God looks Beyond Human Labels

People tend to judge the character and worth of others by looking at outward appearances. If a person is tall, good-looking, well-built, and tastefully dressed, then he or she possesses physical qualities that humans generally admire and respect. Often these are the physical qualities we seek in a leader. But God has the unique ability to see inside a person. God knows our true character because he “looks at the heart.”

In 1 Samuel 16, the time had come for Samuel to go to the house of Jesse in Bethlehem to anoint Israel’s next king. As Samuel looked at Jesse’s oldest son, Eliab, Samuel was impressed with what he saw. “Surely, this is the man the Lord wants me to anoint,” said the prophet (verse 6).

But God told Samuel, “Don’t look at his appearance or how tall he is, because I have rejected him. God does not see as humans see. Humans look at outward appearances, but the LORD looks into the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7, GWT).

Saul, Israel’s first king, was tall and handsome. Samuel may have been looking for someone like Saul, and Eliab’s appearance was quite striking. But God had a different man in mind to anoint as Israel’s king. The Lord had earlier revealed to Samuel that He sought a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14).

Samuel looked at all seven of Jesse’s older sons, but the Lord rejected them all as His choice for king. God was looking for one who had a faithful heart. David, Jesse’s youngest son, whom they had not even bothered to call, was out tending the sheep. After Samuel passed over the other sons, they sent for David, and the Lord said, “This is the one” (1 Samuel 16:12).

David was God’s choice—imperfect but faithful, a man after God’s heart. Although the Bible says he was handsome (verse 12), David was not a striking figure. But David had developed a heart after God. In his time alone in the fields, shepherding the flocks, David had come to know God as his Shepherd (see Psalm 23).

Appearances can be deceiving. The outward appearance doesn’t reveal what people are really like. Physical looks don’t show us a person’s value or character or integrity or faithfulness to God. Outward qualities are, by definition, superficial. Moral and spiritual considerations are far more important to God.

God looks at the heart. The heart in Scripture is a person’s inner moral and spiritual life. Proverbs 4:23 explains that everything we do flows from our hearts. The heart is the core, the inner essence of who we are: “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of” (Luke 6:45).

To everyone who saw him, Judas Iscariot looked like a faithful disciple, but his appearance was deceiving. The other disciples had no idea of what was going on inside Judas. Jesus was the only one who knew Judas’s heart: “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” (John 6:70). God’s perspective is higher, deeper, and wiser than ours.

Second Chronicles 16:9 says the eyes of God are continually roaming throughout the earth to strengthen people whose hearts are fully committed to Him. God can peer into our hearts, examine our motivations, and know everything there is to know about us (Psalm 139:1). God knows if a person will be faithful. God sees what people can’t see.

King David was far from perfect. He committed adultery and murder (2 Samuel 11). But God saw in David a man of deep, abiding faith who was wholly committed to the Lord. God saw a man who would depend on the Lord for strength and guidance (1 Samuel 17:45, 47; 23:2). God saw a man who would recognize his sin and failure and who would repent and ask the Lord for forgiveness (2 Samuel 12). God saw in David a man who loved his Lord; a man who worshiped his Lord with all his being (2 Samuel 6:14); a man who had experienced God’s cleansing and forgiveness (Psalm 51) and had come to understand the depths of God’s love for him (Psalm 13:5–6; 106:1). God saw a man with a sincere and personal relationship with his Creator. When God looked at the heart of David, He saw a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22).

Like Samuel, we can’t see what the Lord sees, and we must rely on Him for wisdom. And we can trust that, when God looks at our hearts, He sees our faithfulness, our true character, and our value as individuals.

Soon after calling Matthew to follow Him, Jesus ate a meal with “many tax collectors and sinners” in Matthew’s house (Mark 2:15). Matthew had been a tax collector, and these “sinners” were his friends and acquaintances who were now spending time with Jesus. Matthew wanted to introduce people in his social circle to Jesus. The scribes and the Pharisees, who despised tax collectors, complained, but Jesus’ actions in spending time with sinners were in perfect accordance with His mission to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10).

