FROM FEAR TO PEACE IN 12 STEPS

The Tabernacle of God for today. 12 Steps to Heaven / Peace

The Tabernacle of God of yesterday and today.
The old covenant and the new covenant the Old Testament and the New Testament. The old salvation plan and the new salvation plan.
With this study on the Tabernacle of God and later the Temple of God God gave clear instructions to the exact plan of the Tabernacle to Moses and Aaron and later to Israel and Solomon in the construction of the Temple of God in Jerusalem.

We are going to look at the outlay via the plans for the original Tabernacle and the meaning of every item in the tabernacle. We will find the reason for every item and step and then we will form the new salvation plan according to the Old Plan.
This study is a mirror image of God’s revelations to me.

The 12 Steps to Heaven “Living with Eternity on my mind”
The original tabernacle was a large tent with an opening on the one side and within this tent a smaller tent divided in two sections with a curtain.
If you were outside of this outer tent, you were without the presence of God in your life. And you had to enter this main tent area to bring your sacrifice as sin repentance.
In today’s terms you were living in a sinful World, without God in your live.
Exodus 38 v 9-20
Ex. 38:9 For the Tent of the LORD’s presence he made the enclosure out of fine linen curtains. On the south side the curtains were 50 yards long,
10 supported by twenty bronze posts in twenty bronze bases, with hooks and rods made of silver.
11 The enclosure was the same on the north side.
12 on the west side there were curtains 25 yards long, with ten posts and ten bases and with hooks and rods made of silver.
13 on the east side, where the entrance was, the enclosure was also 25 yards wide.
14 on each side of the entrance there were 7 1/2 yards of curtains, with three posts and three bases.

Step 1:
Admitting you are a sinner, without God in your life, Living in sin, in a sinful World.
As you enter the main tent that when you are turning from sin and moving towards God’s presence. Exodus 38 v 1-7
Ex. 38:1 for burning offerings, he made an altar out of acacia wood. It was square, 7 1/2 feet long and 7 1/2 feet wide, and it was 4 1/2 feet high.
2 He made the projections at the top of the four corners, so that they
formed one piece with the altar. He covered it all with bronze.
3 He also made all the equipment for the altar: the pans, the shovels, the bowls, the hooks, and the fire pans. All this equipment was made of bronze.
4 He made a bronze grating and put it under the rim of the altar, so that it reached halfway up the altar.
5 He made four carrying rings and put them on the four corners.
6 He made carrying poles of acacia wood, covered them with bronze,
7 and put them in the rings on each side of the altar. The altar was made of boards and was hollow.

Step 2:
Turning away from sin, and moving towards God for salvation.
On the left as you enter this main tent area was the place of sacrifice. The place where your sacrifice was prepared – if a lamb, the lamb will be slathered over here. This was the place of blood and change. Exodus 38 v 8
Ex. 38:8 He made the bronze basin and its bronze base out of the mirrors belonging to the women who served at the entrance of the Tent of the LORD’s presence.

Step 3:
Accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior – The blood of Jesus (The Lamb of God) that was shed for our sin on Golgotha hill +-2020 years ago and Jesus died on the old rugged cross for our sins.
As you prepared your sacrifice, you needed to move to the fire altar, and stand in faith: that God will accept your humble sacrifice as payment for your past sin.

Step 4:
Have Faith in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit (The Trinity) to believe in forgiveness and acceptance.
Now you place your sacrifice on the fire altar and see the flames of the altar burning your sacrifice and the smoke of your sacrifice drawing up to God for approval.

Step 5:
Giving and receiving forgiveness. Giving and asking forgiveness to other people and receiving forgiveness from God.
See the Chapter: the fire altar for today.
After your sacrifice was done, you then move to the Copper wash basin to wash and rinse your blood stained hands,

Step 6:
The Baptism of Water, washed clean by the Blood of Jesus and now receiving your Born-again status. Exodus 38 v 8
Now you move past the Copper basin and go and stand in front of the Holy tent. The Holy section of the Tabernacle and later this part of the temple was only available for the Priest that work in the Temple and not for the common man. The normal man could only stand a look as the Temple Priest went to sacrifice to God. At this point they had to move back and leave the main tent aria.
But when Jesus died on the cross this Holy of Holies section was opened to us in the Spirit.

