me in that in this war God will fight this Battle on behalf of Israel, with The Gog and Magog weapons failing and exploding in their own Bunkers.
See this Video ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUeWu1Ar3rw
This will be a Nuclear War , for Ezekiel sees that the Bodies of the Gog and Magog cannot be accessed for Burial for Months on End, And God dedicated a Piece of Land for the dead of this army.
One more thing that stands out to me is that the Weapons left by the Gog and Magog army will be burned by Israel for a 7 Year Period.
This during the 7 Year Peace Agreement.
Eze 38:1-23 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?
And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.
For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Eze 39:1-29 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.
And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man’s bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamongog.
And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land.
And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.
And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.
And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.
So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.
And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;
After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.
When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD. – Ezekiel
2. The Arrival of the Jewish Messiah.
Just after the Gog and Magog war , The New World Order takes over and appoint a Leader that is also introduced as the Jewish Messiah by the False Prophet
Christians Please do Not get Fooled for the Jewish Messiah is not Jesus Christ and This is not the 2nd Coming of Jesus Christ !
Don’t be Fooled Jesus is not the Jewish messiah
3. The Building of the 3rd Jewish Temple.
Israel finally agree to a Two State Solution and Give Palestine the West Bank (Old Judea) as Country. For this Israel gets the Approval to build the 3rd Jewish Temple.
Within 9 Months the Temple is Build and Animal Sacrifices starts.
Rev 11:1-2 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. – John
4. The Birth of the Country of Palestine.
Israel completes the Wall between Israel and the West Bank , and in One day the Country of Palestine is Born , There is Jews that Remain in Judea = Palestine. Under the 7 year Peace Agreement.
Eze 36:17-22 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:
And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
Isa 66:8-14 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains – Jesus Christ
5. The Abomination of Desolation.
42 Months = 3 and half Year from the 1st Brick of the Temple is Placed , The Jewish Messiah steps into the Temple , Claiming to be God and Stops the Daily Animal Sacrifices , This is Called the Abomination of Desolation.
Dan 12:11-12 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. – Daniel
Mat 24:15-16 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: – Jesus Christ
6. The Fleeing into the Wilderness.
The Jews in Israel does not accept the Abomination and the Jewish Messiah reveals him as the Antichrist, and Ban the Jews from the Temple, and cancels the Peace agreement, The Jews in Palestine then have to Flee into the Mountains and Wilderness with the Help of USA.
Mat 24:15-20 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: ~ Jesus Christ
Rev 12:12-17 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. – JOHN
After this the 666 is Implemented and The Great Tribulation Starts!
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. – JESUS CHRIST.

Will The Internet Of 2027 Still Be Free? Cyberattacks Could Change Everything

Imagine opening your banking app in 2027. Before you can see your balance, it asks for a face scan. A news site wants verified identification before letting you comment. An AI security system flags your activity as suspicious and blocks your account until you prove you are really you.
That future is not inevitable. But as cyberattacks grow more disruptive, governments and technology companies will face mounting pressure to make the internet safer. The question is what “safer” will mean–and whether the protections introduced after a crisis will also bring more tracking, identity checks and control.
The internet we know today could look very different by 2027.
The attacks are already crossing borders
This week, Binance reported a major breach involving billions of dollars in digital assets, while Polymarket suspended trading after a third-party security incident caused losses for some users. The threat is not confined to crypto platforms.
In South Korea, breaches affecting several major banks prompted an emergency response from financial authorities; investigators and security researchers have examined evidence that attackers used AI tools. In France, a cyberattack disrupted refrigeration systems at roughly 700 supermarkets, spoiling food and raising concerns about the food supply. These are just some of the more recent attacks but they have been steadily increasing all year.
These incidents show how cyberattacks can reach financial networks and physical systems across the world. AI can help attackers sort through information, identify weaknesses, write code and scale up familiar tactics. That does not mean machines are independently launching every attack. It means people with malicious intent may be able to do more, faster.
The targets extend well beyond banks and exchanges. Cities rely on connected systems to run services. Hospitals depend on digital networks to coordinate care. Water utilities use computer systems to monitor and control equipment. Government agencies, power providers and food distribution networks are all exposed to disruption.