In Jesus’ day, rabbis and other spiritual leaders enjoyed widespread respect and were held in high esteem in Jewish society. Almost everyone looked up to the Pharisees. They were strict adherents to the Law, they were the guardians of tradition, and they were the exemplars of piety. In their vaulted position, they avoided those whom they deemed “sinners”—those who did not follow their system of rules. Pharisees and the other religious class of Jesus’ day would definitely not have socialized with tax collectors, who were infamous for embezzlement and their cooperation with the hated Romans.

Jesus chose to eat with sinners because they needed to know that repentance and forgiveness were available. As Jesus’ ministry grew, so did His popularity among the social outcasts of society. Once Matthew was part of His inner circle, Jesus naturally had more contact with the pariahs of His society. Spending time with the tax collectors and sinners was only natural, since He had “not come to call the righteous, but sinners” (Mark 2:17). If Jesus was to reach the lost, He must have some contact with them. He went to where the need was because “it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick” (Luke 5:31).

Sitting at Matthew’s feast, Jesus broke societal taboos and condemned the Pharisee’s legalistic system of attaining righteousness. The fact that Jesus ate with sinners shows that He looked beyond culture to people’s hearts. Whereas the Pharisees disregarded people because of their past behavior, Jesus saw their spiritual need.

All through Jesus’ ministry, He reached out to those who needed Him. He conversed with a despised Samaritan woman at a well—surprising even His disciples (John 4:27). He forgives an immoral woman in Luke 7, He helps a Syro-Phoenician woman in Mark 7, He touches a leper in Luke 5, and He enters Zacchaeus’s house and dines with him in Luke 19. Again and again, Jesus touched the untouchable and loved the unlovely.

Jesus came to save sinners. Tradition, cultural bans, and the frowns of a few do not matter when a soul’s eternal destiny is on the line. “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” (John 3:17).

Jesus saw individuals, not just their labels. He had compassion and sought to meet the needs around Him. In sharing the word of God, Jesus ate with sinners and spent time with them. Seeing all of this, sinners were no doubt inspired to know Him better. They recognized Jesus as a righteous man, a man of God—the miracles He performed bore witness to that—and they saw His compassion and sincerity.

Jesus didn’t let social status or cultural norms dictate His relationships with people. As the Good Shepherd, He sought the lost sheep wherever they had strayed. When Matthew hosted the dinner party, Jesus accepted the invitation. It was a wonderful opportunity to share the good news of the kingdom with those who most needed to hear (see Matthew 4:23). He was criticized for His actions by the self-righteous legalists of His day, but criticism did not deter Him.

Unlike the Pharisees, Jesus didn’t require people to change before coming to Him. He sought them out, met them where they were, and extended grace to them in their circumstances. Change would come to those who accepted Christ, but it would be from the inside out. The kindness of God leads sinners to repentance (Romans 2:4), and Jesus was full of kindness.

Jesus showed us that we shouldn’t let cultural norms dictate whom we evangelize. The sick need a physician. Lost sheep need a shepherd. Are we praying to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into the field (Luke 10:2)? Are we willing to go ourselves?

The word foreordained is used primarily in the King James Version or Revised Standard Version of the Bible. It is usually a translation of a Greek word meaning “to know beforehand.” Foreordained is used in that sense in verses such as Romans 8:29–30 and 1 Peter 1:20. However, the Greek word is more commonly translated “foreknew.”

In verses such as Ephesians 1:4–5, foreordained has a stronger meaning, implying more than knowledge: “He chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love: having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will” (ERV). In this case, “foreordained” is a translation of a different Greek word that means “predetermined” or “marked out beforehand.” Other passages also state that God not only foreknew certain things, but He determined beforehand that they should be so. Acts 4:28 says that God had “decided beforehand” what should happen when Jesus was put on trial. Ephesians 1:11 says that believers were “chosen” and “predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.”

When foreordained is used in the sense of God’s determining of events before they happen, we enter the tension between human will and God’s sovereignty, as played out in His predestination or election of believers. Volumes have been written about this tension, with the two main positions coming under the labels of Calvinism and Arminianism. Extreme Calvinism, or hyper-Calvinism, asserts that everything has already been determined by God and that human beings are little more than robots playing out our roles, making evangelism unnecessary. Extreme Arminianism, on the other hand, places all decisions in human hands and renders God as little more than a spectator, lacking omniscience and the power to do anything without our permission. Most Christians understand that this tension between God’s sovereignty and human will is only resolved in a supernatural combination of both positions, the truth being somewhere in the middle.