Step 7:
Studying the word of God (The Bible) and reading the promises of God, learning more about the Trinity as the Priest of Old had the knowledge now learning more about your future life with the trinity.
Note: that this is where a vast majority of Christians get stuck on there spiritual journey to Heaven. Just as in the Old Testament. Most of the people turned back at this point.
To accept Jesus as your Savior, you become co-inheritor of the Holy Section. And receive your Priesthood to enter the next place in the tabernacle. The Holy Section of the tent in front of you.
As you enter this tent, the first item you will see on your right is the Table of Bread and wine sacrifice; on the far left hand side you will find the Golden lamp stands; and in front of the curtain the Incense altar.

Step 8:
The table of Bread and Wine- the Passover meal. At this point it’s called the Forgiveness, Healing and Deliverance meal. Exodus 37 v 10-16
Ex. 37:10 He made the table out of acacia wood, 36 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 27 inches high.
11 He covered it with pure gold and put a gold border around it.
12 He made a rim 3 inches wide around it and put a gold border around the rim.
13 He made four carrying rings of gold for it and put them at the four
14 The rings to hold the poles for carrying the table were placed near the rim.
15 He made the poles of acacia wood and covered them with gold.
16 He made the dishes of pure gold for the table: the plates, the cups, the jars, and the bowls to be used for the wine offering.
The Golden lamp stands: Building faith in your live – 7 stages of Faith. Exodus 37 v 17-24
The incense altar = Prayer, Praise and worship. Exodus 37 v 25-29
Ex. 37:25 He made an altar out of acacia wood, for burning incense. It was square, 18 inches long and 18 inches wide, and it was 36 inches high. Its projections at the four corners formed one piece with it.
26 He covered its top, all four sides, and its projections with pure gold and put a gold border around it.
27 He made two gold carrying rings for it and attached them below the border on the two sides, to hold the poles with which it was to be carried.
28 He made the poles of acacia wood and covered them with gold.
29 He also made the sacred anointing oil and the pure sweet-smelling
incense, mixed like perfume.

At this point is where another large percentage of Christians stagnates. Or get stuck on their way to Heaven. Some even leave the aria and move out of the main tent back into the sinful World.
And only a small percentage makes it back to this point to continue.
And actually make it to

Step 9:

Only when you are without any trace of sin and un-forgiveness you will receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
After the incense altar you will see the Main Curtain, and behind the curtain the Holy of Holy’s. Where the Ark of God was kept = the Presence of the Almighty God.
Previously only the High Priest was allowed to enter this Holy of Holy’s section and only once a year to sprinkle the Blood of the sacrifice onto the Ark of God. And even then he had to keep his eyes closed. For if he opened it or touched the Ark of God. He will die instantly.
But now this aria is open to us, and the process in getting here is called the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus died on the cross, God tore this curtain from the top to the bottom opening it to the one’s following these steps.
Step 9: The Baptism of the Holy Spirit. See the revelation book:
”Not just a Spirit”
After you received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and you have now entered the Holy of Holy’s, you will see the Ark of God. This represented the Glory and presence of the God Almighty.

Step 10:
Accepting your Discipleship from Jesus according to Matt 28 v 19.
Mat 28:18 Jesus drew near and said to them, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.
19 Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
20 and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.”

Jesus gave His disciples the orders to go and wait on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit – To wait on the Comforter. As per Act’s chapter 2
After that He ordered them. As per Matt 28 v 19
After you accepted this command from Jesus, you now can go and stand in front of the Ark of God. And look at the Glory of Heaven. But you have to die (the 1st Death) to see the full Glory of God = The Eternal Life. Or the Eternal punishment!
You now have to be approved to enter the main City of the Kingdom of God called Heaven, Paradise or the Garden of Eden.

Step 11:
Receive the Mark of God = The Seal of God being sealed for Eternity, getting approval from the Holy Spirit to enter Heaven.
See next revelation Book “Are you Heaven ready”.
Then the Ark of God (Eternal Life) Exodus 37 v 1-9
Ex. 37:1 Bezalel made the Covenant Box out of acacia wood, 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high.
2 He covered it with pure gold inside and out and put a gold border all around it.
3 He made four carrying rings of gold for it and attached them to its four feet, with two rings on each side.
4 He made carrying poles of acacia wood, covered them with gold,
5 and put them through the rings on each side of the Box.
6 He made a lid of pure gold, 45 inches long and 27 inches wide.
7 He made two winged creatures of hammered gold,
8 one for each end of the lid. He made them so that they formed one piece with the lid.
9 The winged creatures faced each other across the lid, and their
outspread wings covered it.