Federal authorities have warned about attacks on water and wastewater systems, including incidents that interfered with monitoring or control. A breach at a financial site can be devastating. An attack that disrupts water, hospital services or city operations could affect thousands of people who have no idea how the intrusion began.
Prophecy News Watch has been attacked several times this week, knocking our website offline. We do not know who is behind those attacks or what their motive is. There is no obvious financial gain in targeting our publication. When a news site is repeatedly taken down, it is fair to wonder whether its reporting has made it a target–and whether that means we are doing something right.
For us, the immediate cost is lost access to our readers. For a hospital, a city or a utility, the consequences could be much more serious.
Three days without normal services
Governments are urging citizens to prepare for disruptions. The United Kingdom and Canada recommend keeping essential supplies for at least 72 hours; the Netherlands and Poland offer similar three-day guidance, and the European Union has urged member states to work toward 72-hour household self-sufficiency.
These recommendations cover many kinds of emergencies. They do not prove officials are anticipating a specific cyberattack. But they raise a serious question: In a world where essential services depend on digital networks, could cyberattacks be among the disruptions families may need to endure?
What happens if a hack leaves a bank, hospital, city or utility unable to operate normally for days–or longer? How do families pay for essentials if payment networks are unavailable? How do patients get care when hospital systems are compromised? How does a city coordinate emergency services if its communications networks fail? What happens when a water provider cannot trust the systems it uses to monitor its facilities?
An attack that interrupts power, water, payments or communications could create the kind of emergency those supplies are meant to help people weather. It is reasonable to prepare. It is also reasonable to ask whether our critical systems are secure enough that families must plan for basic services to disappear.
A safer internet–or a more controlled one?
If a major cyberattack causes widespread disruption, the public will demand protection. Governments will promise security. Technology companies will offer systems that can verify users, detect suspicious behavior and shut down threats before they spread.
Some changes could help. Critical infrastructure may be separated from public networks. Banks and government systems may require stronger authentication. Websites may rely on AI tools to identify attacks in real time. More services could move to identity-verified accounts, while anonymous access becomes harder to find.
But imagine how that shift could feel in daily life. You try to open a site and are asked to verify your identity. A biometric scan becomes the quickest way through the login screen. Your AI assistant handles banking and shopping, but its actions are monitored and restricted by financial institutions. A security system flags your behavior as unusual, and an automated decision blocks your access until you prove who you are.
The internet might still look familiar on the surface. The same apps, websites and services may be there. Yet the freedom to browse, speak, transact or create an account without being identified could steadily disappear. Measures introduced as emergency safeguards could become routine. What begins as protection against hackers could turn into a system where access depends on verified identity and every action leaves a record.
That is speculation, not a forecast. A cyber crisis does not have to lead to a surveillance internet. But tighter controls could be built one “temporary” safeguard at a time, especially if people are frightened and the tradeoff is presented as safety versus risk.
The AI contradiction
There is another unsettling tension in the AI boom. Anthropic’s recent public filing warns investors that advanced AI could pose “catastrophic or existential risks to humanity,” while the company prepares for a potential public offering that could raise enormous sums to expand its business.
That warning does not prove catastrophe is inevitable. And Anthropic’s reported $80.7 billion loss in the first half of 2026 was largely driven by a non-cash accounting charge, not $80 billion in operating expenses. But the contradiction remains: AI developers warn that the technology could produce consequences they cannot control even as they race to build more powerful systems and attract more investment.
Anthropic says its safety work is designed to reduce those risks, while acknowledging success is not guaranteed. Investors and the public should ask a basic question: If the companies building advanced AI cannot assure us that the risks are under control, why are we so eager to finance a race that may make them harder to contain?
What will we trade for security?
AI-assisted hacking could make attacks faster and more damaging. Financial platforms have been hit. Water systems have been targeted. Supermarket refrigeration has been disrupted. PNW has felt firsthand what it means to be knocked offline.
We need stronger defenses, reliable backups and sensible emergency preparation. But we should be clear about what we are defending: not just our infrastructure, but our ability to live without constant digital supervision.