Isaiah 46:9–11 is God’s statement on the matter of things being foreordained: “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ . . . What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.” Clearly, God is sovereign. If He were not, He would not be God. How does the fact that He foreordains things fit with the fact of human choice? In the end, we must be humble enough to admit that there are many things about God that are too high for us to comprehend (see Psalm 131).

What we can know for certain is that God has foreordained the way of salvation for “whosoever believes” in His Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16–18, 36; Acts 10:43). God has foreordained that believers will be adopted into His family as children of God (John 1:12) and that He will take the responsibility of transforming us into the likeness of Jesus (Romans 8:29–30). God has foreordained that all those born again by grace through faith will spend eternity in heaven with Him (John 3:3; 17:3; Ephesians 2:8–9). We can rest in the knowledge that we have a Father who is in charge of His universe and that His plan is perfect. “Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not!” (Romans 9:14).

Tea Time Manna

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
—Romans 12:2

Don’t let the world mold you. Wow, isn’t that a tough command to obey? It reminds us that what we allow into our minds makes it a place of spiritual warfare. Sloppy thinking is more than sloppiness; it’s dangerous because the world feeds us messages that constantly distort God’s truth and the holy values he calls us to live. Rather than being incensed by the world acting like the world, let’s be transformed by renewing our minds and by doing what Paul said he did — “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). Let’s not let our minds be molded and conformed to the world, but let them be renewed as we are transformed by the power of God’s Spirit.

Prayer

O Lord, please guard my soul from pride, my heart from callousness, and my mind from too much focus on unimportant or selfish things, and not enough on your things. Please teach me in my heart what it means to be about my Father’s business, especially in the world of my thoughts! In the name of Jesus, my greatest example of one who knew and lived your will, I pray. Amen and Amen

The Black Pope: A Look at the Leader of the Jesuits

The Jesuits, also known as the Society of Jesus, are a Catholic religious order founded in 1540 by Ignatius of Loyola. The Jesuits are known for their education, missionary work, and social justice activism. At the head of this influential organization is the Superior General, commonly referred to as the Black Pope. In this article, we will explore the role and responsibilities of the Black Pope.

Who is the Black Pope?

The Black Pope is not an official title, but rather a nickname given to the Superior General of the Jesuits. The nickname is a reference to the black cassock that Jesuit clergy wear. The current Superior General is Arturo Sosa, a Venezuelan priest who was elected to the position in 2016.

What are the responsibilities of the Black Pope?

The Superior General of the Jesuits is responsible for the overall direction and governance of the order. This includes overseeing the work of Jesuit communities and institutions around the world, as well as promoting the Jesuit mission of education, social justice, and spiritual formation. The Black Pope also serves as a liaison between the Jesuits and the Vatican, and is responsible for ensuring that the order is in compliance with Catholic doctrine and canon law.

How is the Black Pope elected?

The Superior General is elected by the Jesuit General Congregation, which is a gathering of representatives from Jesuit communities around the world. The General Congregation meets every few years to elect a new Superior General and to discuss the direction of the order. The election of the Superior General is a complex process that involves prayer, reflection, and discernment, and can take several days or even weeks to complete.

What is the significance of the Black Pope?

The role of the Superior General is significant not only within the Jesuit order, but also within the wider Catholic Church. The Jesuits are one of the largest and most influential religious orders in the world, and their work has had a significant impact on Catholicism and on society as a whole. The Black Pope is therefore a figure of great importance, and his leadership and guidance are closely watched by Catholics and non-Catholics alike.

The Black Pope ! The Real Leader of the Illuminati.

Black Pope. “Black Pope” is a designation given to the Superior General. The name follows from his leadership of the largest Catholic, male religious order and from the color of the plain black cassock worn by members of the Society, including the Superior General.