Step 12:
Receiving and entering eternal life after the Great White Throne Judgment.
We see according to the Plan of the Tabernacle in the Old Testament. That this is a step to step mirror image of the New Testament – New Salvation plan given to us for today and the future.
We need to follow this step, by step to one day enter Heaven.

Tea Time Manna

This is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.
—Philippians 1:9-10

I don’t know about you, but my hardest decisions aren’t about choosing between good and bad. I usually know what is good and what is bad, especially when bad involves evil. My toughest choices are when I have to choose between good, better, and best. My love for God usually overcomes my weaknesses, and I choose good over bad — or at least recognize good over bad. But unless I’ve placed myself before God’s word and surrendered my heart to him in prayer, asking to be led by the Holy Spirit, I have a very tough time choosing between good, better, and best. In my heart of hearts, I want “to discern what is best” and “be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.” Yet I’m convinced that much of what God would love to do through me today often goes lacking because I’ve settled for good when he longs to lead me to the best, to be the best, and to be the best blessing to others as possible! So, dear friend in Jesus, let’s pray this prayer for ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ, so we can all be the best of what God is making us to be.

Prayer

Gracious and Almighty God, please teach me your ways and give me your heart as I strive to not only love you, but to know your will, have insight into your ways, and discern what is best. Please guide me to know the best things to do today and the best ways to use my time to live out your will in my work, with my family, among my friends, and before those who do not know Christ as Savior. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen and Amen

THE “”COOL JESUS”” OF THE ENDTIME CHURCH

a Sneak Peak into the Soon to be released New eBook of Pastor Dirk of TruLight Ministries

CHAPTER 1 – The Watered-Down Jesus:

a drawing on the List of “”Cool Jesus’s”” of the Modern Church

How Modern Church Doctrines Align with the Occult.

The contemporary religious landscape is witnessing a profound crisis of identity. For centuries, the Jesus of the Bible stood as an unyielding cornerstone—a figure of absolute truth, divine justice, and exclusive salvation. Today, however, critics and theologians alike argue that the mainstream church has systematically diluted His character. This phenomenon has accelerated to the point where even practitioners of witchcraft and modern satanism find the watered-down iterations of Christ acceptable, comfortable, and entirely non-threatening.

When the historical and biblical requirements of repentance, holiness, and submission to divine law are stripped away, what remains is an inclusive, generic symbol of tolerance. This eBook explores how various “doctrines of demons” have distorted the biblical Christ and identifies exactly which versions of this altered Jesus are being embraced by the occult world.

The Mechanism of Dilution: Doctrines of Demons

The watering down of Jesus is not an accident; it is the direct result of theological shifts that replace biblical orthodoxy with humanistic philosophies. According to discerning watchmen and platforms like Sheriff of the Church, the modern religious landscape is plagued by dozens of false doctrines—frequently termed “doctrines of demons”—each presenting a tailored, inaccurate version of Christ.

These distortions span across multiple movements:

  • The 3rd Way and LGBTQI+ Affirming Churches: These groups redefine Jesus exclusively through the lens of modern secular tolerance. In this framework, Christ’s message of unconditional love is twisted into an unconditional endorsement of identity and behavior, completely omitting biblical mandates regarding human sexuality, sin, and sanctification.
  • Hyper-Grace Movements: This doctrine presents a Jesus who has swept away all moral obligations and divine laws. By preaching an extreme version of grace that requires no ongoing repentance or accountability, they market a Jesus who functions as a perpetual pass for carnal living.
  • The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) and Kingdom Now Theology: Here, Jesus is reduced to a cosmic facilitator of personal empowerment, political dominion, and signs and wonders. This shifts the focus from Christ’s substitutionary atonement and the call to take up one’s cross, turning Him instead into a blueprint for human sovereignty and earthly control.
  • The Prosperity Gospel: This theology transforms the Lord of Glory into a celestial ATM or a motivational life coach. The Jesus of the prosperity gospel exists primarily to serve human ambition, guarantee material wealth, and eliminate physical suffering, completely abandoning the biblical reality of Christian suffering and self-denial.

Which “Watered-Down” Jesus Do Witches Accept?

When occult practitioners, witches, and esoteric spiritualists state that they accept or respect Jesus, they are explicitly rejecting the sovereign, triune God of the Bible. Instead, they warmly embrace the specific distortions generated by these modern church movements. The watered-down versions of Jesus that find total acceptance in the occult world generally fall into three distinct profiles:

1. Jesus the “Ascended Master” or Enlightened Guru

In New Age, occult, and witchcraft circles, Jesus is frequently stripped of His unique deity and redefined as merely one of many “Ascended Masters”—alongside figures like Buddha, Krishna, or Thoth.