The internet of 2027 may still connect us to the same services. The difference could be that every login is checked, every transaction is monitored and every user is expected to prove who they are. Cyberattacks may bring the internet to its knees. The decisions made in response could determine whether it rises again as an open network–or as a tightly controlled system where everyone is identified, tracked and watched.
Media Silent As 130 Christians Slaughtered In 3 Different Countries

The past week was one of the most fatal for Christians around the world in recent memory. From Nigeria to Ethiopia to Jordan, gunmen slaughtered more than a hundred Christians. The somber news reminds Christians in America of the urgent need our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ face every day. It also accentuates the stakes in Tuesday’s election.
On Friday, gunmen attacked a Christian community in northeastern Nigeria, firing on people as they fled into a river. At least 62 people were killed in the attack, 52 were wounded, and thousands fled their homes. In the past decade, Islamist militants have killed tens of thousands of Christians in Nigeria.
Also on Friday, three unnamed terrorists opened fire at Christians gathered for a funeral outside St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in the village of Hmoud, east of the Dead Sea. Jordanian authorities have suspects in custody, making this the only one of the three attacks where government authorities have acted to protect Christians.
On Saturday, Ethiopian Orthodox Christians in the Oromia state suffered a series of attacks in which more than 60 people were killed, including five children, and 20 houses were burned to the ground. One survivor described it as an ambush, in which the attackers surrounded their victims on all sides.
A local official blamed the attacks on a rebel coalition, Alliance for Survival, which includes the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA). However, according to Christian Emergency Alliance, “surviving witnesses claimed regional authorities collaborated with Islamist militias to carry out the massacre.”
All three attacks came the weekend before International Religious Freedom Day (October 27), and also shortly before the U.S. midterm elections.
Fortunately, international religious freedom still finds supporters in both parties — far more than pro-life or pro-marriage positions. For instance, a bipartisan bill to reauthorize the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) passed the Senate unanimously on September 30.
However, the parties do vary in the intensity of their commitment to international religious freedom.
In 2018, the Trump administration hosted the first-ever Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, an international summit of government leaders and advocates focused on achieving real change. The event has occurred annually since 2018, but the burden of hosting it was transferred to nonprofits after the Biden administration declined to maintain the ministerial in 2021.
Indeed, the Biden administration explicitly rejected a foreign policy that emphasized religious freedom in favor of one that emphasized the LGBT agenda and abortion.
“This is a major shift away from international religious freedom — moving away from even calling it religious freedom,” former USCIRF Commissioner Nina Shea said of the Biden administration policy. “It’s more of a watered-down freedom of belief or religion, and equating religion with belief, which is very dangerous because that would mean you have a right to believe what you want to believe, but you may not be allowed to practice it in a public square.”
Sadly, many foreign leaders predicted the Biden administration’s pivot away from religious freedom and had given that as their reason for not implementing more permanent change. It is one thing for Americans to give lip service to religious freedom and warn the world that we are watching. But what really matters to Christians facing persecution is when governments (and militant groups) believe that America will not only watch but act to protect the religious freedom of persecuted Christians abroad. Thus, the intensity of America’s commitment to religious freedom is what actually has an impact.
Christians have long been persecuted for their faith and will continue to face fiery trials for as long as the Lord tarries. As Paul reminded his readers, quoting from Psalm 44, “for your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered” (Romans 8:36).
Yet Christians continue to persevere in difficult circumstances because of the hope that is within them. As Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14).
“For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord,” Paul continued. “Therefore encourage one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18).
These words do bring much-needed encouragement. The survivors of the attacks in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Jordan are likely consoling their souls in such promises even now. But the Christian’s final hope also motivates us to action now, and believers with an opportunity to vote can use that vote to succor their suffering brothers and sisters halfway around the world.
When Democrats Put Christ On The Ballot, Which Christ Are They Preaching?

Pastoral titles and Bible verses can make a political campaign sound like a Christian witness. But a candidate’s use of Jesus’ name does not tell voters whether he is faithful to Jesus’ teaching. That question has to be answered by examining the whole message: what a candidate affirms, what he rejects, and what he leaves out.