The Superior General of the Society of Jesus is the official title of the leader of the Society of Jesus – the Roman Catholic religious order which is also known as the Jesuits. He is generally addressed as Father General. The position sometimes carries the nickname of the Black Pope, because of his responsibility for the largest Catholic, male religious order and is contrasted to the white garb of the Pope. The thirty-first and current Superior General is the Reverend Father Arturo Sosa, elected by the 36th General Congregation on October 14, 2016

The formal title in Latin is Praepositus Generalis, which may fairly be rendered as “superior general” or even, “president general”. The term is not of military origin (despite popular misconceptions and Ignatius of Loyola’s own military background) but is derived from “general”, as opposed to “particular”. This usage is consistent with other Catholic religious orders, like the Dominicans’ “master general”, Franciscans’ “minister general”, Carthusians’ “prior general”, and with civil posts such as Postmaster General and Attorney General. The Jesuits are organized into provinces, each with a provincial superior, (usually referred to as the “Provincial Father” or just “Provincial”), with the head of the order being the “general superior”, for the whole organization. As a major superior, the Superior General is styled “Very Reverend”.

Superiors General are elected for life and almost all have served life terms, the exceptions being Father Pedro Arrupe (resigned for reasons of failing health) and his successor, Father Peter Hans Kolvenbach.

Kolvenbach’s resignation was announced in February 2006, which led to the convocation of the 35th General Congregation. That General Congregation elected the current Superior General of the Society, Father Adolfo Nicolás, who succeeded Kolvenbach.

The prophecy concerning the rebirth of the Holy Roman Empire is one of the most critical prophecies in the entire Bible. Without proper understanding of this prophecy, it is impossible to really grasp the entire scope of the prophecies God has given us.

The prophecy concerning the rebirth of the Holy Roman Empire is one of the most critical prophecies in the entire Bible. The rebirth of the Holy Roman Empire actually happened on November 3, 2009. Its fulfillment was one of the five most important prophetic fulfillment’s in the last two thousand years. One reason this prophecy is so important is because the Antichrist and the False Prophet will both come out of this reborn Holy Roman Empire.

Let’s first of all understand the setting when this prophecy was given. At the time it was written, Israel was under Babylonian captivity. The Jewish people had been sent into exile for seventy years because of their disobedience to God. Daniel and the three Hebrew children were among the first to go into captivity. Because of their ability and exceptional intelligence, they were quickly placed into leadership positions. Daniel became one of the spiritual advisors to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. Babylon ruled the entire world at the time.

One night, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed a dream. When he awakened the next morning, he knew he had dreamed a very unusual dream, but he couldn’t remember what he had dreamed. Nebuchadnezzar demanded that his wise men tell him his dream and its meaning. When they could not tell the king his dream, Nebuchadnezzar was so angry that he ordered the killing of all the wise men in the kingdom. When Daniel heard about the king’s dream and his order to destroy all the wise men in his realm, he requested time from Arioch, the king’s captain, promising to tell the king his dream. Daniel and the three Hebrew children prayed and fasted, asking God to reveal the king’s dream. That night, God showed Daniel in a dream what Nebuchadnezzar had dreamed and its meaning.

The next day Daniel was ushered into the presence of the king. Daniel told the king, that he could not know nor interpret the dream himself. However, he served a God who reveals the secrets of men’s hearts, and He could reveal his dream. Then Daniel proceeded to tell the king what God had showed him.

The Bible is extremely Accurate.

Christian Zionist Trump signs Noahide Laws meaning True Christians may lose their Heads in execution by Decapitation (Beheading by the Sword – Just like Islam)

(Dear Christian, if you are in Fear of Beheading by One of the 2 Religions groups called Zionism of Islam – Please Join the Doctrines of Demons called, Christian Zionism or Chrislam)  Pastor Dirk

The Noahide Laws and Christianity represent two distinct approaches to how non-Jews (Gentiles) connect with God and live morally. While the Noahide Laws originate from Jewish rabbinic tradition as a universal moral framework for all humanity, Christianity is a distinct global faith centered on Jesus Christ as the Savior.

A direct comparison of their core components reveals significant differences in their theological foundations, requirements, and views on salvation:

FeatureNoahide LawsChristianity
Origin & AuthorityRooted in the Talmud and rabbinic tradition as an expansion of biblical principles.Rooted in the New Testament and the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Core RequirementAdherence to 7 specific moral prohibitions.Faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, accompanied by love for God and neighbor.
Path to Salvation / “The World to Come”Granted through righteous actions and ethical living (keeping the 7 laws).Granted through divine grace and faith, not by individual works or law-keeping.
View of GodStrict, absolute monotheism (God is one).Trinitarian monotheism (One God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
Scope of AdherentsApplies universally to all non-Jews (Gentiles).Applies to Christians (believers who form the Church).