  • The Deception: Witches readily accept a Jesus who is an elder brother or a highly evolved spiritual guide who tapped into the “Christ Consciousness.”
  • The Alignment: This version directly mirrors the New Apostolic Reformation and Word of Faith teachings, which claim that Jesus operated on earth purely as a man in right relationship with God, implying that any believer can attain the exact same level of divinity and miraculous power.

2. The Universalist Jesus of Unconditional Tolerance

Witchcraft, particularly modern Wicca, operates on principles of personal autonomy (“An it harm none, do what ye will”). Therefore, any religious figure who commands total submission or warns of eternal judgment is strictly rejected.

  • The Deception: Witches easily embrace a Jesus who is a peaceful, anti-establishment rebel who strictly preached love, inclusion, and kindness without ever mentioning sin, hell, or repentance.
  • The Alignment: This profile is a direct export of 3rd Way Affirming Churches and Hyper-Grace doctrines. When the church removes the fear of the Lord and the reality of divine judgment, Jesus becomes an inclusive mascot for secular ethics—a figure who demands nothing and affirms everything.

3. Jesus the Magician or Cosmic Manifestor

Occult practices are deeply rooted in manipulating spiritual laws to alter physical reality (manifestation, spellcraft, and esoteric decrees).

  • The Deception: A Jesus who validates the human ego and teaches that words possess inherent creative power to shape destiny is highly appealing to the occult mind.
  • The Alignment: This version is popularized by the Decree and Declare Movement and Prosperity Gospel churches. When pastors teach that believers can “command the atmosphere” or “decree wealth into existence” using formulas, they are teaching a system indistinguishable from high magic. Witches recognize this synergy and comfortably accept a Jesus who acts as the ultimate master of manifestation.

The Ultimate Consequence: A Lawless Unity

The proliferation of these false christs has created a dangerous bridge between the compromised church and the secular, occult world. When the church preaches a Jesus without the Law, a Jesus without judgment, and a Jesus who serves human desires, it creates a deity that requires no conversion to follow.

As a result, a witch or satanic priest does not need to abandon their occult practices to accept this version of Christ; the modern church has altered Him sufficiently to fit neatly within their pluralistic, pantheistic worldview. This serves as a stark warning to true believers: a Jesus who is acceptable to the world and the occult is not the Jesus of Nazareth found in the Holy Scriptures.

Countering Modern Doctrinal Distortions: A Biblical Blueprint

The theological erosion seen in modern “doctrines of demons” is not a surprise to those grounded in scripture. The New Testament explicitly warns that a time would come when people would reject sound doctrine in favor of teachings that suit their own desires. To combat the watered-down versions of Christ circulating in the modern church—and embraced by secular and occult circles alike—we must look directly at the primary biblical passages that expose and dismantle these distortions.

Here is how the true, biblical Jesus and the apostolic witness completely refute the most prominent modern theological errors.

1. Refuting the 3rd Way & Hyper-Grace: The True Standard of Holiness

Modern movements often present a Jesus who is entirely permissive, offering a grace that demands no lifestyle change, no repentance, and no adherence to God’s moral law. They isolate verses about love while ignoring Christ’s calls to absolute holiness.

  • The Biblical Counter: Titus 2:11–12 explicitly outlines the true function of grace: “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.” True grace is not a license to continue in sin; it is the supernatural empowerment to overcome it.
  • The Words of Jesus: In Luke 13:3, Jesus directly shatters the idea of universal acceptance without personal transformation: “I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” Furthermore, in John 8:11, after showing immense mercy to the woman caught in adultery, His parting command was unambiguous: “Go now and sin no more.” The biblical Jesus couples infinite mercy with an unyielding command to turn away from lawlessness.

2. Refuting the Prosperity Gospel: The Call to Self-Denial

The prosperity movement reimagines Jesus as a celestial promoter of material wealth, physical ease, and worldly success. It turns the gospel into a transactional contract where faith is measured by earthly riches.