That is the challenge facing Christian voters as Democrats James Talarico in Texas and Adam Hamilton in Kansas place their faith near the center of their campaigns. Talarico invokes Scripture against Christian nationalism and calls for “flipping tables.” Hamilton presents himself as a pastor and bridge-builder. Both are seeking to reach voters who may be wary of Republicans or dissatisfied with the candidates on the other side.
There is nothing wrong with a Christian running for office, and no political party owns the name of Christ. Christians should scrutinize conservative candidates who use religious language while acting against biblical principles, too. But a campaign does not become Christian simply because its candidate quotes Scripture, serves as a pastor, or speaks about protecting the vulnerable.
When Scripture Is Made to Say the Opposite
Talarico’s religious language raises more than a question about political style. In a Texas House prayer, he described God as “nonbinary,” drawing on the biblical statement that humanity was created male and female in God’s image. But Genesis is describing human beings as male and female; it is not presenting God as a nonbinary being. The passage does not support turning God into a reflection of today’s gender politics.
His defense of abortion rights also raises a direct conflict with a historic Christian understanding of the value of unborn life. Talarico has argued that the Bible’s account of Adam receiving life with his first breath means Scripture does not establish life before birth. But the Bible’s description of Adam’s creation is not a teaching that human life has no value in the womb. Scripture portrays God as knowing and forming people before birth. A campaign cannot settle the question by selecting one passage and ignoring the wider biblical witness.
These are not minor disagreements over how to fund a program or regulate an industry. They touch the nature of God, the meaning of human life, and the authority of Scripture. Voters should ask whether the Bible is shaping the candidate’s views–or being recruited to defend positions he has already chosen.
Pastoral Credentials Don’t Settle the Question
Hamilton’s pastoral reputation may open doors with Christians who are less engaged in politics. But his public theology also deserves careful scrutiny. He has said that someone can follow Jesus without believing in the Virgin Birth. That makes a foundational claim of the Christian faith sound optional. The birth of Christ is not an incidental detail in the Gospel accounts; it is bound up with who Jesus is and the Christian confession that God entered the world in a unique way.
Hamilton has also supported greater LGBTQ inclusion in the United Methodist Church, including the church’s acceptance of same-sex relationships and clergy. Many Christians see that as a departure from Scripture’s teaching on marriage and sexual morality. Welcoming every person to hear the Gospel is not the same as redefining sin or blessing conduct the Bible calls outside God’s design. A pastor’s compassion cannot make a biblical boundary disappear.
A Campaign Slogan Is Not the Whole Gospel
“Flip the tables” is an arresting political slogan. But Jesus overturned the tables in the temple because worship had been corrupted. The scene was not a blank check for any politician who wants to cast his opponents as enemies of justice. Before turning the episode into a campaign message, voters should ask what Jesus was confronting–and whether the candidate is applying the passage faithfully or borrowing its force for partisan purposes.
The same test applies to appeals to the vulnerable. Caring for the poor, the stranger, and the suffering is not a political accessory; Scripture repeatedly commands it. But Christian faith cannot be reduced to a social program or a list of public-policy goals. The Gospel also speaks of sin, repentance, holiness, judgment, forgiveness, and salvation through Christ. A candidate who emphasizes compassion while treating the rest of biblical teaching as outdated or optional is presenting a selective Christianity.
Follow the Teaching, Not the Branding
Christian voters should not assume that a candidate is faithful simply because he is a Democrat, a Republican, a pastor, or a frequent Scripture-quoting speaker. Jesus warned that religious appearances can conceal a different reality. His standard was not a polished spiritual image, but the fruit of a person’s life and teaching.
The religious left is making a deliberate play for voters who care about faith but feel politically homeless. That effort may succeed, particularly among Christians who are less tied to party identity. But the central question is not whether these candidates can sound religious. It is whether their understanding of Christianity can withstand the scrutiny of Scripture.
Christ is not a campaign symbol to be reshaped for whichever coalition needs his name. Christians should listen carefully when candidates invoke him–and then compare their message with the Christ revealed in the Bible, including the teachings that are hardest for a modern political movement to accept.