The 7 Noahide Laws

According to traditional Judaism, all humans are descendants of Noah and are bound by a baseline covenant of seven laws:

  1. Do not commit idolatry (worship false gods).
  2. Do not blaspheme (curse God).
  3. Do not murder.
  4. Do not commit sexual immorality (such as adultery or incest).
  5. Do not steal.
  6. Do not eat flesh torn from a living animal.
  7. Establish courts of justice to enforce these laws

Do Christians Count as Noahides?

Whether a Christian qualifies as a “Noahide” is a subject of nuanced historical debate among Jewish rabbis:

  • The Issue of the Trinity: Because Christianity teaches that Jesus is God incarnate, traditional Jewish law heavily scrutinizes this under the prohibition against idolatry.
  • The Concept of Shituf: Many historical and modern rabbinic authorities (particularly in Ashkenazi tradition) utilize a legal concept called shituf (partnership). This perspective argues that while Trinitarian theology is forbidden for Jews, it does not constitute forbidden idolatry for Gentiles. Consequently, many authorities view practicing Christians as effectively fulfilling the Noahide laws.
  • The Source of Authority: According to Maimonides, to fully earn a place in the “World to Come” as a Righteous Gentile, a Noahide must observe the laws specifically because God revealed them to Moses in the Torah. Because Christians follow these moral principles due to Christian scripture and faith in Jesus rather than rabbinic authority, their status varies depending on the rabbinic interpretation.

Contemporary Interactions

In recent decades, some individuals have left Christianity to formally identify as Noahides. Fueled by outreach from Orthodox Jewish groups like Chabad-Lubavitch, these individuals embrace Jewish theology and the Hebrew Bible while rejecting the New Testament and the divinity of Jesus. .

Conversely, mainstream Christian theologians emphasize that while the moral principles of the Noahide laws align with biblical ethics, a person’s salvation depends entirely on faith in Jesus Christ rather than keeping an external code of conduct

Donald Trump has officially supported the framework of the Noahide Laws primarily through the continuing of a long-standing presidential tradition: the annual signing of the Education and Sharing Day proclamation. .

While Trump has not explicitly campaigned on or legislated Noahide theology, his administration’s engagement with these principles is highlighted by several key factors:

1. Education and Sharing Day Proclamations

During his presidency, Donald Trump routinely designated the birthdate of the influential Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, as “Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A.”. This bipartisan tradition, which began with President Jimmy Carter in 1978, explicitly honors the Rebbe’s advocacy for universal moral education. .

  • The Textual Connection: In these proclamations, U.S. presidents customarily acknowledge the Seven Noahide Laws (often referred to as the Sheva Mitzvot) as a foundational moral blueprint for a civil society, celebrating their role in character-building, ethical behavior, and human rights. .

2. Strategic Relations with Chabad-Lubavitch

Trump frequently hosted delegations of Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis in the Oval Office to sign these proclamations. Because the Chabad movement is the primary global proponent of educating non-Jews about the Noahide Laws, Trump’s strong symbolic and political relationship with this group reinforced his public alignment with their ethical framework.

3. Appeals from the Nascent Sanhedrin

Due to Trump’s highly publicized policies regarding Israel—such as moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem—a prominent group of Orthodox rabbis known as the Nascent Sanhedrin has repeatedly appealed directly to him.

  • The group has issued formal letters to the Trump administration praising its efforts and explicitly urging him to help uphold and implement the Seven Noahide Laws globally.
  • They even proposed that Trump assist in establishing an International Divine Court in Jerusalem based on these universal laws to promote international peace.

Through these proclamations and high-level relationships, Donald Trump’s administration followed a historical precedent set by earlier presidents—such as Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush—affirming the Noahide principles as a universal moral foundation for the nation.

According to traditional Jewish law (Halakha) outlined in the Talmud and codified by the medieval philosopher Maimonides, the mandated capital punishment for a non-Jew who violates any of the Seven Noahide Laws is execution by decapitation (beheading by the sword).

However, understanding how this punishment functions requires examining the unique legal standards and modern interpretations that surround it.