  • The Biblical Counter: 1 Timothy 6:9–10 delivers a severe warning against the foundational desire of the prosperity message: “Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”
  • The Words of Jesus: Christ did not promise physical luxury; He promised hardship, sacrifice, and eternal reward. In Matthew 16:24, He laid down the true cost of discipleship: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” A cross is an instrument of death to self, not a vehicle for material advancement. Jesus explicitly warned in Luke 12:15, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

3. Refuting NAR & “Kingdom Now” Elitism: Sovereignty Belongs to Christ Alone

The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) and Kingdom Now movements often distort the gospel by elevating human authority. They preach that believers must seize control of earthly structures (the “Seven Mountain Mandate”) to establish the Kingdom before Christ can return, and they frequently reduce Jesus to a template for human godhood or esoteric manifestation formulas.

  • The Biblical Counter: Colossians 1:16–18 restores the correct hierarchy, placing all supremacy firmly back onto Christ rather than human leaders: “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him… so that in everything he might have the supremacy.”
  • The Words of Jesus: When questioned about His political and earthly intentions, Jesus directly contradicted the dominionist mindset. In John 18:36, He stated plainly: “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” The true Church is called to be witnesses and ambassadors, making disciples of all nations, rather than executing human-led political domination.

The Ultimate Diagnostic: Galatians 1:8–9

The apostles knew that human nature would always attempt to reshape Jesus into a more palatable, culturally convenient image. To protect the church from these exact deviations, the Apostle Paul left an uncompromising barrier in Galatians 1:8:

“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!”

Any doctrine that strips Jesus of His role as the Righteous Judge, removes the necessity of repentance, or subverts His supreme authority is, by biblical definition, a false gospel. True spiritual discernment requires testing every sermon, book, and church movement against the unchanging standard of the written Word of God.

The Architecture of Deception: Biblical Warnings on End-Times False Apostles

The Bible does not merely hint at the appearance of false spiritual leaders in the last days; it treats their arrival as an absolute mathematical certainty. Scripture repeatedly warns that the closing chapters of human history will be defined by an unprecedented wave of spiritual deception coming from inside the visible church.

These warnings provide a precise diagnostic blueprint to help believers identify, expose, and reject the counterfeit ministers, prophets, and apostles who distort the gospel for personal gain, power, or cultural validation.

1. The Strategy: Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing

The most dangerous attribute of end-times false prophets is their appearance. They do not enter the church openly declaring allegiance to the occult or paganism; they arrive carrying Bibles, using Christian terminology, and projecting an aura of profound righteousness.

  • The Apostolic Warning (2 Corinthians 11:13–15): The Apostle Paul explicitly unmasks the mechanics of this deception: “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness.”
  • The Warnings of Jesus (Matthew 7:15): Christ provided the ultimate visual analogy for these covert operators: “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” They look like part of the flock, but their hidden intent is predatory consumption—destroying souls and exploiting the vulnerable.

2. The Method: Miracles, Signs, and Flattery

End-times false prophets will not rely solely on persuasive speech; they will operate with genuine, supernatural spiritual power designed to bypass human intellect and target emotionalism.

  • The Warnings of Jesus (Matthew 24:24): In His olivet discourse concerning the end of the age, Jesus dropped a chilling warning: “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” The presence of a miracle, a supernatural manifestation, or a physical healing is never the ultimate proof of a minister’s alignment with God.
  • The Doctrinal Method (2 Peter 2:1–3): Peter explains how these teachers introduce their errors: “They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them… In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories.” They use flattery, manufactured testimonies, and psychological manipulation to monetize their followers.

3. The Target: Itching Ears and Lawlessness

False prophets only succeed because there is a marketplace for their lies. The Bible reveals that the spiritual climate of the end times will involve a massive, collective rejection of objective truth in favor of subjective, comfortable experiences.

  • The Apostolic Warning (2 Timothy 4:3–4): Paul writes to Timothy about the cultural shift within the visible assembly: “For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”
  • The Warning of Judgement (Matthew 7:21–23): Jesus describes a terrifying scene at the final judgment involving highly active, charismatic leaders who assumed they were serving Him: “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers [workers of lawlessness]!’” Notice that Jesus does not deny their miracles; He denies them because they operated outside the boundary of His moral law.

The Standard of Defense: Fruits and Doctrinal Testing

To insulate oneself from the toxic influence of modern false apostles, scripture demands that believers move past outward charismatic charm and enforce two strict tests:

  1. The Test of Fruit (Matthew 7:16–20): “By their fruit you will recognize them… A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.” This fruit is not the size of their church, the number of their views, or the wealth they display. It is the fruit of the Holy Spirit—humility, holiness, integrity, and absolute fidelity to the cross.
  • The Test of Doctrine (1 John 4:1): “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” If a prophet or apostle delivers a word that contradicts the written scriptures, minimizes sin, redefines the biblical Christ, or glorifies man over God, they are to be instantly marked and avoided.