The Legal Standard for a Capital Conviction

In rabbinic law, the judicial system for a non-Jew under the Noahide framework has far more lenient evidentiary requirements than the system used for Jews:

  • A Single Judge and Witness: A Noahide can be convicted and sentenced based on the testimony of a single eyewitness and the verdict of a single judge. (By contrast, Jewish law strictly requires a panel of at least 23 judges and two matching eyewitnesses).
  • No Explicit Warning Required: A non-Jew does not need to receive a formal legal warning (hatra’ah) immediately before committing the act to be held liable for the death penalty.
  • Ignorance Is Not an Excuse: While a Noahide is exempt from punishment if they commit the act entirely by mistake (e.g., eating forbidden meat thinking it was permitted), being ignorant of the law itself does not excuse them from liability.

Universal Equality of Sins

Under this framework, all seven laws carry the same maximum weight. A non-Jew is technically liable for the same capital punishment whether they commit murder, theft (even of a small value), idolatry, or eat a limb torn from a living animal.

Furthermore, the seventh law—the mandate to establish courts of justice—carries capital liability by extension. Maimonides famously noted that the entire population of the biblical city of Shechem was legally liable for death because they witnessed a prince commit an act of kidnapping and sexual assault but failed to bring him to justice in a court of law.

Historical and Modern Practicality

Despite the severity of the text, historical and contemporary Jewish authorities contextualise this law in a few critical ways:

  • Maximal vs. Mandatory: Many contemporary authorities emphasize that the death penalty in the Noahide Code is a maximal penalty rather than a mandatory one. This means a society’s courts have the divine authorization to utilize capital punishment to preserve civil order, but they are expected to formulate their own just legal standards and lesser penal codes.
  • Lack of Historical Record: There is no historical record in Jewish text or history of a Gentile ever actually being executed by a Jewish court for violating a Noahide Law.
  • The Messianic Context: Many of these hyper-strict legal definitions were discussed by ancient rabbis as theoretical exercises regarding a perfectly just world or the future Messianic Era, rather than operational directives for immediate global enforcement.

Would you like to explore how these courts are supposed to be established under the Noahide system, or look closer at how certain sins (like theft or idolatry) are specifically defined for non-Jews?

The Bible documents beheading by the sword as a historical method of execution and martyrdom, framing it as a harsh reality of human government, war, and religious persecution rather than a command from God.

In scripture, this practice is not a mandated ritual form of capital punishment under the Mosaic Law (which primarily prescribed stoning). Instead, it appears in historical accounts of political rulers exercising power, military conflicts, and the persecution of God’s people.

Here is what the Bible says regarding beheading by the sword, categorized by how it appears in the text:

1. The Martyrdom of John the Baptist

The most well-known instance of beheading in the New Testament is the execution of John the Baptist. It was carried out by the Roman-appointed ruler, Herod Antipas, as a result of a rash promise and political manipulation.

  • Matthew 14:10–11 – “He sent and had John beheaded in the prison. His head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she carried it to her mother.”
  • Mark 6:27 – “Immediately the king sent an executioner and commanded his head to be brought. And he went and beheaded him in prison.”

2. Prophecy and End-Times Martyrdom

In the Book of Revelation, beheading by the sword is explicitly identified as the specific fate of those who refuse to compromise their faith in God during the end times. Here, it is framed as a badge of ultimate faithfulness.

  • Revelation 20:4 – “And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image… They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”

3. Historical Accounts of War and Judgment

In the Old Testament, beheading was occasionally used as a visual declaration of military victory or judgment against enemies, often involving the sword of the defeated person.

  • 1 Samuel 17:51 – After defeating the giant with a stone, David used Goliath’s own sword for the execution: “David ran and stood over the Philistine. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword.”
  • 1 Samuel 31:9 – The Philistines did the same to King Saul after he died in battle: “They cut off his head and stripped off his armor, and they sent messengers throughout the land of the Philistines to proclaim the news…”

4. The Secular Governing Authorities and the “Sword”

While the Bible does not explicitly use the word “beheading” in this passage, the Apostle Paul refers to the secular government’s authority to execute justice using the metaphor of the “sword.” Historically, for Roman citizens like Paul (who, according to church tradition, was later martyred by beheading), the sword was the standard instrument of execution.

  • Romans 13:4 – “For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.”