But the Real Jesus, did say this will happen as Signs of the Times of the End times.

Mat 24:4  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

Mat 24:5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:6  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Mat 24:7  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Mat 24:8  All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Mat 24:9  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

Mat 24:10  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

Mat 24:11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Mat 24:13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Mat 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The Interfaith Gospel: When Religious Unity Comes At The Expense Of Truth

Something remarkable happened inside a Catholic Mass in Belgium this month.

During the September 16 opening Mass for the academic year at KU Leuven, a Catholic university, verses from the Qur’an were chanted in Arabic inside St. Peter’s Church. Archbishop Luc Terlinden, president of the Belgian bishops’ conference, was reportedly present.

Even more significantly, the university later confirmed that the interreligious elements were not spontaneous. They had been deliberately planned in consultation with university officials and Flemish bishops.

The justification was predictable: dialogue, reconciliation, peace.

But Christians need to ask a question that increasingly seems forbidden.

Is there a point at which interfaith dialogue stops being dialogue and becomes religious compromise?

Because Christianity is not merely one spiritual tradition among many. At the center of the Christian faith stands an extraordinarily exclusive claim: Jesus Christ is Lord.

Not one lord among many.

Not one path among many.

Jesus Himself declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

That claim makes genuine friendship with people of other religions entirely possible. But it makes theological fusion impossible.

And increasingly, some churches seem unable–or unwilling–to understand the difference.

Hospitality Is Not The Problem

Christians should love Muslims.

Christians should love Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists and everyone else.

We should share meals. We should build friendships. We should defend people’s right to worship freely. We should help neighbors in need regardless of their religion. We should be able to sit across a table from someone who profoundly disagrees with us and treat that person with dignity and respect.

None of that requires pretending our religions teach the same thing.

There is an enormous difference between inviting a Muslim neighbor to dinner and inviting Islamic worship into a Christian service.

There is a difference between discussing the Qur’an and proclaiming it from a Christian sanctuary.

There is a difference between respecting another person’s beliefs and presenting contradictory religious claims as though they are complementary paths toward the same God.

That boundary is disappearing.

In February, St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fremont, California hosted its third interfaith Iftar. Organizers describe how participants eventually entered the church sanctuary, where the program included a Qur’an recitation and a presentation on the spiritual significance of Ramadan.

In March, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Washington hosted Jews, Muslims and Christians for what it called a “Celebration at the Table of Abraham.” The gathering included readings from Genesis and the Qur’an, and an imam recited from the Qur’an. Muslim participants later held night prayer. The pastor described the event as celebrating “our oneness in faith, going back to Abraham.”

In Australia, St John’s Camberwell Church hosted an Iftar in March that included a Qur’an recitation alongside a Gospel reading, followed by the Islamic call to prayer marking the breaking of the fast. Organizers celebrated the event as an expression of interfaith understanding and shared values.

And earlier this month, St John’s Church in Hyde Park, London, became the venue for Modest Fashion Week London, with reporting describing models appearing in hijabs and niqabs. The symbolism of Christian buildings increasingly becoming religiously interchangeable spaces is difficult to ignore.

A Church Cannot Be Religiously Neutral

This is where the modern interfaith movement encounters a problem it cannot easily solve.

Christianity makes truth claims.

So does Islam.

And those claims contradict each other at the most fundamental point imaginable: the identity of Jesus Christ.

Christianity proclaims Jesus as the eternal Son of God, God incarnate, crucified for humanity’s sins and resurrected from the dead.

Islam accepts Jesus as a prophet but rejects the Christian confession of His divine sonship and rejects the Trinity.

Those aren’t minor denominational disagreements.

They concern the identity of Christ Himself.

So what exactly is communicated when a Christian church places the Gospel and Qur’an side by side as parallel sacred voices?

The people involved may intend to communicate friendship.

But the sanctuary communicates something much bigger.

It can suggest that Christianity is merely one contribution to a larger religious conversation–that Jesus Christ may be proclaimed on Sunday, while contradictory claims about Him can be given sacred space in the name of unity.

That isn’t tolerance.

It is theological confusion.

The Gospel Is Unavoidably Exclusive

The modern Western church often seems embarrassed by Christian exclusivity.

Yet remove that exclusivity and Christianity becomes something fundamentally different.

The apostles did not preach that Jesus was one useful path toward God.

Peter proclaimed that salvation is found in Christ and that “there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Paul wrote that “there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

Christianity can coexist peacefully with other religions precisely because Christians do not need to force anyone to believe those claims.

But peaceful coexistence does not require theological coexistence inside Christian worship.

A mosque should be free to be Muslim.

A synagogue should be free to be Jewish.

And a church should have the courage to be unmistakably Christian.

The irony is that Western Christianity sometimes appears to demand less respect for its own sacred spaces than it would instinctively grant to others.

Few Christians would enter a mosque and demand that the pastor be allowed to preach the Trinity during Friday prayers in the name of dialogue.

We would understand immediately that doing so would violate the purpose of the gathering.

Why, then, is maintaining similar boundaries inside Christian worship increasingly treated as intolerance?

The Interfaith Gospel

The danger isn’t that Christians will suddenly convert to Islam because they heard several Qur’anic verses.

The danger is subtler.

It is the slow formation of a generation of Christians who come to believe that religious truth matters less than religious harmony.

That all religions are different languages describing essentially the same spiritual reality.

That insisting Christ is the only way to the Father is unnecessarily divisive.

And eventually, that evangelism itself is disrespectful because attempting to convert someone implies his present religion is not sufficient.

At that point, Christianity may retain its churches, bishops, liturgies and religious vocabulary.

But something essential has disappeared.

The Gospel has been replaced by an interfaith gospel whose highest virtue is not truth but unity.

Christians don’t need to fear their Muslim neighbors. They should befriend them.

They don’t need to silence other religions. They should defend their freedom.

They don’t need to avoid dialogue. They should welcome serious conversations about God, Christ and salvation.

But dialogue requires differences. Otherwise there is nothing to discuss.

A Christian can sit beside a Muslim and say, “I respect you, I care about you”.

But Christianity also requires the courage to add:

“I cannot say that what we believe is the same.”

There is room at the Christian table for friendship.

There is room for conversation.

There is room for hospitality.

But the Christian altar belongs to Christ.

And once the Church becomes embarrassed to say that, interfaith dialogue has stopped building bridges and started erasing the very faith those bridges were supposed to connect.

Seven Economic Warning Signs Every Person Should Be Watching Right Now

You don’t have to work on Wall Street to care about Treasury yields. You don’t have to own a farm to care about diesel prices. And you don’t have to be shopping for a house to care about mortgage rates.

Eventually, these numbers have a way of finding all of us.

The World is entering a period in which several economic warning signs are flashing at the same time. None of them, by itself, proves that a recession or financial crisis is around the corner. In fact, parts of the economy remain remarkably resilient.

But taken together, they tell us something important: the financial pressure on American households is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

Here are seven warning signs worth watching.

1. Treasury Yields Are Sending A Warning

The bond market rarely makes dinner-table conversation, but perhaps it should.

Long-term Treasury yields have recently climbed to levels not seen in decades, with the 30-year yield reaching its highest level since 2004.

Why should the average American care?

Because Treasury yields influence borrowing costs throughout the economy. Mortgages, business loans and other forms of credit are affected by what happens in the bond market.

Higher government borrowing costs also matter because Washington must continually refinance an enormous national debt. The more expensive that becomes, the larger the government’s interest burden becomes.

A move in Treasury yields may look like something happening on a trader’s computer screen. Eventually, however, the consequences can reach Main Street.

2. Diesel Has Become Everybody’s Problem

Diesel recently surged above $6 per gallon nationally, hitting record territory. Farmers have been particularly hard hit during one of the most fuel-intensive periods of the year.

But this isn’t just a farmer problem.

Diesel powers tractors, combines and other agricultural equipment. It powers the trucks transporting produce, meat and dairy products. It moves construction equipment and countless commercial vehicles.

In other words, much of the physical economy runs on diesel.

When farmers spend dramatically more to harvest crops and truckers spend dramatically more to move them, somebody eventually has to absorb those costs. Businesses can swallow them temporarily, but not indefinitely.

That means the diesel price displayed at a truck stop hundreds of miles away may eventually appear in your grocery receipt.

3. America’s Farmers Are Being Squeezed

Diesel isn’t the only problem confronting agriculture.

The USDA expects inflation-adjusted net farm income to decline 5.5 percent in 2026. Meanwhile, total farm-sector debt is projected to climb 4.6 percent to approximately $605 billion.

Those numbers deserve more attention than they receive.

America’s food supply depends upon producers who face many of the same problems households do: higher borrowing costs, higher energy costs and expensive inputs. Farmers cannot simply stop planting or harvesting because diesel, fertilizer or financing became too expensive.

They have to make the numbers work.

When they can’t, they borrow more, cut expenses, postpone equipment purchases or eventually leave the business.

Americans may live hundreds of miles from the nearest farm, but every family visits a grocery store. What happens in farm country doesn’t stay in farm country.

4. Interest Rates Are Moving The Wrong Direction Again

The Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by a quarter percentage point in September to a range of 3.75 to 4 percent, citing inflation that remains elevated.

That is significant because Americans had spent years waiting for relief from high borrowing costs.

Instead, inflationary pressure has complicated the picture again.

Higher rates make carrying credit-card balances more expensive. They affect auto financing, business loans and adjustable-rate debt. They also make it more difficult for companies to justify expansion and investment.

The painful reality is that fighting inflation itself can hurt.

If rates remain high because prices remain high, consumers can find themselves trapped between two problems: expensive goods and expensive money.

5. The Housing Affordability Crisis Isn’t Going Away

The average 30-year fixed mortgage reached 7.03 percent in late September, according to Freddie Mac.

Consider what that means for an ordinary family.

A $400,000 mortgage at 3 percent carries principal and interest of roughly $1,686 per month. At 7 percent, it is roughly $2,661.

That’s nearly $1,000 more every month for essentially the same amount of borrowed money.

Higher mortgage rates don’t only affect people buying houses. They discourage existing homeowners with low-rate mortgages from moving, distort housing supply, affect construction and make it harder for younger Americans to establish themselves financially.

For millions of families, the American dream hasn’t disappeared because houses don’t exist. It has become harder because the monthly payment no longer works,

6. Americans Are Carrying An Enormous Debt Load

U.S. household debt stood at approximately $18.8 trillion at the end of the second quarter.

Credit-card balances alone reached $1.26 trillion, while auto-loan balances climbed to $1.71 trillion.

Those numbers become particularly important when borrowing costs remain elevated.

Debt can disguise financial stress for a while. A household facing higher grocery, insurance, utility and transportation expenses can maintain its lifestyle by putting more purchases on credit.

But borrowing doesn’t eliminate the cost. It moves the bill into the future–and adds interest.

The New York Federal Reserve says new delinquencies on auto loans and credit cards remain elevated.

That doesn’t mean American consumers are collapsing. It does suggest that some households have less room for another economic shock than the headline economic numbers might imply.

7. Consumers Are Losing Confidence

Perhaps the most revealing warning sign is also the simplest: Americans themselves are worried.

The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index plunged 6.7 points in September to 81.9–the lowest reading since April 2014.

Consumers reported increasing concern about prices, employment prospects and the economic outlook.

That matters because consumer spending is a critical engine of the American economy.

When families become nervous, behavior changes.

They postpone buying the car. They delay remodeling the kitchen. They eat out less frequently. They skip the vacation. They keep the old appliance another year. They begin saving whatever they can because they aren’t certain what comes next.

One family’s decision to spend less doesn’t matter much.

Millions of families making that decision simultaneously certainly does.

The Real Warning Is That These Problems Are Connected

This is what makes the current situation worth watching.

Higher energy costs can contribute to inflation. Inflation can keep interest rates higher. Higher rates can increase mortgage and business borrowing costs. Higher farm and transportation costs can eventually increase consumer prices. Higher household expenses can push families toward credit. And eventually, squeezed consumers begin pulling back.

One pressure feeds another.

None of this means an economic collapse is inevitable. The labor market, for example, continues to show important signs of resilience, and parts of the economy remain strong.

But waiting until a crisis officially arrives before paying attention to warning signs defeats the purpose of watching them.

For most Americans, “the economy” isn’t GDP, Treasury auctions or Federal Reserve statements.

It’s whether the paycheck stretches until Friday.

It’s whether the family can afford the mortgage.

It’s whether filling the truck costs $80 or $140.

It’s whether groceries require another $50 this week.

It’s whether the credit-card balance is going down–or quietly climbing.

And it’s whether a farmer can afford to plant next year’s crop.

That’s why these seven warning signs matter.

They may appear in completely different economic reports, but eventually they all arrive at the same place: the American household.
